Root [Revised] Rooting Gingerbread 2.3.5 Dummies Guide

What's "tb"?
I moved some apps with the native app2sd method and now have 155mb, though I'm pretty sure part of those apps are still in internal memory.
Lots of apps are still completely locked in internal memory too.

Right there on main screen if you have a problem finding it

Well was gonna do a screenie as example but tapa or af not letting me :(

The free internal memory according to Titanium Backup is 143MB.
I'm using MikG v. 3.11, by the way.

These are the steps I used to partition the SD card.

1. Create nandroid

"
2.go into recovery and select partition your sd card
3.enter 32 for swap, and 1024 or 2048 for ext2, and do the rest for FAT
4.select upgrade ext2 to ext3
5.select usb-ms toggle and transfer your contents of your card on your old SD card back to the new card.
6.go to the main menu and do a full wipe (min data, dalvik cache and cache)
7.flash the superwipe
8. Restored NANDROID <~ Is that the reason? :o
9.reboot"

10. Restored apps + system data with Titanium Backup.

ok just an fyi you should never restore apps+system data with tb on a new rom. it is ok if you are coming from mikg and nandroid back to mikg. you also do not need to tb restore your apps with tb as that is what nandroid backups do as well.

2DragonSlayer95 i fixed it for you. here it is:

if you look at the bottom, you want to see the sd ext filled and with the internal+media to barely move when you add apps to the phone.

when i try to unlock boot loader it says C:\Users\name\Documents\android>fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
error: cannot load 'Unlock_code.bin'

Hello and welcome zacbmx!!
Is the Unlock bin file in your android folder from which you running that command?
And is your phone plugged in and in fastboot-usb? (in the bootloader screen)

hmm...just so we are on the same page....the Unlock-bin is the one you got in your email correct? No need to do anything with it---just move it to your android folder yes?
And you are entering the commands exactly as shown ?

try this...exit the command window and then open it again and type the commands again.

Yup. I tested it by downloading some apps off the Playstore.
They don't get automatically moved to the SD card.

If it helps, I'm using this:
Amazon.com: SanDisk Ultra 32 GB microSDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter SDSDQUA-032G-U46A: Electronics

Restoring a nandroid shouldn't have an effect on the partitioning of the SD card, right?
Bleh. Confused @^@

Edit: Also, when I restored the nandroid, a lot of my apps were missing. That's why I used TB to restore them.
sorry there Constructive, I have to read back thru what your issue was...stand by :)
I'm at work now....oops, there's the boss  :D

Ok my evo 4g says hboot 2.18 but is unlocked. Which guide would I use then? Thanks

You are already unlocked, s-on...no need to use any guide in the first post unless you want to get full s-off. ? ?
Just check out post #2 for more info about life after root.
I was just chit chatting with you in your other thread :)

Do you have Terminal Emulator?
If so, open up a window.
Type this: (hit enter after both commands)
su
a2sd check

It should tell you if the apps are linked to the sd-ext.
If you want you can save the out put, and post the output here.
