Ok we want it a bit smaller.
Open the catlog app.
Press menu and select record and set the file name.
Then send a picture message, and let it send or not!
Go back to catlog and stop. This will save a logcat file.
To get it use a file explorer and go to catlog>saved_logs on your sd card.
Post that text file either here as an attachment or on pastebin.com
APN setting should be in your networks folder I think. Can another Sprint person confirm this??
There is an app apn back&restore you can use that too to get your apn details. Check out this thread.

As mentioned previously, the Go SMS seemed to fix my problem in terms of forcing pictures through, but I think this thread with changing the APN is has actually fixed the initial problem. I can now send MMS through my stock messenger too! I appreciate both of your help.
The good news is I now have a bit better understanding of a few things, PLUS i have a new messenger app instead of handcent.
