Root [Revised] Rooting Gingerbread 2.3.5 Dummies Guide

You were successful in installing recovery correct?
You partitioned sd card via recovery?
How did you get back into bootloader?
And, if you are in bootloader, can you reboot or get into recovery from there?
If not what happens?
i can reboot and get into recovery... just can't reboot into my phone or install anything for sd... nothing installs from sd now. and i just tried i different card

o.k. As long as we can get into recovery. Did you transfer files back to sd card from computer after partitioning?

Actually wait.. i didn't try just installing the rom from zip on sd... And i just installed it! lol..

It was the sd card then... ****.. oh well. At least i got it working!

where can i find that? is it better?

hard to install?
Find it here.
Is it better? In my opinion, yes. It is AOSP vs. MikG which is a sense rom.
Just read the op carefully to understand how to install.
Just remember to make a nandroid first :)
Hard to install? No, it utilizes the Aroma installer which allows you to pick and choose what to install from the rom before you actually "install" it.
If anything is unclear from that site just ask k?:D

I know right? Lots of people flash different roms daily..
Me? not so much..since being rooted since this past January, I've only run 2 roms...MIkG and Decks..but that's just me.
I am eyeing the new rom from Papa Smurf tho, until Decks gets updated....it's tempting!:smokingsomb:

So you run both? switching back and forth?
Something just went haywire with either with my computer or this website cuz I cannot read some replies...the screen is funky.

Edit: I dont know what just happened but all is good now.
So, no I dont go back and forth.....been running Decks for a couple months now.

Or all you need are the 5 files listed at the beginning of this thread.
Just make a folder named "Android" and dump the first 3 into it.
Then go to the HTCdev site and cruize on thru.
The 3rd Evo I unlocked took me about 7.254 minutes to do. Give or take .10
:)

Yeah the same thing was happening on my end.. It was strange..

New problem! Lol.. My phone wont let me unlock the screen. The battery got low and it went into power saver mode.

It boots into MikG but I can unlock the screen... Any ideas?

OO...I would assume you charged it back up?
And it will not let you unlock screen?
As in, phone wakes up but will not unlock?
