Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

I apologize if this has already been stated--or is simply obvious--but after flashing CM9, am I able to restore my data from my latest Nandroid backup (just like when flashing other ROMs)? Thanks, and thanks to everyone who made CM9 possible. I'm very excited about giving it a try!

With the latest I was able to.Just make a backup just in case.

If its from Gingerbread I wouldn't do it since its 2.3 to 4.0.
But I could recommend getting My backup or titanium back up and backup all your Apps and app data.
Do not restore system apps though. It could cause bugs.

I have to agree with Artine.....Sleipner would give me about 80% for 10 hours, that was with normal use, a little bit of gaming.

Sleipner's battery life is quite awesome....thank you Mr. Artine.

No, but I didnt just modify and reboot. I modified. Added it to the zip and reflashed

Plus fstab only controls partition mount points, it has nothing to do with data connectivity

That's why I said it sounds crazy :p
Update: I think I fixed it. In testing >Phone Information I had it at CDMA Only, but it some how changed to CDMA AUTO (Prl). I changed it back to CDMA Only and it seems to have worked.

Regarding using Titanium Backup, am I supposed to click, "Backup all user apps"? Will that be enough? Thanks!

Also, will this save, by default, my user apps (and data for those apps?) to my external SD card?

Idk how too kan you show me don't know how use
Google plus like dat...N i love the work you do ur very creative !!!
One question is it good to build off alpha rom like cm9 until it final or
You feel like stable enough and all issue with SD n stuff u kould fix?

I haven't tried it on this rom, but I've caused bootloops and FC's by trying to restore the data partition from one android version to another; so beware. Titanium backup should work fine for most apps, but restoring system apps in particular may cause problems, as it has for me.

If you want to be completely safe, install everything from scratch and set it up again on the new system. This is particularly true when changing from one version of Android to another.

This just hit me; people having issues with the SDcard.

I'm not running the CM9 yet but have the issue on Sleipnir after I would clear cache, dalvik, and fix permissions.
The phone shows the SDcard mounted, but can not access it. In settings; Unmount and remount. Everything works as it should after this.
Maybe it will work for those having the problem in CM9 without having to reformat and fight it....

Just a Common bug report:
Seems like phone crashes are somehow associated with putting the phone to sleep by using power button. It could be possible however that 122mhz minimum causes the phone to stutter and be unstable once phone is put to sleep (screen turned off)

Another Bug report:
Apps that are uninstalled via the native (trebuchet) launcher, still leave lingering icons on home screen afterwards

Doesn't do that for me.

I know this one already and pretty sure it's related to the kernel but I

Yeah I had really bad wake up lag with 122mhz minimum.

This doesn't happen to me either.

Hmmm, I don't know what could possibly cause it, but yea sometimes they reappear until I drag it off to remove after I uninstall it the first time. I'll try re flashing later on

Yes I'm going to build off the alphas till final.
Is it a good idea? Cm9 in its current state is already pretty stable so building from it doesn't seem to take that away.
SD is resolved and besides a couple graphical glitches and lack of data its very smooth and quite stable.

I had this too. Noticed it when uninstalling chrome.

If you circled me on Google plus you would already know lol

All major stuff works, just need to fix data but I'm waiting to see when the camera gets fixed

But this isn't my thread so if you want to know more circle me on google plus.

If anyone would like to try it let know and I'll make a WIP thread
I think a work in progress thread would definitely inspire some more people to get on board with the project.

Is anyone else having problems with Testing >Phone Information sticking after boot?
Mine won't stay after a reboot.

OK I have like 4 things going on. Maybe I'll make one thread for all my projects

From now on if anyone has questions about things I'm doing go to the rom adoption center. I've taken up too much real estate on this thread and I apologize for that.

I noticed that I can't send a video via mms. Says size limit exceded. I recorded it from stock rom. Any way to send it using thus rom ? Or does: t have to do with camera not working?

No, as it is a whole different OS and Android version there will be compatibility issues so you have to start completely fresh. I recommend not even using Titanium Backup to restore either but some have reported that works fine.

hey guys! does it matter if in the order that I flash all my zips. for example do I have to flash the Rom and gapps before I leave cwm or can I flash the Rom and put gapps on after I flash then Google now? also any body else have there elite clocked to 1804mhz and running it stable?

If you want to copy app data from the stock rom, go to data/data while running stock and copy the folders to your external SD card for the apps you want to backup. Then when on cm9, download the apps again on the play store and take the app data folders you copied and move them to data/data. Say yes when asking to overwrite.

With the new kernel my phone hasn't been stable at any speed.

Your theory is correct. That is exactly why I outright disabled 122MHz in Sleipnir and Hydra - 122MHz is too low for the phone, and it will cause crashes and other weirdness.
