Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

With the new kernel my phone hasn't been stable at any speed.

yeah I kind of noticed that the quick snap from the last version went down a little when I upgraded. just doesn't feel as responsive. might flash back if random reboots are still present. what minimum would you recommend? I have it at 1024Mhz

245 is the minimum I set, and its more than just the snap, it takes up to a minute to launch apps and around 20 to 30 seconds between tap and action

Min:245
Max: Depends on your phone. Test at the highest and lower till phone is stable. I have mine at 1024. Pretty stable for me.

Since the phone is overclocked by default to 1024MHz, try experimenting by raising that number. I use 14xxMHz perfectly fine without issue, and it's faster.

And 245MHz as the bare minimum, lol. 122MHz sets your phone on fire.

I have mine set to 245 min and 1.4 Max with smartassv2 governor on the latest version and my phone is blazing fast, with great battery life

hey guys! does it matter if in the order that I flash all my zips. for example do I have to flash the Rom and gapps before I leave cwm or can I flash the Rom and put gapps on after I flash then Google now? also any body else have there elite clocked to 1804mhz and running it stable?

Here's the order i flash. Rom, gapps then google now. I am able to oc to 1.8ghz without any problems

Thanks I put max to 1.8 and min to 1024 and that seems to be stable. I think the reason we are getting the lag is because it's not cache like it was before. I think this is because it in an effort to save some ram. although it could be the new kernel....

Added the Navigation bar by adding
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to the build.prop

1024 min is way higher than you need and it will soulcrush your battery life.

I've also noticed that my phone hasn't been as snappy since I upgraded to this last version.

How do you overclock to 1800,...cpu tuner only lets me go up to 16xx

I'm venturing to say that there's probably still a lot of bugs and bloat we don't need in the Rom guys. I don't think we can set any "theory" we have, as an absolute right now. Once the kernel gets ironed out, we very well might be able to run min 122mhz or 1800mhz stably. I'm just saying we are on a different OS as well as android version, now I know that doesn't change hardware issues, but anything about software, we can not be sure about until it's all said and done.

Did you flash with all your data and apps or did you format data before the update? Thanks it would be great to know. Perhaps formatting data will fix the lag and unresponsive we are experiencing you think?

To clock the phone to 1.8 go to settings performance then processor and it should let you do it from there. it's only available after flashing to the latest cm9!

Wat flash able zips? I just wipe cache and dalvik cache
Dats it...you must do this for every time you flash any
Zip...

not sure if this is a bug or user error but none of the ring tones work for me. i pick a ring tone and when i get a call all i hear is a single beep. i've missed several calls because of this. the volume is all the way up. i've tried all the tones that are in the Rom and some that i have made myself.

I am sadly going to flash back to version 1 on my phone. This new one is to unresponsive felling for me( . Sure random reboots are gone for the most part. But , i can take one every once in a while if in am still able to do what i need to do without the phone locking up. This kernel is not ready yet but please keep working on it. I will try the next version! Thank goodness i made a nandriod backup

Anyone else decide to flash back?

When i flash back with nadriod the old kernel should come back to right?

If you do that can you please send me the kernel?

okay but I can't get it out of the nandriod backup because.I cannot find it. I could get the kernel out of the old cm9 version I have saved on my laptop or I could just give you the old version of cm9. there seems to be some stuff built around that kernel so make a nandriod backup before trying it.
