Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

Pull the battery, put it back in.
You may have a bad download. If you have an sd adapter, put it into your computer and redownload and put it back into your phone. Then
press and hold on the down volume button, then press and hold on the power button until recovery comes back up. Reflash per the instructions.
 
Phenom where are u with the camera?? Did u try the kernal from cm7 this rom is best I tried so far need the camera for my lil sis graduation is there a rom that has a working camera I can use and not lose my apps?

I've had this same problem with the music player, but I didn't really think much of it, as it's only happened a few times to me

AFAIK, We never got the camera to work in CM7

What is that md5 for? The entire Sprint build ZIP file? If so, the ZIP file you have is not complete. It should be 2858f14742214ed5266663a143c1274c

If that is the md5 of the updater-script file, then I'm sorry, but I can't help. If you posted the contents or a copy of the updater-script file you were trying to use, I would have checked it for you.

I got the camera working in cm7. But I still had issues with liboverlay that never got sorted, so the preview in the camera app was black. It took pictures, and I think the led even worked. I had to throw our stock libcamera at idapro and read along the source code for some other similar libcameras. What it boiled down to is some enums in the header file. Our stock libcamera (and I guess liboemcamera.so) contain similar enums in the header, but a somewhere in the middle of the list of like 80 enums, there are some added. So for the first ~20 commands, we sent in the right command code, then we missed 2 numbers and every command after those was wrong by 2.

Also just a thought, I accidently flashed your old cm7 rom recently and holybajebus it's amazingly fast and awesome. You should work on it again :) just a thought.

I think a CM7 would be cool...even nostalgic... but when the CM9 base is stable that can/would lead to CM10, Paranoid Android, AOKP, SlimBean ports. Let's look forward not backward. Because the fact is if this device actually came out today it would launch with ICS. There's lots of entry/mid range phones similarly speced. I have nothing against the idea of a CM7 port, I just don't see the need in putting energy and work into going backward. :p

Cm7 could actually bring ALOT of development. The stock based ROMs could be based on CM7, and a lot more ROMs for this phone could also be based on CM7. Then CM9 becomes stable and more ROMs are based on that then CM10/10.1 are developed and so and so for.

Yeah more devopment on GB ROMs :-/...things like the camera etc and a lot of other things changed a lot from GB to ICS ...like where the libs are called from etc(FM system/HW versus system/lib for example.) So a stable CM7 does nothing for the ICS roms forward IMO.
 
I never released cm7 so there is no download link. He only has a copy because he was a tester. The only reason I didn't release it is because wifi wouldn't work but I'm much more experienced (still learning) than I was when working cm7 so I MIGHT start working on cm7 again but I've put a lot of work into cm9 already and is nearly complete to just stop now.

You know what would SUCK? If the ICS update came out for the Elite the day this finally got the camera working, and all major bugs out. Honestly, I don't know ICS will ever officially happen on the Elite, anyway.

Also, is there a way to get a notification when a new update for this ROM comes out?
