Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

Well it seems Wifi Tether(the app) does in fact work despite the error it gives it just does not tell you how much you have uploaded and downloaded( You can find both on you computer)

Oh yes i noticed google talk crashes. Is any one else experiencing that? Maybe its data related.

Using my settings above I get no error with wifi tether and I am able to see how much is downloaded and uploaded.

I just thought. I think we misunderstood each other. I am using a theme Chooser theme. If using theme Chooser is bad on this rom however I'll uninstall it

So, anyone want to compare Sleipnir with CM9 (I'm assuming CM9 beats it, lol)?

Yes and no. Its kind of an unfair comparison. I mean one is gb based on stock and the other is cm9. Sleipnir of course has every thing working whereas this doesn't but in the end they are two different animals and IMO comparing them is not right.

I meant, how do either perform on the phone. Is the battery life and overall performance, quickness, and lag/lagless aspects of the phone better or worse on one or the other? I'm not talking about software, lol, software-wise they're completely different.

one quick question does flashing a rom do anything to the phones internal memory. reason I ask is because I forgot to backup a file and did a factory reset. I used a nandriod backup by the way of my previous rom. did it also backup internal memory?

A Nandroid backup will back up your /data partition, all of your user data. It does not back up your /emmc partition (the internal SD card). This means that if you moved apps to the internal SD card, and wiped /emmc, they're gone.

Here's a Antutu bench mark . I overclocked to 1.6ghz for this benchmark. I've seen someone overclock 1.8ghz with this phone model. Not sure if it's real.

The only way to wipe the internal sd is to wipe /emmc in cwm. So doing the usual pre-flash wipe (factory reset, cache, davlik, and system) won't affect the internalsd.

Does anyone else feel bad for all the sore losers that sold their OE because of no CM? :D

Also could someone explain a few things for me?

What is the difference between Beta, Alpha, and when is it not considered either of those anymore?

And also I see the memory is dealt with differently on this CM9. So did you swap partitions around? Jw if wiping emmc or sdcard in CWM will still format the same as it would on our stock ROMs. :)

Has anyone been able to tether with a secure connection? If so what settings did you use? If I use auto or iwconfig it shows up as unsecured and I can connect without a password. If I use wpa_supplicant my computer doesn't see the network. I can get access control to work though, so that should be all I need to keep people off of it. I think it will only let one device connect anyway.

I dumped my elite not because of no cm but because it's ability to receive data in my area is piss poor to s**tty at best. And I wouldn't say sore loser, but pissed off that the device is such crap stock, all 5 that I have owned.

I tried to get rid of mine a few tines already because of signal but I can honestly say the connection is much better now. I haven't dropped signal on cm9 once

I wasn't referring to you. I know you had several hardware issues that not even CM9 would have fixed. I was lucky to get a good working one. I got it back in June last year and it still works besides instability lately but that's for reasons of my own. xD I was mainly talking about those that really did get irritated and gave up on the phone and moved on. I'd love to see their faces now. :D

I didn't mean software entirely. I mean its two completely different systems on two completely different levels.

Oh can I make a request? Next time you release a build would you consider using devhost? I only ask because the only place I can download is at the library and they block media fire. I had to pay someone 3 dollars today to download the latest one. Thanks

Right, but how does the phone react to them? Does CM9 have better battery life than with Sleipnir? Are things smoother and does the phone perform better/quicker? Those are simple questions, lol.

Overclocked to 1.6GHz also, here's what I got. I'm still looking forward to CM, though :)
