Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

I have the same issues, although I notice there is less lag with each new build that comes out. I too would be interested in any such app, flash able tweak or special settings to help kill the lag issues...

A. Jrummys cache cleaner (free on market) I set it to auto clean every hour and its a significant improvement.
B. V6 supercharger and service.jar edits.
C. Disable Sync
D. Disable Background Data(requires manual update/refresh)
E. Apps that poll, change their polling frequencies.
F. Disable Animations.
All these things help, combined with the proper clock speed, scheduler and governor it can make a difference .

Try a mini browser. Have you tried Opera MINI or Dolphin mini? Stock browser gets unusable after a while, Chrome disappointed me and Firefox was actually decent. So was dolphin. Both HD and Mini.

Dolphin MINI is alot smaller smoother and still has tabs! But Opera seems faster and stabler.

I've tried all mentioned in this post. All lag either immediately or within a short time.

Clean your cache regularly. This is about an hour or so of normal usage. It caches hard.

WOW! thanks!! I new to root'n and Roms

. So far it's awesome!! I'm having an issues downloading and sending MMS messages, is there something I need to install or do different? It just hangs at either sending or downloading and never sends or downloads. I tried to create an APN that doesn't seem to have helped. Other then that I think everything is running great!

Are you using sprint?

oh :( bummer. After I created the APNs it did send a pic but I wasn't able to download it. Now it's back to not sending or receiving though. Not sure if that's going to help at all.

Its the optimus elite VM so I would imagine. I made the settings what it says to in the op. Just curious if anyone else has it working and if so what version of the app they're using and what are the exact settings

how do you install V6 supercharge and service.jar edits? what is that? does it make a big differnce in speed.. the first on u types cache cleaner works awesome.

Is there a way (perhaps from the recovery) to just repartition the internal SD to yield a larger cache partition, rather then using a cache cleaner? Or perhaps to have a larger cache partition on a fast external SD card?

It makes sense that Ice Cream Sandwich would need a larger cache partition than Gingerbread to run smoothly.

I don't know if this is a bug pertaining specifically to this build (9/17) on this phone, but it is serious enough where I must at least document it.

I currently have a problem where the phone is not playing the ringtone occasionally. I listen to a podcast at night, and often receive a call in the morning, however I've now missed two calls from my workplace because of this problem. I've looked around many forums, and found this is a common problem across CM9 and CM10, but is very hard to reproduce.

I am using default ringtones. I've turned on the vibration and reproduced the issue, the result being the call screen comes up, there is no ringtone, and it vibrates if the vibration setting is on. There is also a quiet chirp before it goes silent and vibrates, and I've noticed this chirp when the ringtone does actually play as well, so I'm thinking it may be the beginning of another ringtone that is getting overridden, but I have no way to tell.

I've managed to reproduce the problem by rebooting. I plan to backup and format my Data, SD, and EMMC partitions in hopes of resolving the issue.

TLDR: My phone doesn't ring all the time.

thoughtlover, I had an issue with the phone not ringing as well. What I did was go to System Settings, profiles, and made sure that it was on default. I then adjusted the settings for the ringtone, notification, etc.. in the default profile. This you may, or may not have already tried. Just trying to offer possible solutions.

Also I must note that I am currently on the 8/30 build.

Another possible fix for you, might be to flash this phone/mms zip file in cwm recovery that starkraving posted in an earlier thread. Just remember to make a nandroid backup first. Then wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache. Mount System. Install zip from sd card. Reboot to Recovery. Wipe cache. Wipe Dalvik cache. Fix permissions. Reboot system. Viola.

I'm by no means any expert or anything. I was just reading the boards, saw your post and thought maybe I could offer some useful info. Hope it helps. :)

Hey I'm having a problem and I think its the gapps. I am an avid knights and dragons player and I sign into my gmail and all and it gives me someone else account and I can't get my on it. I installed cm9 and the other roms that use the gapps and it gives me that same account. I was wondering if there is a way to make a gapps compatible with the cm9 that won't have some one elses account.

 account manager only has the accounts that are signed in on that device. If there's another Google account other than your primary you can remove it in settings/accounts and sync.

sorry for the misunderstanding. I sign in with primary account and it gives me someone elses game account because the game isnt sync by gmail but by phone id. i know it doesnt mske much sense if i could show you you'd understand but basically i sign in my gmail but it gives me a different game account bc there is no sign in field its automatic and its not my account

What does that zip do?
