It's funny actually, i dabble in a few of these things and i know exactly what you mean. I started modding back on the PSP original, with the whole pandoras box and such. It becomes a sort of craving when you're using a device that limits freedoms, you know?

Psh...never bought a pandora. Modded the batteries myself on my PSP 1000/2000's...but screw those 3000's. Found out I couldnt do it with the upgraded battery, traded it out for a DS. Dementium: The Ward...just sayin
 
Speaking of portable gaming, I'm really not enjoying the android gaming scene. Maybe I should get into emulators, most android games installed on my phone are removed shortly after.

Back to the ROM, you know what I would really love?
Better network control. Since I'm inept, I don't know what that entails, but I wish I could somehow over clock or under clock the network radio or something.
Is anything like this possible? Also, battery control or improvement? Any cool feature has already been announced, and I am extremely excited. I want to help somehow, and a donate may come soon, but the most I can offer is suggestions.

I hear ya. Best game I still got on my phone (3 actually, Galaxy Nexus and SIII alongside this) is Badland and Dead Effect which is sad. Emulators are pretty much the way to go. Ps1/Psp/NDS emus have come a very long way and of course the classics can be played on a potato. Mix it with my MOGA Pro and I got a portable virtual console. Still doesnt beat the real thing imo but it gets the job done.

Modifying the radio is a really tall order and takes some serious knowhow. The CM port doesnt even have a working radio at this point. Ive never even heard of oc'ing the radio though I know devices that have modified radios to get better signal if thats what your after. Again, still a really big job. As for battery its really dependant on what is running in the background. Stuff like brightness, volume, watching videos, wifi and heavy gaming are leaches on the battery. Even most "battery saver" apps run heavy in the background to monitor your system, which is really counterproductive to their purpose. I can get 14+ hours with moderate use overclocked with rb's kernel but my phone for whatever reason loves the punishment.
 
Oh snap! Reflow soldered the gpu back in place on a friends laptop thats been out of commission for 6 months...and she gave it to me!

Well, has anyone else had issues with connectivity and speed of the 3g?
My issues mostly come and go, and once I've unthrottled its perfect. I just can't see anyone using this phone to tether. Or check their email on the basic network. Might be because I constantly use spotify though.
 
If ur having bad connectivity issues with good signal u should call vm and ask them to reprovision ur internet. It could also b that the server has a heavy load

Reprovision means they will tell you to turn off your phone while they simply send you the profile information ota, which is exactly then same as updating profile on your phone yourself. I'm not kidding. Thats all it is.
THE reason is your prepaid and throttled. No way out of it. Even I got caught back to crap speeds after I thought I broke their system. Turns out they are just as slow in the head as their towers are

Lol damn. I got unthrottled once by them. I just told them my network was unusable. But idk if they were supposed to do it but I got my speed back. And yea vm support doesnt support anything
