Root [ROM][4.1.2]AWE Inspired Moonshine White/Ginger V2.9a Final[Works with stock device]

Coming from other phones, we only had to wipe cache and dalvik cache. Since the instructions say format system, does that mean every time we try a rom we have to start fresh? Is there any way to preload apps after installing a new rom?

With new update will just need to format system, clear dalvik, and clear cache :), it will be released soon :D, many new cosmetic and functional features

Since this thread is more active than mine (work REALLY got me tied up for updates, sorry) I thought id ask here.

Anyone having really bad pop noises or warping audio when listening to music or playing games?

For example I'll play a song and every 10-20 seconds itll go *fweorp* then its ok for a lil bit then do it again and again. Another, I was just playing Jack and Jill (awesome platformer, highly recommend) and same issue. It even stutters the phone every time it happens. Its not a graphically intense game by any means and the music is 8bit retro so I dont understand.
I dont have this issue AT ALL playing really intense games like Black Ops or Dead On Arrival 2 so I'm soooo confused.
Anyone else have any of these issues on either stock, AWEsome or CMThemed?

Wow...so much work you guys put out on this! I think I may forfeit my rom because youve managed to accomplish everything I had planned...
This is TRUELY AWEsome

Would have been way more involved if I had internet at home, more time on my hands and a competent computer.

Seriously guys...amazing job ^_^

*smashes laptop* WHY YOU NO!!!!????

Still more to come in future releases :D

So jelly >_< but can't wait!

Think I may use this as my dd when I get a chance to actually download it

Be on the lookout for a total review on my YT when I get the time. Blows my rom out the water! Totally gonna expose it for all to see

Also think I may get to work on theming some of these apps.

so long as my computer doesnt wanna have another total conniption fit again. At least I can make myself useful lol

AWEsome thanks man, u were the inspiriting for me to make this :)

There's not a whole lot left theme wise...I think there's some tinkering to be done on the lock screen, aosp signal cluster, some dialer tweeks...what would really be nice is if kernel work resumed and we could throw a stable custom kernel under the hood. :D

Ask and you shall receive, :)
I started over from scratch with the kernel and gonna see how all this goes

Thanks for the response. Still a bit confused though, does format system make your phone factory reset? Everything gone? Should I back up things?

If you are coming from version 1.2 or later just wipe cache and dalvik and you'll be fine. No need to format system or data.

I'm still on stock ROM, I have just rooted and installed Phil'z recovery. So I assume format system is what I need to do, which means I need to back things up, correct? It will wipe everything?

Also, on Phil'z recovery, I see wipe data / factory reset, but I don't see any "format system" option after though. Should I skip that bit on Phil'z? Is that for the other cwm?

Also, there's two options for wipe data / factory reset: the standard "wipe data / factory reset" and "clean to install new ROM" - which should I pick?

U should clean to install new rom :D, this formats system for u, formating system doesnt delete any downloaded apps or data, just makes a fresh system partition. I recommend this as some orphan files/apps have been removed :D

Thanks, so just to make sure:

go to wipe data / factory reset - > clean to install new rom, then install the zip? that's it?

So I clicked clean to install new rom, and all my apps and data has been deleted... thought you said it wouldn't?

you said u were on stock rooted only rom, which requires complete data wipe, after that all updates can be applied by only formating system, wiping dalvik and cache, sorry for the confusion:)

I see. So, how do you format system without data wipe? Wiping cache and dalvik cache is easy enough, but I don't see any "format system" option in Phil'z recovery, can you let me know how?
