Root [Rom][5-26-12]Broken Out Spectrum 3.0 w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel

I am having a force close issue when I try to use the "Mobile Broadband Connect" (or USB tether). I have switched my USB connection to "Internet connection / Ethernet" to get the Mobile Broadband Connect to become selectable. However when I choose it, I get "The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

Is this a known issue? I could not find it in a search.

Are you overclocked? Mine tends to reboot at 1.8 but runs fine at 1.5 or 1.6.
And being severely underclocked can affect performance too. I went under 1200 and noticed some reboots from apps that didn't occur when I went back to 1400. I finally stopped using ADW... that damn app causes all my reboots, regardless of the data associated with the app.

Ditto. No over/under clock.
While flashing I get a no "sd ext" error but not sure what that means.

I.get the same reboots on BO as I do.on eclipse. Once it gets a bit bogged down..reboot. a couple times I've gotten "do not turn off. Update in progress" screen. Battery pull is only way to get out of it.

Maybe a formatted SD card w Only BO and the reboot fix and then try it again. Still thinking of ideas bit probably put 10-15 hrs into troubleshooting already

I restored to stock with the v4 cab file and re updated to v6 and flashed after getting reboots one time and have never had a problem since... Overclocked or underclocked ... Also I didn't restore my backups... used the market to reinstall everything and then backed up my apps and erased the old ones... Again I've had no issues since... Hope this helps :)

Still randomly rebooting. Happened once so far going in messages when it just rebooted from google maps, and many times with google maps. I have also noticed that when I'm connected to wifi, this doesn't happen. Seems to happen with an overload of the map processing. Lost as to what it could be.

Yes, can't seem to fix it. Tested stock again, it is not crashing on stock. I really don't know the problem. All I know is back to stock sucked so bad I would rather deal with the random reboots. Lol.

Have you had any permission errors...our tried to view cash reports to find the issue

Ya I was having issues a few weeks ago with reboots and was getting way frustrated. I cannot pinpoint what exactly it was that resolved my issue, but I did the following steps:Reboot (I was already running BO3)->reboot into recovery->wipe both cache partition and dalvik->factory data reset->reboot system. I used Tib and actually restored apps and data and have had no more reboots. I have no clue to what the cause is, but this has worked for me. Hope this helps.

Never had anything pop up for it. Where do I view them? I don't get any pop ups and it just stalls and reboots.

I've done the clean install total wipe, and have reflashed over installed BO. I have not tried a full reflash clean BO on top BO. Seems redundant to have to do that as it was clean to begin with with no data restore what so ever.

If you would, post a list of the apps you have installed. Reboots are usually caused by apps.

I use Wifi tether app. I am getting reboots when turning it off. What are the settings you guys are using? These are mine, Google nexusone, netd, mss clamping and routing fix checked. Everything else default.

Btw, I am on broken out 3.0. I am not getting any other reboots for any other reason.

Device profile should be 'Auto', not Nexus. That *could* be the cause for your reboots, since I've got mine set to auto and never encountered what you described.

First off, awesome rom! Its running much better than stock and battery is much improved thanks! My only problem is this, I use the stock mobile hot spot app all the time (I work for verizon so its free naturally), with this rom that feature is now gone! I've tried barnacle, grabbing apk's and pushing them into system/app, no matter what I try I can't get it to work, probably out of lack of experience and/or knowledge in the matter, how can I get that on this rom and where can I get the right info? Thanks in advance!

thats one of my only complaints with this rom. There are several stock apps I like that are missing. I'm not sure how to get the stock mobile hotspot running on this rom but if you want a solid third party one I recommend foxfi. To me it's the best of the lot.

Yea, FoxFi works for me, though I've had some issues with my phone dropping data connection while using it lately.

Doesn't it cost money to use the mobile hotspot app (it used to on my older phones)? That might be why MT removed it... other apps can essentially do the same thing, like Wifi Tether and FoxFi.

I have been reading some other phone forums and I think what we have missed in trying to reinstall stock apps is setting the permissions correctly after pushing the files back.

Of course you could always add the files to the Rom and flash it again without wiping.

So i tried this...or well a pretty messed up version of it...and it seemed to work.

Here's the story. Did everything you did here, but first I accidentaly restored a backup of BO 3.0 over the top of a stock v6. I did NOT do ANY cache or davalik clears (i know dumb huh). anyway it seemed to work so i went with it... I then did what you did below. it continued to work. COOL! I installed busybox from google play and updated it. installed TIB and did a program/date restore.

I noticed a couple things though. The default program that comes on BO 3.0 that can determine and change cpu speed and kernal was not installed. hmm.

seems to keep working and ive just got antutu score w/ no overclock of 5952 and "ondemand" still hesitant to change too much more at this point given the problems I've had w/ rebooting in the past.

hope this helps somebody. kinda feel like ben franklin, a key and a kite.

The thing crashes without any other apps running. The only background apps that run when this happens are the defaults in BO and Google Voice.

Installed apps are:
Antutu
Opera and Mini Next
TB
FuelLog (crashed before installed)
Play Music (crashed before installed)
ES File Explorer
My Verizon (crashed before installed)
AdAway (crashed before installed)
Zedge
G Map / Nav
GPS Status (crashed before installed)
Skype
Wells Fargo (crashed before installed)
Flash Player
Root Explorer (crashed before installed)
Camera ZOOM (crashed before installed)
4Sahred (crashed before installed)
Extended Controls (crashed before installed)
Tasker (crashed before installed)
The Weather Channel (crashed before installed)

Yea, nothing jumps out as apps that would cause a reboot, except Skype, which uses Java quite a bit from what I recall. It should be pretty benign in the background, though.

When you choose wallpapers, there are a few options for searching, like Gallery... you have Zedge, so do you ever use Zedge to search and apply wallpaper? Zedge *could* be a persistent memory user and even though it's not heavy Java app, that could throw an engine error when it goes into standby.

While that may be true, It rebooted itself long before I used Zedge for a wallpaper, before so was only tones. Reapplied through Gallery just in-case.

Think I will do a clean wipe this weekend, see what happens after.

So I think Google maps is the problem. I was running antutu no problem until I installed it. When I installed it I couldnt run antutu without a crash. I uninstalled that program only and now I can run antutu again. Going to look into it more using romtoolbox and see if I can narrow down the problem a bit.

Maps isn't the problem. The data you have for maps may be corrupt, but no one else has reported issues related to maps after the last update to the app.

But was antutu crashing or was maps fcing? Fcs are usually due to permission errors that can be fixed in rtb.
