For me tethering works just fine, just not through USB. I simply use wifi tethering. I'm having a hard time thinking of a situation where I would even prefer a tethered share, much less need it. Then again there are sure to be edge cases I haven't considered.
I've solved my slow GPS lockon times today. I downloaded a program called "FasterGPS". All it does is change the default server for loading local satellite data, but it worked like a champ. It seems the default one is some qualcomm server that can be incredibly laggy. I set it to a US based government server and it locks on within seconds. I mean so fast it's embarrassing, and I'm indoors! So, screw qualcomm. They don't have their user's best interests at heart. Anyway, it might be a good idea to change the default to something else. Mine's US centered though (us.pool.ntp.org), so hard to say what it should be.
I haven't noticed any ring tone related issues myself. I have noticed that every now and then the volume for music will drop rather notably and won't work right until I reset the system, but again, it's rare.
So far it's very stable, and having fixed my GPS issue, I'm prepared to use this as my normal day to day ROM. Sure the camera would be nice, but the important stuff is working and ICS already fixes a number of issues I had with stock. I've also set my governor to "smoothass" (ah hackers, stay classy) and set the minimum clock speed to the.... minimum. I'm getting enough battery power to go almost all day even with wifi set to "on" now. I also replaced the cyanogen boot animation with the ICS stock since it looks pretty trippy.
Oh, and I hate to be rude myself but, here's the way to tell if you're being rude: someone else tells you so. That's the thing about it. You can't just tell someone you aren't being rude. If they say you are, you are. Generally, demanding improvements from someone that's doing you a favor is rude. Try peppering in some understanding and appreciation and your requests may be taken better.

Note that just adding minor decor like please and thank you isn't quite enough to prevent this from sounding demanding and rude. Let's see if we can't spruce this place up a bit shall we?
"Alpha 0.6.16.0 for triumph must have been a lot of work. However, something I can't identify seems to make the phone over heat. One minor note: there is no USB tethering, although wireless tethering works fine. That in itself must have been a feat just getting wifi working. I've got a lot of good to say here, but any other feature or fixes you coudl find the time for would be much appreciated. Thank You."
That's much better! Try a few of these on for size next time. If it's hard to keep the exact wording, one trick I've found is to put down that copy of Atlas Shrugged and show genuine thanks and compassion for someone donating their time for your sake. The words tend to spring forth naturally at that point.
