Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

You need to be playing a song and then hit the Menu button for settings. Took me a while to find it too.

Edit: At least I think that's what it is since I don't recall ever seeing it there before. But I really wasn't looking either...

Actually, that option was there before and it used to take you to DSP Manager.

Not to complain or anything, but I really prefer DSP Manager over MusicFX. But I can always uninstall MusicFX.(done!)

Think it's ok to delete one of the galleries???

gapps link no file there

Fixed it. Looks like they removed that old version. I put up the link for the 2-13 GAPPS. Hopefully that version does not have the chinese number pad issue that the 2-15 version does. I haven't tried it so let me know either way.

It's probably ok. At worst, you'll need to reflash the rom.

Mantera could you please post in my USB host thread and atleased answer some questions or something it has your name on the thread...you should probably check it out. Thanks :)

For something like this I would use the Private Messaging function. No need to post in an unrelated thread to get someone's attention.

Go to settings > developer options > and check to see if "Show screen updates" is checked.

My guess, anyway.

just wondering why the boot animation looks kinda grainy. im guessing its just because it IS low quality, but does anyone know if theres a flashable higher quality version?

I used this boot animation from ROM Toolbox before CM9 was available and it looked the same, grainy & low res. I've looked for other downloads of it and can't find any. I think that's just the way it is unfortunately.

You know I really would love to know what eats my battery.. in less than 4 hours my battery went from fully charged to 51 percent full... thats crazy. :/

Here's the checklist I do to watch battery because I'm just OCD like that:

WiFi off?
Bluetooth off?
Sync off?
GPS off?
If you are in a low service area, is Data off?
- This is because in a low service area, your phone eats a lot of battery searching for signal.
Brightness not too high?
Check running apps, is one running that really ought not to?

Other questions:
What build are you on? Some of them had clock speed/sleep issues.
What are you doing on the phone, anyway?
And there is a slight chance the battery meter itself is out of whack, as well.

Usually, also, you can just check battery usage statistics, but that doesn't appear to be working yet.

I always have BT off. Wifi is on, because at work I have ZERO signal but im always connected to corporate wifi. It disconnects alot so that may have something to do with it too. I'm running 0.6.6

For the most part not doing very much.. but I do have my Exchange email setup and I get ALOT of emails (probably 20-30 during the day at work)

With wifi on all the time I get about 12-16 hours out of a charge. 0.6.6 doesn't deep sleep too.

Edit: With wifi off I was getting about 22h if I had decent service on 0.6.3-0.6.5.

0.6.6 doesn't deep sleep with WiFi on, and you said you always have it on, so there's part of it.

You said it disconnects a lot, which will eat battery by having to reconnect a lot.

You said you have zero signal, which will make your phone keeps trying to get a signal, which eats a lot of battery, so there's another part.

My advice would be to upgrade to 0.6.7 (solves deep sleep), turn on airplane mode at work (so your phone isn't constantly looking for a signal), and try not to just leave your phone sitting with WiFi on.

My problem with turning on Airplane mode is then my cell service (as bad as it might be) would be totally off and I can't do that having a 2 year old. :)

I just upgraded to 0.6.7, so let's see how that goes.

Understandable :) Sometimes ya just gotta prioritize, then.

Sorry if this has come up before but I can't connect to my work email (microsoft exchange) using this rom. It's not just .67 though I don't think I've ever been able to connect on this rom.

Is it just a feature that isn't working yet, or is it something I'm doing wrong?

Also, in gingerbread I used to be able to modify the power control widget to choose what toggles it had, but I can't seem to do that in this rom. Am I just missing it?

System Settings ---> System ---> Notification drawer ---> Widget buttons
That should clear that up. I'm not sure about the email. Do any emails work like live/gmail/yahoo/etc?

Keep in mind that CM9 is in Alpha, and so not everything is here yet... But a better built-in alternative is the notification bar power widget
Settings> System > Notification Drawer. It's basically the toggle widget always in your notification drawer. Configure it there.

Yeah I know about the drop down toggles but I kinda like having the ones on my homescreen as well, but you are right they aren't really necessary.

My gmail works fine, although I access that through the gmail app. I should try accessing my gmail through the email app though, good idea.

Sorry if I gave the impression of being pushy, I totally realize this is an alpha. I would just like to know if it's something that hasn't been addressed yet or it's something specific to me.
