Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

Mantera, to get the Messaging app to split sms, you just need make a change to this file:
/android/packages/apps/Mms/res/xml/mms_config.xml

Just change
<bool name="enableSplitSMS">false</bool>
obviously to
<bool name="enableSplitSMS">true</bool>

I just made that change, rebuilt, and pushed it and it is splitting again. Its annoying they removed that from the options as there are still a few carriers (like VM) that don't automatically split sms messages.

I just pushed up that change so it'll get included in the next build whenever that is. Thanks.

is it me or that this rom doesnt go into deep sleep mode? i made sure nothing excpet system apps were rnning in background.

My phone doesn't have a problem deep sleeping when wifi and bt are turned off.

Make sure that your wifi and bt are off by manually toggling them off. Don't rely on an app like Juicedefender to turn them on/off automatically. Apps like that don't seem to toggle wifi and bt off correctly to allow deep sleep from the reports of other users. I don't use JD so I can't speak from first-hand experience.

#1 I said I was fine with the progression of this ALPHA rom if u actually read what i had to say, why would u quote that part of me paraphrasing the guy that made that statement?

#2 I don't NEED a video. I already programming in many different languages and have used many different flavors of different operating systems over time, including Java/Android, so im not new to reading any type of documentation, online tutorial, book or researching bugs within open source software and coming up with solutions. but don't worry i didn't take ur assumption the wrong way.

I don't think a video would hurt in ushering in people interested in developing for the MT and bring attention to the failure i see on behalf of Motorola and/or Sprint/Virgin Mobile.

but thank you for letting me know that you haven't spotted one yet. You'd think some knowledgeable person would have created one by now...it is 2012 after all.

So for clarity, you're not working on any of the things listed as not working and dont know of anyone that is u say?

I have been following this thread since round about page 5. I'm not ready to use this ROM yet for a couple of reasons, and yet I am so *very* grateful for the work that mantera and others have done.

I've registered to post today for two reasons:

1) To offset posts like yours, making sure the devs involved in this project (is it just Mantera now?) can hear another person say "thank you for your work!".

2) To say that you, sir, have been arrogant and rude in your posts in this thread. You may be trying to ask legitimate questions, but your presentation as a non contributing random-forum-guy is *extremely* demanding of this small volunteer team. If you are offering to help, you are doing a poor job of showing it. If you are not offering to help, you have even less reason to behave the way you are. Your posts are confrontational, and non-constructive.

If this were a particular Seinfeld episode, and mantera were selling soup, I would sincerely hope there would be no soup for you.

I would imagine a post like this from a first time poster won't be so popular with the moderators. I'll take what they dish out, but respectfully ask that at least this post is not deleted.

Thank you mantera!

Edit: Directed at the wrong person. Please see my other post. Sorry!

Best. Post. Ever.

Self-righteous poop

I hang my head in shame. Though I did think the post I quoted from Supermandroid was confrontational and non-constructive, I also had him confused with murphylas who posted the original "something is wrong with this ROM" post about a page back.

So thanks for the thanks guys, but I directed my high horse at the wrong person. Doh!

/me slinks away...

(still excited about this ROM and super grateful to mantera though!)

Just to be clear I don't want to be confrontational at all. I just don't like others trying to silence people, rather it be a spectator or a developer. I understand work needed to be done to make the rom stable up until now. which is what i stated in my original post about this subject.

BUT now that we know that no one is working on those things listed as *not working*, maybe we can put out a call for other developers to help out.

I will start looking into creating custom android 4 roms and specifically for the MT myself.

I also found the multiple places to manipulate the camera inside an android rom after decompilation and all, so im kinda excited about that...i learned that from a video lol

I'll also find or create a better place to discuss fixing the camera for this rom and u can say whatever u like. An update is not even in Motorola's ICS upgrade plans. Pretty sad! This phone is pretty much a year old.

Installed CM9 and so far liking what I see. Can't seem to get rid of the extra homescreens though (I keep everything on 1). Help!

Thanks. Problem now is the home screen is set as the third screen. If I reduce the number down below 3 I lose that screen and all of my folders etc. Is there an easy way to fix that?

Another CM9 question: Does the long press back button to close an app work on here? Tried it and it didn't seem to for me. It just seems to cycle back through previous screens in the app.

Dude, I am not trying to censor you or anyone. We have a cm9 dev thread here which is also linked in the OP:

http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/488824-dev-continuing-triumph-ics-development.html

You or anyone else who wants is more than welcome to participate and join in. The community helps each other so that we can all enjoy an excellent rom.

Thanks. Problem now is the home screen is set as the third screen. If I reduce the number down below 3 I lose that screen and all of my folders etc. Is there an easy way to fix that?

The long press back button should work. It's disabled by default though. It's an option in one of the settings. I can't remember exactly where it is though atm. I don't have cm9 on atm to look.

I had the Google boot logo before in CM& and Miui. Can that be reflashed to work with CM9 or does it cause issues?

The boot logos should not have an effect on any rom.

You would have to move everything to the first two screens and then remove it. Same with the second screen.

I just want to give input that those of you who are working diligently on this ROM are appreciated - it is too bad that some who participate here assume this is some sort of right of theirs to expect fast work on their terms.
I know from experience that most if not all of you working on this are doing it on your own time with out any pay unless some one donates to the cause.
You are having to dig for every solution - "and I am sure the instruction manuals for programming for the MT and CM9 are perfectly non existent"

I am looking forward to this ROM and will try it out once it moves to Beta - I just hope those who "demand" and "complain" and are so "impatient" will just move to IOS or a Windows Phone.

Thanks and keep up the good work - let not the rabble rousers discourage you.:hello:
