I will start looking into creating custom android 4 roms and specifically for the MT myself.

I also found the multiple places to manipulate the camera inside an android rom after decompilation and all, so im kinda excited about that...i learned that from a video lol

I'll also find or create a better place to discuss fixing the camera for this rom and u can say whatever u like. An update is not even in Motorola's ICS upgrade plans. Pretty sad! This phone is pretty much a year old.

I have no idea why these kids feel so threatened and feel like they have something to defend. They're so quick to brown nose devs and administrators. It honestly pisses me off, especially when you had very valid points.
 
This works great for an Alpha build! Looking forward to more updates to make it even better! A couple of things I have noticed just in things I use on it:

1) My weather app that sits up in the status bar seems to disappear whenever a notification comes in. Then after a few minutes it will reappear.

2) Does flash not work in Chrome? I tried searching back through the thread guessing this has been stated but could not find it.

3) Sometimes it takes a few touches on the screen to get something to open. Assuming this response will improve as they upgrade CM9. Sometimes I have not problems but occasionally it gets laggy.

4) Last night when making and receiving some calls the first few times the phone call would work for 4-5 seconds and then the phone would hang up. On the 4th or 5th try it finally stayed through the call.

5) Just curious as to why the Hulu app works fine but the Netflix and crackle ones don't? Are the apps just built that differently?

1. I assume that the status bar is refreshed back to blank when a notification comes in and your app doesn't reappear until it refreshes the status bar. Not sure if there's anything that can be done for this at this time.

2. chrome does not have flash.

3. I've noticed that too. I think that it's just crappy touchscreen hardware since it happens in all roms-at least for me. Otherwise, if for some reason, it's not a hardware issue, then it's a touchscreen driver issue and I think that is about as well optimized as it's going to get for now with the fixes that Whyzor put in without somebody else spending some time looking into that further.

4. I've never experienced that issue. Did you have signal? Also did you reboot at least once after flashing the ROM before you noticed this?

5. Not sure as to the exact reason. The only thing I can guess at this time is as you said, they are just using different parts of the omx graphics code which apparently, we don't have in our build atm.
 
I did have signal and had rebooted right after set up like the instructions said.

Another quirky thing I remembered from last night: Using the Phillips dock had the phone on the dock hooked to Bluetooth. Was running the Relax and Sleep app. The sound was fine as log as the screen was up. As soon as I would turn off the screen the sound would cut in and out and get really choppy. Did that with both wifi or data running.

Try a different governor and/or raise the lower limit on your clock frequency. It sounds like you're set too low when the screen is off and it's being locked in place.

Mine was doing that before also. Im using the interactive governor and sio scheduler and it's not doing it anymore.

InteractiveX, from what I've heard, will lock your clock setting to the lowest available frequency when the screen is off. In your case, the lowest frequency was too low. Interactive doesn't lock the frequency like that.

Smart ass v2 is also pretty good. I use that one most of the time. It doesn't lock the frequency either.
 
I switched from Miui GB version last night. Well, I wish it had a camera, but man this is nice. I thought the battery icon was hosed, so I just checked my stats and 11hrs and 61% remaining. On Miui it would be at 10-20% right now. With Miui I seemed to have a devil of a time getting a bluetooth connection everytime with the JVC headunit in my truck but so far 4 times today it has linked right up and started streaming Pandora! Me likey so far.

It still doesn't make up for the suckiness of the radio. data and phone suck. My co worker has an OV and he gets 400-900k downloads with his phone sitting right next to mine getting 40-120k. And now for about the last week I don't get phone calls in my office. I can make them but my phone goes straight to VM. I checked today and my signal is 24dbm weaker than my co-workers OV sitting right next to it.

Oh well, they are going to quit reimbursing us for cell phones at work and get us ATT phones. I was pissed at first, but now I hope at least ATT phones will work and someone else can pay the bill. I have to find out what we can choose from.
 
Very impressed with this ROM, after using wyzors last build of reloaded cm7 I don't think I ever want to go back to gingerbread. For an alpha everything is so fluid. As for what someone said earlier about the touch screen I have noticed it's been less responsive than cm7. I'm using interactive as well and there is a skip in audio when I wake the phone, though I haven't noticed before. Overall very nice and I look forward to future releases. If I knew anything about programming I would help, but thanks to all.
 
I was wondering if there is a way to limit the amount of recent apps it stores. If you hold down the home button, it has a lot of apps it's storing. Can you limit those to save some memory and make it faster?

You should not need to worry about that. It will automatically kill apps as it needs memory. You can remove apps from the list by swiping the app in the list to the right or left.

Ok, the new update..

I've successfully to port libcamera without need Overlay patch, the modification is done with heavy modifying on libcameraservice, libcamera_client, camera.fb0 also lot of modification on kernel.

So, for now is no need to full recompile the system, to get camera working.

By the way, ardx haven't finished the new cm9 rom, still have problem on wifi and other stuff.
So I've make the patch for fixing camera problem, here is the patch:

I've test the patch on edowar alpha5 and also on ardx build's, the Camera is working, but the Video recording will crash.
Camera recording can be fixed by modifying Camera.apk (compiling from source), and also modifying the media_profiles.xml.

But, now we have new problem. with using my kernel, we will have wifi problem.
the ardx kernel's have wifi problem too.
I don't know what edowar have changes on the kernel, so the wifi can only work with his kernel.

I Will Just For Today and Sunday. i have 2 MT, one has to go back to them on Monday if not i am going to lose my account its already 1 week seen i got the new one... this one must go out by Monday. I Will Post What i get In about 45 mins or so. :)
