Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

On my pc, it downloads fine. I just tested. So if it keeps failing for you guys, you might have to use a computer to download the file.

Yeah I'll have to wait till I get home then cuz it wont let me finish downloading. I think its cuz it runs outta memory or idk

does this kernel update mean anything on getting closer to camera compatibility?

Maybe, no, and yes

Maybe- it might help; at the very least, it gave me a lot of practice and learning on kernel patching and building.

No-it probably doesn't directly help but it won't hurt.

Yes-it's another item off my plate so I can put more attention on playing with the other kernels. I hate leaving stuff half finished so when I get bored/frustrated with fixing errors in the other kernels, I go back and throw a few more patches/fixes on the old one just for a change of pace.

"Insanity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results."

If no one works on the camera problem, then the camera problem will never get fixed.

The 10 million dollar question is "who is working to fix the camera?"

My suggestion to those working on this project is work on the camera and nothing else. After the camera is fixed, work on other things.

There is a Chinese company that hired one Chinese programmer to update all of their android devices to ICS. All of the devices now work including HDMI out, cameras, everything.

Motorola has a team of programmers which can't seem to get anything to work. They install old versions of Android on their devices and refuse to update some of their devices. For other devices, it takes Motorola practically forever to update.

Is it time for a Motorola boycott?

Haha, I just upgraded to 6.13 last night and posted this morning. Now 14 is out. This is fantastic. Though the problems may be fixed, I will still post difficulties I had through the day with 6.13 compared with 6.11. I figure the feedback may help a poco.

- Haptic feedback sluggish
- Messaging self closes after sending text
- Internet and Facebook pages freeze up but promptly load fully without fail once I hit reload or stop the app and return
- Received a call from an unknown number, when I checked my call history, the phone automatically added the number as a second number for my first contact entry

That's about all I found with my brief 6.13 bout. The backlighting I was refering to is the lighting behind the 4 function keys below the touch screen. That lighting stopped for me in 6.13 and no adjustment of automatic backlighting resolved it.

Okay ... on to 6.14. Thank you so much for keeping the dev up with this phone.

**EDIT** Changing the settings on the Google Maps page didn't change the units on my phone. Any other ideas?

Yo dont you think if it was that easy to fix the camera that they would have done it by now, read all the post over the past months everyone saying and asking the same thing. Just relax when they can get the camera working they will you act like they are delaying on purpose. We are lucky enough to have ICS if you want the camera switch to CM7

I can't download anything from mediafire can I get a dropbox link from one of you guys I'd really love to try the new update

If you're having issues with mediafire blank page on your phone, just change the user agent in the settings of your browser.

The Chinese company "hired" someone. This means that someone was paid to work on this fulltime. None of the developers here are getting paid a living wage to work on this fulltime. You can try to "hire" someone too.

If they focus only on the camera and nothing else, what if it takes 2 months to fix the camera? You really want no new builds for two months? What if it takes longer? BTW, how long did it take the guy the Chinese company hired to do it?

Motorola. Their products work no better or worse than those made by other makers. Manufacturers make updates by contract with carriers like Virgin Mobile. If there is no update for your phone, it is because the carrier does not want you to have it or does not want to pay for it.

If the camera is that important to you, there are plenty of roms with working cameras. Why did you pick a rom that doesn't have a working camera?

I tried changing the user agent but still receive the mediafire blank page. Does anyone have any other ideas what on how I can fix this. unfortunately I don't have access to a computer at the moment. I can't wait to check the new update out. Thanks to all the devs for your hard work, I have a great respect for all of you.

Maybe try a different browser? Opera, Dolphin, stock...etc.

The updates over the past 2 months have been very miniscule. Other than adding a few features here and there, there's not that much of a difference between this build and a 1-2month old build.I'd much rather have a camera working than these super small new features. Isn't that how production goes anyway? Get the BIG main things out of the way, then you work on the small things. I almost feel like these updates are just to keep us under the illusion that there's still hope.

Guys, mantera has a life. Please let him develop and give thanks to him. If you want to complain, try coding it yourself! Binary blobs are the reason for so many issues in coding, and that is likely why HDMI and the camera have been such a pain. Read the description on the first page, and it clearly says that a kernel update may solve the camera and Netflix issues. If you want a stable ROM, use CM7. I'm sure that mantera appreciates the bug reports, but not constant nags over "What's the status of feature x?" This is what drives the devs away.

How do we fix the back lighting on the soft keys again?

the backlight has settings inside display, but there is also some for display and soft keys(captive buttons) inside the cyanogen setting usually, i actually think the advanced backlight setting may control the soft keys

and ive got nothing but love for all the hard work mantera's putting in here, lately we've been seeing updates faster and there including lead way into fixing other issues

but

the camera is non-important to pretty much most of us, were used to it and ok with it not working, especially in alpha stage, and the little fixes and tweaks are for stability, the truth is our phones are Only supposed to run froyo, just the fact that we all can get gingerbread and ics because of the devs work is amazing, and there arnt 1 million devs working on this so there isnt 1 person assigned to fixing it, most roms have 1 dev, who usually give thanks to oterh devs who thru there hats in for fixes and helped out
