Root [ROM][AOSP]dGB v01_28_2012| 2.3.5| 375MB /data| 60MB /system |Mult-lang |Unlock |Reboot[28 Jan]

It's worth noting on the 2.0.5 kernel 2 things.

1) the default voltages are higher. This was done so it was stable for more people out-of-the-box.

You may not be aware but dgb has a script /system/etc/init.d/95havsvdd which was set to lower the lowest 2 voltages, namely 128 mhz and 245 mhz. If 1.4 was stable on dgb, you may find that you will want to edit this script further in 2.0.5 to compensate for the additional voltage.

2) unlike 1.4, 2.0.5 no longer lowers WiFi power draw by default. It can be set to do so in the same script.

If anyone is interested, my script I am using now is below. I now change all voltages that I may use. Also added WiFi power as I do want to lower it when screen off:

Code:
 #!/system/bin/sh

sleep 30

echo 19200 875 950 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 128000 875 950 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 245000 875 975 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 384000 900 1000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 422400 925 1025 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 499200 950 1050 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 614400 1000 1150 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 729600 1050 1175 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 844800 1125 1225 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 921600 1150 1275 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 998400 1150 1275 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 1036800 1175 1275 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 1075200 1200 1300 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 1113600 1225 1300 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 1152000 1250 1300 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels_havs

echo 1 > /sys/module/bcm4329/parameters/wlLowPower

The above doesn't display too well in the app for me...

Hi

I have been using this ROM for a couple of weeks now and loving it. However I have one little issue.

I'm trying to play a AAC stream through an app (XiiaLive Lite) and it appears to recognise the stream (32kbps AAC+ 44.1kHz 2ch) and buffers then gives an error - "android media failure 1|unknown".

The stream I am using is [FONT=&quot]'[/FONT]player.arn.com.au / alternate / 973fm.pls' (Please reassemble - I can't put a link in my first post :))

I just tried what appears to be the same stream (just shows 32kbps AAC) using the Tunein Radio app and it plays ok. Using a different app isn't really an option though as I am using Tasker to start and stop the streams through XiaaLive.

An issue that isn't really affecting me but may be related is that the stock music app force closes whenever I try to open it.

Hoping someone has some ideas on what the problem could be...

Well it's bad news for me with this kernel, i have 2 camera apps and both fc on me, i tried restoring my nandroid I made prior to flashing this kernel but the problem is still there, ive reflashed the rom and still no good, gonna have to wipe and start all over again :-(

Did you install the stock app separately?

If the issue is still there with a different kernel, doesn't sound like the kernels fault. Reflash 1.4 kernel?

OK thanks. Just flashed the kernel. I'll see how the GPS works tomorrow.

Sadly my gps doesnt want to play ball with this new kernel either. I've returned to the Redux kernel & immediately the gps is back & lightening fast.

I really dont have a problem with using the Redux kernel. I works well for me.

Very very wierd, i did try flashing 1.4 but it made no difference, so then I did a full wipe and reflashed dgb, still camera didn't work, so I then changed the mtd and tried redux 2 and still the camera didn't work, do I've then rechanged the mtd and restored the original nandroid and now it works, very bizarre.

Sounds similar to an issue you had before doesn't it?

If so perhaps cmtd is not best for you..

Defo sounds like it, will have a look at downgrading and flashing the hboot when I can be bothered, its working again now so ill leave it, what's the process to go back to a hboot, i have to flash the recovery again don't I?

Flashed the old sense rom, still had issues, tried an older radio that didn't help...so god knows, I spoke to HTC support and they said im gonna have to send if off for repairs which is a bummer. So it must be my phone rather than your ROM or any others...

You'll have to RUU it before sending it back (dont forget to flash the downgrade.img hboot first). You may well find that that will actually fix the issue.

Ok, is that to set s-on? And yea il see if it works if I go back to stock before sending it off. And where can I find information regarding downgrading the hboot? Cheers

you fastboot flash the downgrade.img which you need to download from the alpharev.nl website. Read the adb and fastboot faq here, skipping adb section as irrelevant.

You will HAVE to do this before sending it back or your warranty will be void.

I have managed to come off custom mtd and am now running the 65mb hboot, what a job, thanks to dan for your help! The only issue I had was when I flashed the hboot and restored the hboot it hung at so serious screen for ages, so I pulled the battery and went back into fastboot and then recovery and I got e:can't find \recovery\cache\log so I re ran the nandroid restore and this time it booted, i think what caused this was because I didn't reboot bootloader before running restore, i noticed after flashing the hboot it was still saying cm7 when it should have said dgb, anyway after 2nd boot into fastboot it showed the right hboot and booted fine. Phew, not looking forward to doing all that again, cmtd is soo easy in comparison. More lessons learned in the great rooting scheme of things! :-D

Yeah consider it lesson learned, and the daft thing is I did do that when I flashed cm7. Oh well at least it worked ok. I take it that's what the can't find recovery cache log was all about?

Now I'm mega confused! Went through the hboot stuff, and after I did it all my camera worked, just tried it again and its not working, its got to be hardware related, and i cant return it to htc coz I dropped it down the loo so all water markers are red! I guess I'll just have to try a full wipe and fresh install. I really can't understand why it works one minute and not the next? Any idea fellas?

When did you last flash a radio? Camera is partly controlled by that too, believe it or big

I've never flashed a radio I'm still on the one it came with! Which is the latest one? I'll give it a whirl if you think it will help. Just always been a bit nervous of flashing the radio. Don't want to brick it. The daft thing is the camera works, well I can see the image I want to take but the button doesn't come on or the card counter, when I press the shutter button I just get "camera needs to force close"

I'm on 5.11.05.27 at the min and i see the latest one is 5.17.05.23 is that the best one to try? And would I have to flash the ril aswell?
