Mine started doing something like that a few weeks ago. I didn't get the SIM warning icon, though sometimes toggling airplane mode failed to fix it and in those cases that icon would appear. A reboot always fixed it.

Mine was due to the SIM starting to fail. Once it became a nightly problem rather than an occasional one it was easy enough to confirm this (borrow a SIM overnight and the phone maintained connection), and a replacement SIM fixed the problem.

Dan Im confused by your reply :-D

Hadron. thanks. will monitor and try your suggestion.
I noticed the other day that signal had dropped to 1 bar,
and reboot restored that

cheers

ah I see. but I think reboot is only a temp fix as I have had issue before along with
low signal strength. so could be as Hadron suggested

I had no signal strength issues, just that when left idle for an extended time the phone would drop the cellular signal (no matter how strong the signal was) and not attempt to regain it. Though I did manage to trigger the effect a couple of times by turning the screen off while it was changing network modes (2G to 3G).

It's hard to interpret low signal from a single incident. A low signal could just mean that it had hung onto a more distant cell, in which case anything that forced the phone to rescan, such as a reboot or just walking out of that cell's coverage, would fix this. If it keeps happening, especially in locations where you know what you'd normally expect, then it becomes more suspicious.

None? It doesnt flash to /system (mtd3)

It flashes to recovery (mtd1). Different partition all together

mtd0 /misc
mtd1 /recovery
mtd2 /boot
mtd3 /system
mtd4 /cache
mtd4 /userdata

When exactly does it say "Not enough space"? What specifically are you doing?

easy as hey!! wiped cache in root explorer, booted in recovery seems ok no error message , but nothing to do in recovery just says recovery is ready with the 4ext logo , that normal

shoulda stuck with cwm 2,0,5,7

I can't answer your question. I don't think it's available. I do, however, have a question for you:

I am currently using the latest version of Oxygen because I understood it to be the best for battery life but I'm not really finding any better than dGB. How do you think it compares?

hi guys,

just got a miui fan on to dGB, but to my horror :D he cant save the apns when adding em :/ any ideas? i can only think of reflashing

To use autoflow in the stickies browser , either double tap to zoom or the + - buttons at the bottom right. Pinching doesn't work I'm afraid. I tend to pinch to required level then double tap after to correct.

Yeah for some reason Pinch doesn't reflow on AOSP. Double tap to zoom does, which is what I use. Like Jon said (who obviously points people to the sticky threads as his phone corrected stock to stickies ;) ) you can pinch then tap to correct

No I wont either! I wont go ICS either (well certainly not right now). i think I am dGB for life...(of my desire)
