Same here, just set my gov/scheduler to what I want....will probably wait til the RLS final is out, then flash that.:)
I must say, I dont have the issues of missing widgets/apps upon reboot now like I did with .44....nice:)
The only thing I can find, or install, is the swype keyboard that I had with .44
I even pulled the apk from .44 and tried to install on .500 but it failed installation:confused:

Try just copying over it with root explorer. Permissions will need to be rw-r--r--
 
I actually did lose my Widgets after running TB, but once I set them up I haven't had a problem. Its hard to gauge if this rom is actually better than .44, but it is running really awesomely I might upgrade to rc2 just so that the deadline scheduler is defaulted instead of pushed with rom toolbox though.
 
What are the requirements to flash this rom? My friend wants a new ROM and he doesn't know how. I want to flash this without bricking his phone. Please help.

I would recommend the recovery posted in post 2 of that thread, but AmonRa should suffice...just make a nandroid backup, wipe very well, then flash rom, then gapps in the same recovery session.
Not required, but helpful, a partitioned sd card.
If partitioned, flash DTa2sd. after rom flash...link posted in post 3 of the op on xda.

Is that what you mean?

That helps with what recovery i should use. But do I need to have S-off or anything else like that?
 
I see that you're posting the same questions on the threads for both Deck's and Papasmurf's roms. I suggest you pick one and work on that one for now
 
I ended up flashing rc2 right over rc1, worked like a charm. All settings and apps were retained. All I had to do was flash my Droid logo font, and delete the system apps I didn't want. And as jamieg said on the xda thread, scrolling seems way more lightweight and overall the system seems more responsive. Anyone wondering whether or not to flash this, this is hands down the most top notch gb rom for the evo, you will not be disappointed if you like aosp roms!

if you are unlocked with s-on you can still do everything that a normal rooted s-off phone can do. it is just you cannot install any unsigned files that is not from HTC in the bootloader.

just make sure that you make a nandroid backup first and wipe properly before flashing and you are good to go. and read the op very carefully as well.

Really? No loss of data or apps?? What did you wipe, if anything, before the flash? Just cache and dalvik? I gotta try that!:)

most should be fine, but the devs are like mik who does each rom update from the ground up then you might have issues flashing it that way. i'm pretty sure that most are not like this. just throwing this out there and to make sure that you read the op to be sure.
 
Gotcha, and the reason I asked was in the op of the rom....
How To Flash
Code:
1) Download rom to sd and verify md5
2) Full wipe when coming from another rom or version upgrade.
3) Flash 500
4) Flash Gapps
5) Reboot

"version upgrade" would mean to me, full wipe when coming from rc1 to rc2.:)

Edit: although, not much did changed from rc1 to rc2..just the kernel, cpu min/max and scheduler I think

I wiped nothing actually, but I had to reflash a2sd, vipermod, my kernel, you know all the goodies. I've never had a problem jumping from rom to rom Like this as long as its aosp.

Thanks, but I think I'll wait til the next update as I flashed my original kernal and set my own min/max cpu settings, scheduler and a2sd and "checked" the "set at boot" box.

I'm not gonna kill myself over this but it's odd I cannot install it.

On your pc use 7zip or winwar to open up the swype.apk
navigate lib/armeabi/ In here are two lib files. Extract them.

Next place those two libs files on your sd card and then move them to the system/lib directory on your phone. Set permissions to match other lib files, rw-r-r.
Then put swype.apk where it usually goes and fix permissions again and then reboot.
Now it should work I think :)
