Well, don't get me wrong, I like Apex. I just like the stock theme and launcher a LOT. You can call me newly converted blur fanboi. :) I just wanted try out Fab's great work! (for which I donated! ;))

I hope I gave enough for that sorgham beer. Anyway, first time I dropped my DX on the car dock, got a reboot, came up no prob. I also sometimes look at the Huffington post app, and on 'stock rooted' GB I had a lot of FCs, but your Beta is way betta, no probs with this app so far.

Everything else seems peachy, but I know it's just the honeymoon phase.
 
another quick (not so important Q) I let bootstrap create a backup. I'm wondering, if I wanted to return to this backup after updating the kernel, I'd be SOL... correct?

Cmon fanboi apex is the shizznitz, gingerblur iz n't evan on dat same levelz az apexz

... But yeah apex 2.0 is literally like 1,000 times faster than the original gb leak for me.

It was so slow that it took like 2 minutes to just make a call, and like 30 seconds to end one. Everything was messed up on reg gingerblur.

I switched to apex, and its like buying a new phone again.
 
You guys know I had to come back and say what's up. Flashed this on my old DX (now the wife's phone) love it. especially love that you can add what pieces of blur you like (camera primarily) Always love apex, and glad to see its still kickin with GB! Now if we can just get some GB love on the Thunderbolt!
 
This might be the best Apex ever. It's the fastest I've seen my Dx running, and the battery life is amazing (I went 20 hours and it only went down to 70%).

Also getting the highest quadrant scores ever (from ~1500 on stock GB to 1700 on Apex).

You guys are getting some really low scores on stock GB......I'm getting in the 1850's stock.
 
overclocked at 1.25 i scored a 1601 so lets not complain people...lol but i don't notice anything...slick rom
 
Is calendar working for anyone? I exits as soon as I try to run it. Calendar sync doesn't work either. I've enabled Calendar sync on my account but when I try to sync it quits and shows an exclamation mark.

hey fab, now that the info has come out about the upgrade path to official GB (whenever it hits), will Apex be able to run on the new build?
 
Can anyone tell me (without assumptions) if the aosp camera included with apex 2 beta records in HD 720p?

Edit: the resolution show Width: 1280 Height: 720. That sounds like 720p to me, but I don't know how to confirm it.

I know, I'm not Fab, but according to P3Droid's tweet, it looks like there will be enough changes that ApeX will need to be modified/updated to be compatible.

Like always, enjoy the new ota when it comes out, and wait till Fab tells us its ok to run whatever version of ApeX he tells us we can run on it...

I know what you are feeling. Apex is so smooth though...and it just works.
However, I do like the colours that Motorola used. Actually, I do feel a tiny bit guilty. We have all complained that Blur was awful. Moto puts out what appears to be a very high quality product and some of us won't be using it. I am sure the tinge of guilt will go away when the OTA comes out and everyone is using GB on their X's.

You don't get double - there's a central database of text messages. You just get two notifications. You can either go into the AOSP app and turn off notifications or delete the apk from /system/app. I don't remember the apk name.

No need to feel guilty. If you never complain things always stay the same. At least this time it "seems" like they listened.

What bouchigo said.
You have TWO messaging apps in /system/app. One called messaging.apk and the other, sms.apk (If I remember correctly).
You need to delete/freeze one.
