Just installed from Kangerade. Didnt like 0.2.1 BB but v.4 is working great. Did data/cache wipe. getting a 1066 quadrant score, stock. I have a Ryu Hadoken boot up, mario live wallpaper all video game geeked out.
 
3d app drawer is gone in 0.4 is the big thing I've noticed. Other than that I think it's just efficiency mods.
 
Still working for me after doing a nandroid, trying the most recent CM Alpha (would not work for me) and then nandroiding back to this.

That alone tells me this is a very compatible ROM...if I (with my haunted Droid that hates Froyo) can leave bbv0.4 and come back again, that's saying something.

Changelog isn't much different. Mostly it's just current with the Google release. v3 and v4 have been great releases. Using Chevy ulv 1ghz @700mhz. Amazing battery life.
 
Went from Nexbeast 1.1 to this ROM with Fab's Nexbeast Theme and Chevy's 1.1ULV kernel. Wiped data/cache, restored data from previous setup without problems. 1571 Quadrant score currently. Had not run Quadrant before, but this is super smooth and fast. May try a different kernel later to see if this tolerates 1.2 or 1.25.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one missing the kewl new app tray. I agree if it was removed for speed reasons, it's acceptable, but I would still like the option to enable/disable. If i want a laggy ass app tray then why not let me? :confused:

And before I start coming off as ungrateful/whiny etc etc...thank you for the build Pete, shiz is phenom. I get paid friday, i'll be buying you a beer via paypal soon. :cool:

If you use Launcher Pro, there is a setting to turn the 3d tray back on:

1. hit settings button from Home screen
2. select preferences
3. Advanced Settings
4. Use 3d drawer
 
So I got a Droid last week and it came with 2.2 already on it, after a lot of research on what I'm doing and how to do it, I decided to unroot and start from scratch. I'm planning on using this rom, but I'm not sure which kernel to use (or where to download them at). Can anyone drop some knowledge on this newb and point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Did u buy it from someone who already rooted it and put 2.2??? Why would you want to unroot it. You have to be rooted in order to put BB v.4

Yeah, I got it from someone who had rooted it. I know I'll have to reroot if I do this but I felt it was the best thing to do to find out what I'm doing and I'm also not sure what kernel/Rom are running on my droid currently. Would i just be better off to backup, wipe data and cache then just flash v.4?
 
Ok.....Well I'm just goin to wipe and reflash. This is weird. Didn't have issues anytime b4, so I'm just gonna reflash and see what happens.


EDIT: Wiping worked. Took a while because I got FCs on a few things after wiping and flashing. It's running perfect aside from the network issue everyone seems to have with Maps...
 
I need help guys.. I have not flashed this yet, because I was reading through to see if there was any difference.. but w.e I will flash in a bit..

My issue is that i can NOT get any videos from my gmail to play at all. Either while using Video Player or Movies when I am first asked to pick one. I pick both after one doesnt work and I can NOT get any video to play at all...

I need help with this =[

I believe that this is due to 2.2 .. i have not flashed back to 2.1 to find out if that is true but eversince 2.2 video playback from gmail has shut down. even if i save the vids and play from gallery.. i have a blank spot where the video should be.. =[

Just dropping in to say I updated my 2.1 ROM to BB .4. Did a complete wipe after backing up. .4 is running smooth so far. No problems I can detect. Got everything reloaded fine.

I'll report back if any issues come up.

Did a wipe just for the hell of it (was running .3) and this baby is running smooth, cool and fast with Chevy's 1000 kernel and the ADW launcher. I have not using themes for a while just to keep things simple. I did have a problem with Swype but a search lead to this post which got it up to par:

All in all, BB .4 is running great except for my inability to connect by WIFI to my Belkin router (no problem with any 2.1 ROM). All in all, one great ROM. Thanks Pete!
 
Flashed this morning and no problems at all (thus far). Thanks again, Pete.

BTW, I ALWAYS wipe no matter what
