I'm getting an error message when trying to install the Adobe Flash APK, "could not open /mnt/sdcard/._com.adobe.flashplayer-1.apk as APK file" That's when using Astro to run it. Using Root Explorer I get a parse error, "There is a problem parsing the package." I'm using the version available here.

Any help?

Edit: NVM, the 4th or 5th time was the charm. Strange.

So has this supposed Verizon tethering tracker affecting BB 0.4 as announced on Phandroid or is it only the raw form of FRF84B

Anyone having problems with losing 3G connection. I've been testing this Rom all day and I noticed my phone keeps on jumping between 3G and 1x...sigh...Certain places where I know should be a full 3G bar is 1x. :(

My 3G connection, as well as bluetooth, wifi, GPS, maps & navigation, are all working PERFECTLY!!!

I looked at that post, and realized I was on Wifi, but only had 2 bars (normally all 5).

So I switched off Wifi, waited like 5 minutes and still didn't have a 3G connection, still only 1 or 2 bars. I switched into airplane mode, and back off...immediately 5 bars and 3G.

Weird.

I read somewhere on another forum to switch to airplane mode and back to get the 3G back.

Boy, stay away for a few weeks and things are light years ahead. This is my first Froyo ROM. Got Chevy's 1.1 Ghz ultra low voltage kernel running very well. Stable and FAST with Flash to boot. Awesome. I guess if I come back in another few weeks these phones will be plotting the takeover of the world.

on my phone. Any ROM based on FRF84b. Anybody else?

There's an update to the widget which corrects the 3G killing. To fix it without updating, just load up the data connection button in the widget and enable/disable/enable it. Your 3G will come back...or just update the app.

Okay, really stupid question here from a Droid novice: I've got my Droid running 0.2 and it's just the way I want it. Everything works perfectly. Is there a pragmatic and tangible reason why I should load up 0.4 other than just having the baddest, bestest, newest ROM? Is there any real benefit to wiping and starting things over? What is it with FRF84 that is so improved as to compel me to shake things up again?

I'm braced for your response :p THANKS

Just a heads up, the updated launcher pro 0.6.4 does not play nice with bb froyo. Issues going from portrait to landscape, and scrolling isn't near as smooth either.

Honestly I don't think u need to wipe data, just apply the update.zip over what u already have. And if u run into problems, wipe and reinstall. But an advantage to me was it was more stable.

Thanks for the reply. Mine has never rebooted (except if I hit the volume rocker and power button, GRRRR) or looped. So stability is not an issue for me. I guess that having the newest ROM will just make it easier to upgrade to the next REALLY baddest ROM

This is the first ROM I have installed so thanks a lot for posting this!

I haven't done anything with my kernel yet. I am sure I can figure out how to install it by reading up on the forums, but I'm a little confused as to which one to get.....I see a lot of people like chevys and that's probably what I'll go for mostly because it seems to be the most popular. I tried searching but I kinda think this stuff is evolving so fast that a search from even a month ago might not give me the info I need up to date today. Any recommendations?

Titanium Backup will put your desktops back the way they are. MyBackup Pro will restore all your data including your text messages and such. There is minimal effort to wiping it and starting clean.

Pete tweaked a lot of things. My Droid today with BB.04 never exceeded 95 degrees Fahrenheit. That has never happened before under any circumstance. Usually I hover around 120 degrees.

Boot ups are the fastest I've ever seen.

My battery life has improved significantly.

Pete has obviously put some time into tweaking this rom to be optimized specifically for the Droid. It is so good I don't know how he can possibly make it better than it is now.

Do a full back up first. Then Chevy 1.1 Ghz ultra low voltage. Copy to root of SD card then install via ROM manager (install ROM from SD card and find the kernel). Don't forget to install SetCPU and set up your profiles. This one is running very well for me.

You need to install ROM Manager. Get it in the Market. It has everything you need.

You seem to be having a lot of success with this ROM. I just installed it, and just wondering, do you have any kernels installed like chevys low voltage kernels and such, or are you running the original ROM?

Wow, just installed thanks to your guys help....can't believe how much faster it is now. This site and this forum rock.

With setcpu I set charging/full to 1.1ghz min 250 and then I created one for if the battery gets below 40% to go to 900 max and 250 min. Does that sound alright?

My score is at 1257 now, up from 1066 when I was using stock kernel.
Actually, I just killed all the processes running and ran it again and now my score is up to 1369!

I pretty much use Titanium Backup for everything. It's pretty much a one stop shop for all you need for rooted backups. But when restoring, don't restore anything listed in red. Remember green means go and red means stop..

How exactly do I get TiBU to do that??? That would be a lifesaver!

You can download TiBU from the market. You'll need the full version. Once you install, do a backup of all apps and data. I would also download MyBackup Pro - I use both because they both do different things - and back up your data with MyBackup Pro. When you install BB.04, open the Market and click the Downloads button and you will see Google download your apps. This won't get everything, so open TiBU and click Batch and then click Restore Missing Apps + Data. Then, in TiBU again, select Restore All Programs and Data. When it gets to LauncherPro (or whatever launcher you're using), it will reconstruct all your homescreens (you will have to redo your widgets though, there will be messages that they didn't load properly). When TiBu finishes, do a data restore with MyBackup Pro and then reboot your Droid. Everything will look the same as it did with the new rom as it did with the preceding rom!
