lol ok this might sound like a dumb question but where does ROM manager download bb v0.4 to? I can't find it, I'm in sdcard/clockworkmod/download/ but where from there? I clicked on all the folders and don't see it. When I downloaed jrummy I found it right away but bb I can't.

So it's 3:35 and I'm still showing 100% power...very strange. I don't want to reboot cause right now I'm clinging to the possibility that battery life is so dramatically improved that this is correct :D

The cake is a lie...

:P

So I just updated to BBv.4 and everything went well with that so I decided to install a different kernel and used Chevy's Medium Voltage 1.1 5 slot kernel. After doing this everything boots fine, but the red led is on, the battery indicator is red with a slash through it and it tells me to connect my charger. I do this and it doesn't recognize the charger in plugged in and a few moments later gives me the message "Sorry, process system is not responding".
I wiped data and cache 3x before the rom install, rebooted, put the kernel on the sd, installed and rebooted again. Should I just wipe everything again and just reinstall BBv.4 but not the kernel? Not sure if this matters, but when I went to install the new kernel SPR said installation aborted like 3 times then finally worked and completed fine...

So i reinstalled the kernel and the phone is staying on for now... I had to reactivate for service and it restarted, and is still showing the red led and battery icon, but is letting me use the phone. I guess the only problem is the phone not charging and battery indicator... ideas?

Flash a different kernel.

So I thought I bricked my phone because when I rebooted I only got the Moto sign I plugged it into my computer to perform an RSD lite recovery. Strangely, the RSD didn't finish but it did reboot my phone. I was able to restore back to an old backup of mine and now I'm restarting and wiping my phone from scratch. :X Scary.

Going back to CM 5.0.8 since Sapphire 0.6.2 was giving me a few issues. :(

One thing that appears fixed is that my folders stay populated. In 0.2 I loaded a folder on my homescreen with stuff and after a reboot it was empty except for one thing. Now I've rebooted twice and the folder still has everything in it. Thanks, Pete!

Well, I rebooted...and still show 100%. If this happens to be a true representation of my actual battery...I will never flash another ROM again! :p

If it is a true representation then you are coming over and flashing the ROM on my phone... YOU GOTS THE MAGIC TOUCH!!!!!!!

Hmmmm you saying that you will never flash another ROM again, is kinda like the Browns winning the Super Bowl, it might happen but not in our lifetime... :P

Never flashing another ROM? LOL. Be still my beating heart. I said that with Kangerade 1.1, and now I'm back to the Beast.

The next time that I stick to the same ROM will be when you're prying my current phone out of my cold, stiff fingers and putting me 6' under.

just sayin....

I have to admit, Pete has certainly outdid himself on this one - this is easily the best ROM I've ever used...

Regarding the battery, I've been off charger since 7am and STILL have 50% left after some significant usage..

Just need to install Adobe Flash Player and I'll be golden..

Friggin weird. I used ROM manager to do the whole process, but somewhere in the middle of it all, my TiBu license file was deleted off of my SDCard.

I have no idea how nor why, but it most certainly was. I had to re-extract it from the email from Joel....

Although it is entirely possible that it did not happen because of the installation of BB 0.4, it nonetheless happened right around the same time, b/c I had just used TiBu to make a new backup of apps and settings this morning....

Weird. I installed it as an update.zip in recovery and didn't lose my TiBU license. I can't imagine an installation erasing anything on the SD card, especially that.

Neither can I, and as many times as I have installed ROMs since rooting 6 months ago....

It's never happened. In fact, I would not have noticed if the Donate button had not started appearing in my TiBu again - drove me batty, until I looked closer and saw that it said it was not the registered version. I was all about to fire off an email to Joel asking what had happened, when I just simply took a deep breath, then looked for the license file, then searched my email for the one he sent to me with the file. Once I extracted it to the SDCard, all is well again.

Like I said,it may not be related to the update process at all - but the phone has not been connected to the computer since last night, and this morning I made a full backup of all apps before starting on the ROM manager derived Nandroid backup to upgrade to 0.4.

*shrugs* oh, well, I'll keep an eye on it and see if something else strange occurs.

These new Froyo ROM's seem very finicky I am staying with my Droidlife Stock Froyo until a rooted copy of the Droid OTA arrives.

look guys let me imitate pete.

look at all the things i've ripped out of other ROMs and then stitch together in a very buggy ROM, and call it bugless beast. also credit to pete, and donate.

this post is also credit to pete.

Maybe it's Blackdroid in disguise trying to get revenge against Pete.

look guys let me imitate fox.

look at all the things i said about pete that had no validity and then stitch them together in a reply that makes me look like a complete moron.

This is an amazing rom and Pete works hard. I/We respect all devs who put time in effort into creating awesome roms, and you should too. Truth of the matter is, user error is most likely your issue with Pete's rom.

And this was as equal funny!
But I have to agree, I think this rom was one of the best I have ever flashed, and hmmm trying to think of all the bugs I encountered with this rom. Hmmm oh yeah 0! Maybe others did but this one was truly a "bugless beast" to me.

i'm not saying it's a bad ROM, his coding is a little strange... however for most people it works. and i can't argue there.

it's just that he doesn't really create ROMs. He makes mashups.

You are attempting to make your opinions statements of fact. Replying to this thread the way you did is just asking for trouble. Unless you can provide evidence as to why you THINK his roms are buggy, or why you THINK his coding is strange (whatever that means), no one is going to take you seriously. So, good day sir.

From what I understood, Pete had his own source for this rom. Oh, and do u remember back with 2.1, Pete released the first ese with a leak he obtained, if I remember correctly. But I don't understand how u can basically call his roms a rip from someone else's roms, I want to see proof. Or u have no valid point. And besides, this is a discussion thread about this rom in particular, not Pete himself.. if you would like to start a thread about him and your beliefs, go right ahead, if not..
Lets please get back on topic.. thx
