I think TiBU will skip over the red anyway. I didn't know that when I first started using TiBU and had everything selected - red and green. The last time I did that, I don't recall seeing it restore anything that was a red item. I could be wrong, but I haven't had any problems... however, I am following the color codes now just to play it safe!

I am using Chevy 1 Medium voltage 1.1Ghz. I tried 1.2 and it would run for 30 seconds and reboot. Couldn't handle it. 1.1Ghz runs flawlessly. In SetCPU, I have it maxed out at 1.1 on the high and 900Mhz on the low with the On Demand setting. I can't believe how well this runs!
 
OK cooked like a goose LoL, my droid is spinning due to all the flashes in the last 2 weeks. So we have settled in now. BBV0.4, ChevyNo1 ULV 1.2, NexTheme 0.4, everything works great so we are going to leave it alone for a while :D. Thanks Pete and Fab for the hard work.
 
UPDATE: Just experienced my first boot loop! So it appears my phone doesn't like speeds above 1.2.. restoring via nandroid and will look to flash Chevy's ULV kernel...

Flashed this last night around 10pm or so EST. Was coming from NexBeast FRF57 V0.1.1 running Chevy's 1.25 Ghz ULV kernel. Wiped data and cache because (i) I prefer to have a clean slate before installing anything and (ii) I'm patient in restoring my home screens (only use 3 anyway).

Installation worked without a single issue. All my apps were restored from the Market, including paid apps. No speed/lag issues with the Market or other features. Wifi worked fine (connected to my home router with no problems [netgear]). Was getting a Quadrant score of 1036 on stock kernel and Linpack scores in the 12s. Flashed jdflg's 1.2 Ghz kernel from jdlfg kernels v.32.2.0 for Froyo 2.2 - CyanogenMod Forum (the v32.1.3 version) and set my clock speeds to 1.2/800 (on demand) and this thing is flying.. granted, it was pretty quick on the stock kernel, but my droid is screaming now. Will keep an eye on temps, but it seems to stay below 100 degrees F even under major load. May flash a Chevy ULV kernel to see if I can get even lower temps.

Not a single reboot or FC. Removed the default launcher and am using the most current version of Launcher Pro, which works flawlessly for me. Not running any themes either, which is funny because after not using the stock fonts, notification bars, etc. for so long (was running Nextheme almost exclusively), I kind of missed this look, haha!

Alright boys and girls, need some options. :)

Flashed this yesterday afternoon, put XTheme on it, and then flashed p3Droid 7x1000lv kernel and my phone was fully charged and has been unplugged for 13h and a majority of that time was last night, when I was sleeping and I made one phone call, 10 minutes long and 4 text messages and I'm already down to 15% battery?!?!?

That pretty much sucks. The phone is flying, no reboots, running cool, just horrible battery life. Anyone have any recommendations for kernels. My phone doesn't like going over 1k, so just keep that in mind. And, does anyone have the stock kernel? Would be nice to keep that in my repertoire.

That's one upgrade over 0.2 right there - Pete changed the reboot options from using the side buttons to buttons on the physical keyboard, so you wouldn't have to worry about rebooting that way anymore. I've noticed good stability but seemingly poorer battery life, but it's difficult to make a judgment while I'm at work, because my signal fluctuates so greatly (gotta love working in Camden, NJ, one of the worst areas in the US - apparently, VZW isn't all that concerned with "Ruling the Air" here). The real test will be this weekend at home, where I have consistent 5 bar 3G signal. With NexFro 1.1 and BB 0.2 (with xTheme), I was able to go 17 or 18 hours with moderate use and be between 60% and 70% battery remaining (compared to the 8-10 hours, maximum, here in Camden, and being down to 10%-15%).

I had the stock kernel installed on both .3 and .4, and my battery life suffered noticeably. I've reverted back to 1.1 to see if I get better juice, and so far I do. I'm going to try .4 again from scratch, and I'll format all my flash partitions multiple times (despite the fact that I think this is a waste of time to do that as one format ought to take care of it).

If I still get bad battery life after that, I think I'll replace the stock kernel with Chevy's ULV and see how that goes. I guess perhaps my phone isn't playing well with pete's stock kernel, which surprises me. But then again, they say that all phones aren't created equal...
 
You need to use a different kernel. The p3droid kernels are not exactly new, and are made to work with a different ROM than the ones based on the newer leaks/source.

I have had great luck with Chevy's Medium Voltage 1k kernel. My phone doesn't really place nice with ULV and LV.

When you install BB.04, open the Market and click the Downloads button and you will see Google download your apps. This won't get everything, so open TiBU and click Batch and then click Restore Missing Apps + Data. Then, in TiBU again, select Restore All Programs and Data. When it gets to LauncherPro (or whatever launcher you're using), it will reconstruct all your homescreens (you will have to redo your widgets though, there will be messages that they didn't load properly). When TiBu finishes, do a data restore with MyBackup Pro and then reboot your Droid. Everything will look the same as it did with the new rom as it did with the preceding rom!

What the hell?

Is anyone having issues with the battery percentages not updating? I have been off the charger since 7:00am...I've done some light texting and browsing this morning, ran a few Benchmarks and still showing 100% battery life in both the notification bar as well as my battery widget.

I'm running NexTheme with Chevy's 1.1 ULV Kernel (which I have used before). Quadrant scores are in the mid 1500's (1599 as my top score but not repeatable).

Also, I've noticed that during the Quadrant benchmark testing, the 3D graphics are a little slower but the 2D graphics are MUCH improved. Looks like they have tweaked some of the graphics settings in this latest leak...
 
OH BTW I'm not using a launcher app other than Pete's stock 5-screens. SO I'm running the batch back-up apps and system data now, THEN MyBackupPro, THEN rename "update.zip" and install.

I wish there was a manual for this stuff. But I appreciate your help!

That's exactly how I do it, too (without renaming because I use Clockwork). I tried updating from 0.3 to 0.4 without wiping and bombed out big time, so I wiped data, cache, system and boot and then installed the ROM, the kernel and my modded version of NexTheme and this thing is PERFECT.

I let the Market restore all of my Market apps and then used TiBu to restore my data for those apps, my non-Market apps and data and all the other system settings stuff in green (MMS/SMS, call log, wifi and bluetooth settings, etc.). I found that I didn't need my MyBackupPro backups for anything. Remember, though, that you won't see your MMS/SMS, etc. data until you reboot after restoring.

The Market is the fastest its been on any of the Froyo builds I've tried, wifi, bluetooth, GPS, Maps and Navigation and everything else I've tested (I have 104 non-system apps and I've tested them all) are all working perfectly.

Smooth, fast and snappy and everything just WORKS! It's really awesome!

When I booted up, I had a completely opaque black background, and then all my apps started FCing at once. I tried it first with kernel and theme, then with just the kernel, and then just the ROM without the kernel, all with the same result. I was hoping it would work without having to wipe, since I've been able to do that on all the Froyo builds and because switching is so fast and easy when it works (yes, the lazy way out!). So, last night I bit the bullet and did the full partitions format. It took me hours to get everything all set back up like I want it because of all the customization I do. Now that I'm done, though, I couldn't be happier with my Droid!

No there is a seperate option for "Restore All Apps + System data"... I'm talking about the option that says "Restore Missing Apps + Data" all it does is restore the apps (and there data) that are not reinstalled by the market...
 
Well I bit the bullet and wiped all the partitions just to be sure. Like Girluvsdroid, it'll take awhile putting together the pieces and tying up loose ends. But at least I have the biggest baddest bestest! :D
 
So I just updated to BBv.4 and everything went well with that so I decided to install a different kernel and used Chevy's Medium Voltage 1.1 5 slot kernel. After doing this everything boots fine, but the red led is on, the battery indicator is red with a slash through it and it tells me to connect my charger. I do this and it doesn't recognize the charger in plugged in and a few moments later gives me the message "Sorry, process system is not responding".
I wiped data and cache 3x before the rom install, rebooted, put the kernel on the sd, installed and rebooted again. Should I just wipe everything again and just reinstall BBv.4 but not the kernel? Not sure if this matters, but when I went to install the new kernel SPR said installation aborted like 3 times then finally worked and completed fine...
 
So it's 3:35 and I'm still showing 100% power...very strange. I don't want to reboot cause right now I'm clinging to the possibility that battery life is so dramatically improved that this is correct :D
