[ROM][BETA] CyanogenMod 10 for the LG Lucid

I'd love to see JellyBean 4.2 (Maybe 4.3 one day) for the Lucid!
Also my battery only gets hot when I'm using JUST data. If I have my WiFi connected and data on it doesn't heat up. Strange.

^ Because if both are on, it only uses the wifi, and wifi use much less battery.

EDIT:

any idea on GPS? can't get it with GPS test or gps status. tried in two different spots so its not the satellites either.

(sorry for repost, but I hate having last post on a page)

Oh, still though my battery shouldn't get that hot so quickly, oh well. I haven't gotten it working either, but facebook seems to get my location, but it might be from stock when I let it check my location. I'll test it.

Edit: It seems it cannot get my location at all anymore, it was just about the only app that could until now.

it gets location via Verizon's towers as well as through WiFi. so for maps I can get an initial location most times just GPS never comes in so it doesn't last.

The 4G wont matter, the program is only interested in the GPS satellites. You really should be outside when downloading the xtra data, its far more accurate that way. If you go outside and it still doesnt work, then the GPS on your phone is either malfunctioning or the GPS driver is not packaged with this ROM.
did not fix was not malfunctioning bc I works now that its back to stock gb but im about to reup to cm10

Backing up my phone so that I can restore it tonight to hopefully solve a glitch or two, any tips on how to get GPS going which need done before I reload CM10?

GPS I have a thing or two to try.

As for my glitch I was having with volume, even with wiping data it was still there. So I tested and discovered that it has to do with the restoring from backup. I reset without associating it with my account and it worked fine.

Resetting again..

I keep trying to restore to V5 and all its doing is loading the lg logo, then the boot animation and sound, then it reboots and repeats... ideas?

edit- the little junker needed /data wiped. (this) problem solved.

I now have:

- a very tired man
- a soon to be slightly annoyed girlfriend that I was up so a late
- a reset (wiped) phone which will require a lot of work to get everything back

and best of all

- fully functional volume
- (apparently) functioning GPS!

GPS status picked up a few GPS's, will try with google nav tomorrow.

My intructions for GPS were from greg1001:

I had to go back to gingerbread, installed gps test, let it run for 3-4 mins. in open sky or until you get good signal from multiple sats. Then installed CM10, I did'nt do this on the first install and no gps, installed on 2 phones after gps test & open sky used and gps works fine on both. Quick lock & within 12'.

As far as the volume- just some glitch in my old settings I guess. Didn't restore and it functions fine!

Yay stcarslo, thanks!

Sorry for the double post but since this thread only has a few active members and I wanted others advice I made a thread as well (I'm also not sure if this is a cm10 problem):

I'm on Verizon as well as CM10.

Texts that are longer then 160 characters always used to send to other verizon members.

I realized that recently they haven't been sending. I really don't want to break them up as I never have. I will go back to stock if I have to, but I don't want to.

Ideas on why they won't send anymore?

CM 10.1 (version 4.2.1 of Android) breaks Bluetooth, and I'll have to redo my display drivers job. When they fix that I'll take a look.

I don't experience this issue. A few weeks ago I sent a text that was accidentally too long and it appeared to break up just fine. Could you back up texts, clear data and cache for mms.apk, and restore them?

See, I don't want to break them up though. Today I received a text that was probably at least 200 characters as one text (always has worked for verizon to verizon like that for me) but now if I try to send a text just like that, it just doesn't send.

I can try clearing that, but how exactly do I do that? Also it isn't really an mms, is that the right one?

EDIT: I reset settings in Go SMS as well as cleared data for it and stock messaging app and still doesn't work.

Handcent SMS also doesn't help.

Hey stcsarlso, if you wouldn't mind making a CM10.1/4.2.1 ROM now without Bluetooth, that would be sweet. Bluetooth seems like a rarity for some. Anyways, thanks for all you do.

stcarlso,

looking at your github, how exactly do we tell what you changed from stock CM10?

EDIT: Aka I'd be interested in knowing what changes to make if I were to try to do this myself. But that appears to be quite a few, so perhaps not worth bothering right now.

Did you flash the baseband?

Well, the github is really behind due to work catching up with me. I could push it now, but all you'd get is the kernel changes (which is the display and frequency mods required to boot with a screen). If you wanted to diff the kernel, checking the commit logs and looking for the first commit not from "stcarlso" should do the trick.

Several of the changes like 4g toggle and internal storage were fixed in the CyanogenMod repositories, but since I can't push to those the changes won't show up on anything you build. I will need to clone them and change their targets to my GitHub, then update the overall project to point to them. That would take a good solid day that I haven't had yet.

Shoot my phone just jumped into a bootloop, I cleared both caches and cant get out. ideas?

occaisionally it will stay on for like 15 seconds but...

You might be able to reflash the ROM dirty and get things to work. There's an issue (that is also causing the occasional hangs at the boot screen) when system is remounted rw for a few seconds for whatever reason; it can somehow get corrupted and cause bootloops or lockups.
