Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

I am sad to see both Ticker and Isaac moving on, but sure do understand and still appreciate their monumental efforts - thanks you guys, and good luck with your future projects :)

I am in a bit of a quandry. Over my school break, I intend to get into theming, definitely for MIUI and possibly for CM7 as well. There have already been updates to MIUI, the lockscreen manifest in particular, that it would seem we won't ever get. So I'm stuck - is it at all possible that we will get support (official or otherwise) with MIUI or CM7? Is someone picking up where isaac and ticker left off? If not, I've got to start thinking about moving to another device/service. :(

I can fFirce a re-boot 100% of the time within thirty minutes. I'm sure it's a data problem, I can duo it with three different apps, but only one will do it in thirty minutes or less. don't have a computer cable so can't test it, but clean install of apps and cm7, if anyone wants to test and see if they can find it out more, let me know. I've has the problem since the first alpha

Finally, got a new data cable :-)

Logcat your results, since you can reproduce it.

was able to logcat my phone rebooting three time in less than a half hour each, anyone know how to read it, and maybe figure out where the reboots are coming from.

oh yeah, thanks for all your work, TG and Isaac, you will be missed here

How are most of you getting better battery performance? I'm seeing the same or maybe just a tiny bit longer out of a full charge. I suspect it's got something to do with "no" service" i've been experiencing since CM7 install. Anywhere in my house I used to get 1-2 bars under stock , but now it's down to none.

IF you're a coder there really isn't that much more to do.

The only real "gotcha" is the Wifi/Bluetooth interrupt storm issue. HDMI may simply never happen but realistically -- what else is there?

Yeah, ok, Wifi tethering. Isaac says he has it working and I'm playing with it a bit. I may get it working before I give up. My line is dead but if I get a build that appears to work I'll upload it and github has the sources, so it's not THAT hard to pull it down and build it.

Seriously.... what more is there in this chain of development?

oh tickerguy... i noticed that when im listening to music on my triumph (while running cm7 no oc and on ondemand gov) the screen off animation slows down quite noticeably. it happens more when you switch to a different app, go back to the home screen, and then screen off.

I mean native ("Wifi Hotspot") with the kernel taking care of it properly. Infrastructure mode and all. Try it and let me know if it works; I get connected on my laptop but can't go anywhere as my service is off since I ported.

The Portable Wifi hotspot is working great in your build. However, the settings panel is a little odd--which I'm sure you've noticed.

On the Tethering and portable hotspot settings menu, you have options for "USB tethering", Portable Wi-Fi hotspot, and Portable Wi-fi hotspot settings.

You hit the "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings" menu option which takes you to another panel with the options "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot" (again) and Configure Wi-Fi hotspot.

This time if you click the Configure Wi-Fi hotspot option, you're finally taken to the options dialog where you can actually configure the settings.

Installed the latest final build. Wifi hotspot is not working for me. I mean my laptop connects to the apn androidap. But Windows 7 tells me it does not have access to the internet. (No internet access and sometimes limited access) and none of the websites (not even google.com) open. ping, tracert don't work.

Just tried the final build and the wifi tethering is working great. Not trying to go against what your saying mantera but the menu seems fine to me. Ticker I appreciate all the work you put in to this phone and I just want to give you one more THANK YOU for this final build.

@mantera that is how gingerbread is designed. tickerguy has nothing to do with it. I guess that ks why we need ICS to fix such usability quirks ;-)

btw @mantera and @haro138 have you at any point in time changed your computer's MTU? Mine simply remains in limited access mode :-(

I have not changed the MTU on my computer ever.

But with Barnacle it opens Google sites pretty well.

tgpraven I actually had messed with my MTU and changed it from 1500 to 1472 BUT I always changed it back to where it originally was and where it now is at 1500.

Too bad to see them go....
I was hoping to give my second triumph with cm7 to a friend as a b-day present. Looks my only hope now is to beg moto and vm to release a software update.

Computers (and other things) set to 1500 MTUs should be fine. The kernel does munging properly (providing you're using my kernel; no promises if you've loaded something else.)
