Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

are you still connected to anything else, whether there's an internet connection or not?

it's as simple as that. plug in, enable usb tethering. windows will install rndis and you'll be up automatically. just need to specify your firewall zone.

I don't have my PC connected to any network when I attempt. While the phone is plugged into PC via USB, toggling the Tether option only enables/disables the USB icon in my system tray with the options to "Eject Media". I have USB Storage disabled on the Triumph. It just doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. The Triumph will say tethering has been activated in the notification menu then my PC makes that "USB connect/disconnect sound" and the tray icon for the USB device just disappears. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Maybe I have to manually install the RNDIS driver?
It sounds easy enough, and it's starting to make me feel dumb lol

I have a question and I think there's an easy answer, but I'm just ignorant on the subject.

I'm trying to utilize USB tether on my laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate.
I plug in the USB cord and it asks to turn on/off USB storage. I understand that. I don't turn storage on.
I enable USB tethering in the network settings but nothing seems to initiate. I understand that Windows 7 has RNDIS support out of the box? Do I need to enable it within Windows 7 somewhere? or download the driver?

In other words, what steps need to be taken to successfully tether the Triumph to Windows 7, or can you direct me to a forum that explains it in detail?

Thanks in advance.
Go into the phone and set "USB Debugging" (under Application development)

For an unknown reason Windows 7 refuses to recognize the RNDIS Driver unless this is turned on. Once it is and tethering is enabled in the phone it should automatically connect.

Dumb question but would keeping the option for sending stats to CM turned on help in getting the Triumph on the officially supported phone list? Just so they would see how many Triumphs are running unofficial builds.

Thank you SO much TG! That did it!
I knew it was something simple :)

For me, that option popped up in the notification bar after the install of the ROM.

By fresh flash, you mean you did factory reset and format /system? I would like to know coz I have random reboots also on B.06 and B.07. But I didn't do a factory reset and format /system when upgrading to B.07 (coz too lazy to re-configure the phone.) So, I am debating whether I would try doing a clean flash and see if I still get the reboots...

I just went ahead with a fresh install (factory reset and format /system) of B.07 yesterday. Since then I've had one sleep of death, but no random reboots so far... let's see...

The Beta 7 great but I can't get the location services to work correctly. While connected to WIFI, Maps cant find my location also weather app can't find my location. They both worked great under stock. How can I fix this?

Someone please help with this problem. I've had this issue with previous builds as well. Thanks

I have found that I get a better lock if I am in a moving vehicle because maps will find your location but associate the movements to the shapes of the roads. So even if the initial GPS lock is off it will be associated to the best identifying road to your movements. I suppose that would only work with winding roads though, because it would be harder to distinguish when roads are parallel (e.g. in the city).

Is there any way to pull the messaging APK from MIUI and have it work on CM7? That is the only real thing that I miss from MIUI.

Thanks for responding. Let me make my question more clear. Outside with GPS lock, it's working just fine. The problem is indoors or wherever I don't have a GPS signal and only have WIFI to locate me. I guess through triangulation(?).

For example, if you were indoors with WIFI and open Maps, it should find your location even without GPS lock. This isn't working on CM7 for me.

Do you have the "Use wireless networks" box checked in the location settings? (I'm not trying to insinuate that you're stupid, I'm just starting with the simplest solution :p)

Oh thanks!
Stupid or not, I do feel stupid now. :D
Didn't realize it was off by default.
Works now. thanks
Now I can finally enjoy my phone.

Anyone having an issue with the flash not working correctly? It was working after I flashed the newest ROM last week, but the last few days it has been flashing before the picture is taken so I have to use CameraZoomFX and just keep the LED on constantly, which blinds my subjects, to say the least. Any ideas?

Also wanted to thank Tickerguy for all the work he did while still on Virgin. I'm sure those that haven't spoken up yet feel the same way.

I got the battery icon i wanted thanks all who helped but had one more issue. Now when im charging my phone when it gets to 90% the led turns from red to green but its still not fully charged is there a way to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated still loving CM7!

It is supposed to do this. At 90% it begins to trickle charge. It does this so the battery does not overcharge.

There is still a problem with volume in CM7. The original rom had a trick to get the volume up. You'd have to make a call to voicemail with the music playing, end the voicemail call and then start the music over and the volume would increase by about 20dB. In CM7 it's not even listenable especially since I am 50% loss of hearing.

I am using CM7 now though, and I appreciate everyone's hard work to get the triumph working!

My battery life is really bad on CM7 alone, but juice defender really fixed that and now I have about 2 days of battery life with normal use.

How do you reset the battery stats?

It can be done either in CWM or by installing a free app named batterycalibration. I have been letting the phone charge all night and running the Batterycallibration app in the morning. After that the app recommends letting the phone drain all the way before charging again and then charging it uninterrupted. I’m sure someone can give you a more technical response using CMW but I have had wonderful battery life using the batterycalibration app which can be uninstalled after using it.

My volume has been fine in CM7. Did you factory reset before you first installed CM7?

You can use dsp manager to adjust the volume (and other things) in cm7. You still will get the issue of lower audio after a notification though. I just pause the audio for about five seconds and it gets louder again.
