Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

I think this question might have been answered, but ill just go for it.

Does anyone know if the latest Clockwork v5 support ext4?

I would be interested in that.

you bet :) flash this file in recovery. You will almost certainly bootloop - I did on my first attempt at just transparency, as well as this mod, transparency and centered clock - but after a battery pull and repower, everything is just as it should be :)
I nandroid before I flash any mods, but I'm super careful :) oh and I wiped the cache first, which may not be necessary

I had transparency working, but it wasn't quite right when I would pull down the notification bar.

That would be theme dependent btw - I like to put the notification bar png for pull down status as plain black, do trans or semi-trans on the one visible in the home. Themes will sometimes have that setup up right, or will have the transparent one as the pull down notification bar, too. I am fresh back on CM7 to help a dude out, so I can look into that on a particular theme you want to use :)

I had enabled it in the framework, and had like 4 themes with it, and they all did that.

It's probably just me being a noob.

No, no, I'm pretty new to this too lol
hmmm...what method did you use on your trans mod? I had previously used uot kitchen. Truly, I wasn't on CM7 very long the first time, but I did swap images on a couple of themes to make the backgrounds differ.
But as I was editing code for the clock as well, I hard coded the transparency changeup for this one using apktool. I will look back at my files to see how I changed the pull down bg before...I am on a nearly transparent theme now, and its showing trans for both home and pull down, may need to change the hack...

I used out kitchen, and I did the hack I found on XDA forums. Both had the same issue.

which xda hack? If it was Taine0's his has been out of date for months due to changes in gb since then. The apktool mods will work. Zdune's patcher will not mod our rom since it's CM7 based and not native. I'd be interested in seeing the link to the one you tried over there :)

The Beta 7 great but I can't get the location services to work correctly. While connected to WIFI, Maps cant find my location also weather app can't find my location. They both worked great under stock. How can I fix this?

I have a question and I think there's an easy answer, but I'm just ignorant on the subject.

I'm trying to utilize USB tether on my laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate.
I plug in the USB cord and it asks to turn on/off USB storage. I understand that. I don't turn storage on.
I enable USB tethering in the network settings but nothing seems to initiate. I understand that Windows 7 has RNDIS support out of the box? Do I need to enable it within Windows 7 somewhere? or download the driver?

In other words, what steps need to be taken to successfully tether the Triumph to Windows 7, or can you direct me to a forum that explains it in detail?

Thanks in advance.

are you still connected to anything else, whether there's an internet connection or not?

it's as simple as that. plug in, enable usb tethering. windows will install rndis and you'll be up automatically. just need to specify your firewall zone.

I haven't had a BOOT on my phone in, well... you look.

If it's crashing on you it is not the firmware.

Question how can i get the battery icon like you have there? I just finally dove into CM7 and thanks so much for your work Tickerguy its awesome and works fantastic. If anyone could tell me let me know Thanks again!

Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > Interface > Status Bar Tweaks

Change Battery status style to Percentage.

edit:

Most settings and tweaks that are not on the stock ROM are in the CyanogenMod Settings, you should poke around in there a bit.

Enjoy!

Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > Interface > Notification Bar Tweaks. Set battery status style to percentage. Now switch it back to icon. Then back to percentage.

3. I saw Minus's Vids (thx by the way) but how do I get the gapps and cm7 onto the phone so I can flash them from CWM? (Maybe include this in vids Minus) I'm just a bit scared messing with my pricey new toy.

4. We need to flash gapps b/c it gives us the market and can't install anything w/o it right? why do we have to flash gtalk? Can't we get it from the market after booting into CM7?

5. Titanium backup: this will let me restore my settings and apps after I move from Stock to CM7? Or do I have to re-download all my apps? Or is there something else?

6. @ Ticker (and other smart ones), are you using anything for protection or to optimize performance...(on the phone I mean:o) like juicedefender anti virus or anything or is CM7 good to go as is?

HUGE thx @ Ticker, Isaac, Minus n I know I'm missing some but thx everyone. Can't wait! I'm heading to dinner, charging my phone and when I'm back hopefully w/ ya'lls help I can wrap this cm7 install up tonight! Thanks for the hand holding.

3: You can either connect your phone (when it is turned on) to your computer using the USB data cable, OR, remove the battery cover, remove the MicroSD card and put the microSD card in your computer. After that, just copy the files like you would to any drive on your computer.

5: That is correct, Titanium Backup is awesome.

Okay guys, here is the latest video guide for installing TickerGuy's CyanogenMod 7 (CM7) release, version Beta 7. Sorry this took so long, but I had to finish my workshop (which you can see on my Youtube channel).

Install TickerGuy's CyanogenMod 7 (CM7) Beta Version 7 on the Motorola Triumph - YouTube

Anyway, thanks to TickerGuy, we'll miss you man.

Also, be keeping an eye on my channel, as I'll be posting overclocking kernel guides as well.
