It's already been done. I did it awhile back: https://github.com/ikarosdev/CM7_Triumph_bug_tracker/issues/26
More specifically: https://github.com/ikarosdev/androi...mmit/72c9147ffee6419f90a2f0b3a586b984637d877d
Is this already in MIUI, or is CM7 just testing this?
I was just going to switch to MIUI today to check it out.
I mean native ("Wifi Hotspot") with the kernel taking care of it properly. Infrastructure mode and all. Try it and let me know if it works; I get connected on my laptop but can't go anywhere as my service is off since I ported.
Just out of curiosity (if you don't mind sharing) What is making you two devs leave?
This is a sad final update in my honest opinion. I needed HDMI working for something coming up, now I'll have to go back to stock.
Plus, Wifi tethering has been working fine for me in 0.7 so I don't see this as an update at all.
Hey Isaac how do I go about pushing this to the device? I'm really confused lol
@mantera that is how gingerbread is designed. tickerguy has nothing to do with it. I guess that ks why we need ICS to fix such usability quirks ;-)
btw @mantera and @haro138 have you at any point in time changed your computer's MTU? Mine simply remains in limited access mode :-(
I have not changed the MTU on my computer ever.
But with Barnacle it opens Google sites pretty well.
@tickerguy thanks so I'm assuming there are no final usability tweaks to the mod other than wifi tethering? (I imagine VM will be busting heads about this in the near future anyhow)
@Isaac (or anyone) is there a plan on porting ICS (really happy with the mod as is but new is always good, no?)
I cant code my way out of a wet paper-bag of bits so I appreciate all the hard brain work everyone's doing on our behalf!
It is in Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > Interface > Notification Power Widget > Widget Buttons ---- Toggle Wifi APVery nice final! I love having a native hotspot instead of using an app. Having infrastructure mode is so much better as well. Is it possible to have a tethering toggle in the notification power widget buttons? It would be cool to just scroll the notification bar down and click on a button to start a hotspot/usb tether.
Pretty sure he said he was going to mess with it when CM9 is out and he can work from that.@Isaac (or anyone) is there a plan on porting ICS (really happy with the mod as is but new is always good, no?)
Oh wow I am a frittata. I didn't even think to check that. I wasn't sure what "AP" meant.lol. Thank you!It is in Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > Interface > Notification Power Widget > Widget Buttons ---- Toggle Wifi AP

It is a really solid ROM, why would you need to move on? I have so many fewer issues with this than I did with the stock OS.now that the final beta is out is anyone going to pick this up and keep developing it or do we need to move onto another rom?
I hated stock on the Triumph...I dont understand the current ongoing theme I see in mobile phone communities..where people flash a new rom and all of a sudden..the stock rom was just hideous and unbearable to them!! I think this is the placebo effect really..I had ZERO issues with the stock rom so its amusing to me ...now when I had the intercept..that was a crap stock rom lol..but this phone is so fast i just dont get it when ppl claim the stock rom is junk!
Well, I never said it was crap, I stated that I have less issues with CM7 than I did with stock. For instance my GPS works better, it wasn't as bad as some people have mentioned it was on stock, but it is much better with CM7. You can also do a wifi hotspot without downloading a 3rd party app with CM7 now, which is really nice. I also appreciate the notification bar power widgets a lot. I understand you can do many of the exact same things with stock, but I like the way CM7 does it better. I like the theme chooser application that CM7 has. I can go through and edit the .apk's for a lot of stuff to get similar results, but CM7 just makes it easier. I flash back to stock to use HDMI out every once in a while, and it is good. I just don't feel it is AS good for my personal tastes.I dont understand the current ongoing theme I see in mobile phone communities..where people flash a new rom and all of a sudden..the stock rom was just hideous and unbearable to them!! Also this, and the pulldown menu is much prettier in stock CM7 than stock froyo.2. I hate the stock not bar - beyond ugly. Complete theming without the use of MIUI or theme chooser for CM7 is hard work that doesn't allow for quick changeups. I like a pretty phone...sue me

I was thinking of giving MIUI a try, any sage advice (other than do a nandroid)before I do?I hated stock on the Triumph...
1. I hated froyo
2. I hate the stock not bar - beyond ugly. Complete theming without the use of MIUI or theme chooser for CM7 is hard work that doesn't allow for quick changeups. I like a pretty phone...sue me
3. The GPS on my phone is not operational without the hard work isaac and/or ticker put into the fixes found on Cm7 and MIUI
4. My phone is faster on these alt ROMs
5. People like what they like. They also get excited when devs bend over backward to put a hell of a lot of work into these 'new' ROMS - which have features not found in stock, obviously
