Root [ROM] Bugless Beast V1.1

I forget: Why do we not need SetCPU with this one?

It's working fine for me so far. Will play more. BB was my first ROM so it'll always have a special place in my rooted heart.

You don't need SetCPU (and many folks find that not using SetCPU results in cooler temps and longer battery life) because the pete script sets up the ondemand CPU scaling for the kernel you're using. You CAN use SetCPU if you wish, however (if, for instance, you wan't to clock down when charging or the like). There's no longer any need to modify the pete file to do so.

Thank you Pete!

I've been impatiently checking this forum day and night for this update. I had BB 1.0, but I had looked at some different kernels and my phone just wasn't very happy. Instead of re-installing 1.0, I thought I would wait for 1.1. So far me and my phone are very happy. Battery life looks extremely promising and everything feels very very snappy.

My phone by far runs better with the Beast than anything else.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, if you have a 1ghz kernel and don't run set cpu, the scripts pete ran will automatically OC you to 1GHZ when necessary?

Anyone else having location issues?

The Weather App won't find anything, Maps wasn't responding to "My Location", and the browser says that my location is unavailable

Edit Nevermind...

Settings>Locations and Security>Use Wireless Networks was disabled...

Was anyone able to get TalkBack app and Media Uploader App? I couldnt seem to find them.. when I had flashed this last night. Im going to give it another go but yeah.. anyone?

Is anyone running into this? I've flashed BB 1.1, reinstalled my apps via Titanium Backup, then did a nandroid backup of the setup. THEN, I installed ADW Launcher rc3 via ROM Manager, and now I get a constant bootloop after it loads up. I get to the lockscreen for a few seconds, then I'm back at the Droid Eye and into the loop.
Any thoughts or suggestions from the community would be appreciated.

UPDATE: So, I restored the bb1.1 nandroid I made BEFORE I installed ADWLauncher, but I'm still running into the bootloop. WTF. Looks like a clean reinstall is what I have left. I am displeased.

ADW launcher has recently been bootlooping on me whenever I reboot on BBv1.0, so I think it's more of an instability issue with ADW than with BBv1.1

Once Froyo drops for the Droid I'll be ditching it for the stock home :)

LauncherPro has customizable Icons now. You guys having ADW issues maybe should try that.

Yeah, looks like I'll be giving that one a shot again. I sure did like the way ADW was put together, tho. So shiny...
But LP is faaaaast. I can't complain too much.

Man just like BB v1.0, v1.1 is running ridiculously hot on my phone.

What kernel are you using? Try Bekits 1.2, but don't clock passed 1000 in your profiles. I like to keep mine clocked around 800 or so when my battery is at 70 or less. My phone was running hot too, until I made this adjustment. Now I'm rarely above 30 degrees Celsius unless I'm doing some heavy usage.

Is there really no option for number of screens? Downloading another launcher seems ... contrary. :confused:I'll then have 2 launchers unused also.

Try LauncherPro Beta. I really like it. You can have anywhere from 3 to 7 home screens. It's fast and looks real nice too.

Thanks. I'll gives it a look see. Just can't wrap me brain around the 9 screens or none aspect of the home browser. WTF?

I dont think the Bugless Beast v1.1 in ROM Manager is..complete? Cause I am missing A LOT of things that are listen in the changelog and the features up above.. im going to load it from ClockWork Recovery. .. be back in bit

I just installed from ROM Manager too. All I noticed:

- Missing battery percentage
- A few of the static wallpapers don't work

battery percentage is probably an option in spare parts.

It's not, it's implemented by hard coding the numbers into the battery status images (thus only 100, 80, 60, 40, 20, 10 have numbers)

If it's missing, it is because the version on ROM manager is incomplete.

I installed it through ROM Manager and percentages worked fine. Bummed to find out it's only the 20 increments.

It's running a bit hot with 1.2 Bekit. I think I may go back to trusty ol' SS3.2.
