Root [ROM][CM11][4.4.4][FOR][Exhibit][T599x]

Thanks dadcup for posting about BLN Control, that takes care of that annoying "feature." ;)

Now, on to the final dragon to slay (well, for me anyway); getting wifi calling working...

Currently I am having issue with REG90 "Unable to Connect" error, however googling tells me I need to set something up with T-Mobile to give them the location data for 911, or turn it on or something so WiFi calling will work.

Alright, previously I was able to overcome this by contacting Metro/T-Mobile and giving them my address for E911. I can confirm it was working on the stock ROM after doing that.

Don't know if this work but you can check if you go in dial and press the three dots in right size a menu will show setting then go in to setting and go in to the bottom of that page and you will find that

IIRC, on stock I did have to select the option "For all calls when data network is available." I tried that here on CM now, but no joy.

So, now I am back to my previous theory:

...as I was going through my list of apps with
Titanium Backup and freezing bloatware, I did come across an app called "Wi-Fi Calling 4.1.2-T599NUVAMD4", maybe you could freeze that from stock and copy it over to CM and get it working?

Only problem is, I seem to have deleted the backup I made. lol Actually, I had backed it up to the "SD card" only to realize later that the phone didn't have an actual SD card, that was the internal memory (which was of course wiped upon CM installation). Doh!

So, does anyone have (or can get) a backed up APK for that file from their stock ROM? Preferably in Titanium Backup format (or if you have another format, I guess I could try that?

Fun fact. The internal sdcard doesn't get wiped.

But you are saying you never had to go through any of the setting changes I outlined in the solution I eventually figured out in this post (basically, adding "dun" to "APN type")?

That is correct. It worked without changing APN settings. That being said, I did recently add an APN entry for Ultra Mobile per Ultra Mobile's recommendations. But tethering worked prior to doing that. Just to be sure, I just switched my APN back to the default "T-Mobile US LTE" and performed a reboot of the phone. Tethering continues to work for me.

Additionally, I have never installed any play store tethering apps on my phone.

But, it sounds like you have it working, so that is good news. :)

Hmm, that's weird that's what I am on, too. I suppose I could have messed something up by installing / using Android Wifi Tether. But you are saying you never had to go through any of the setting changes I outlined in the solution I eventually figured out in this post (basically, adding "dun" to "APN type")?

I did a little more experimenting, after reading your other thread. What caught my eye was the statement to change APN protocol from IPv6 to IPv4. That got me thinking, so I switched my APN to "T-Mobile US LTE IPv6" and was not too surprised to see tethering fail.

If you previously had your APN set to the IPv6 version ("T-Mobile US LTE IPv6"), try using the IPv4 version ("T-Mobile US LTE") APN. This is the one that gets set by default for me and tethering works fine with this setting immediately after installation.

I have looked all over the place on my phone's internal sdcard as well as on the sdcard I used to move the files over, but I'll be damned if I can find those backups I made anywhere...

/scratches head

Anyone have a copy? I'd hate to have to revert to stock, I just got everything set up and working properly on the new phone. Which took a good part of the day yesterday... :/

Well I just recently made a backup to install vanir rom so I'll try to extract the apk for wifi calling and see if I can just install it like a regular apk or push it to system/app and if so I'll upload it.

Edit : I have a feeling it's not as simple as making a backup and restoring it to get wifi calling working.

Hey guys i came to report back after some testing on CM 11 M6 4.4.2

2 Bugs i found:
1)Wifi: if you turn off your phone with the wifi on then the next time you r turn it on it, the wifi wont turn on and stay off. The fixed is to reboot as many times as needed until it works and once it works turn off the wifi immediately becuase it tends to reboot
2)Auto Brightness on top Bar: it you want auto bright throught top bar it wont work at all

Also i did have a couple of slowdowns but its not big issue since it fix itself

OK so I downloaded and flashed this ROM a coupledays ago and it was very happy to see it it was stable & I was hoping that I could shed some light on the wifi issue. I was having trouble my phone would get turned off and when I turned it back on it would only have one of the receivers, either the data or the wifi on. The phone would proceed to randomly reboot up to three times showing the cyanogen loading screen. when the phone finally decided to remain on the wifi was greyed out presumably physically disabled by the OS.

I was searching online and found in the Google Play App Store a free app called FXR WiFi Fix and Rescue created by Brilliapps. I downloaded it even though it was not specifically made for our phones. Because after reading here and reloading the ROM. that seemed to be tedious and required more effort then should be necessary.

Long story short my phone died and when I turned it back on and went to the same cycle turn on turn off turn on turn off so I ran the wifi fixer app. Lo and behold it worked even tho it didn't completely finish running before I switched to working on something else.

Hope this helps. BTW Netflix still doesn't work for me and I'm having trouble loading themes with trebuchet. Thanks for all your hard work!

Excuse me, I hope this thing is on. about the App I was having serious issues with carbon build 4.4.3. I had no data (phone) after a little (xda) searching I just clicked the METROPCS LTD AOL saved it default settings. Then went to t-mobile LTD and deleted the whole ANN. just t-mobile LTD. I have had no issues sense. Even did this same with the CM11 4.4.4. no problems with 4G data. maybe I got lucky. just putting it out there. Suppose you are Metro but using T-Mobile 4G Antena. it sees you as t-mobile. but your accounted with metro. I'm new to all this and I'm crash coursing to catch up, but it worked for me.

Dude, what do you need. I have a Phillz Nandroid rom backup. Made of a solid Codinalte 4.4.4 CM11.ROM IS WORKING perfect for me. at least no issues that I've caught. Be glad to assist, Holme.

Check it out. big as@ issue with Carbon 4.4.3 meticulous Dev. Codinalte. regarding this. I solved by going into Network APN settings. clicked into METROPCS LTE
in the APN editor I saved the default settings for METROPCS. Then I exited. entered T-MOBILE LTE and just deleted the whole cha-cha. now the phone has no choice but to comply with my choice. the LTE connection remains but the T-Mobile account is gone. Being your with MetroPCS, your just piggybacking on their antenna. MetroPCS account T-Mobile antenna. this worked. if it doesn't all you have to do I restore default settings from inside the APN lounge. Hope this assists someone. I have tried many ROM on this phone. none are built like this CM11 4.4.4. NOT Omni-Carbon-Beanstalk-Pac-Man-AOKP...All installed, all deleted.

All day right here. no issues that I've noticed. Data 4G solid, however I believe I solved that dealing with Carbon 4.4.3 Codinalte. Anyway I send my respects, it's running firm and solid. Not sure if I'm side busting your conversation, my apologies if I am. (interrupting) just wanted to send mine. Thank you.

OP is update new rom new recovery :)

Anyone have success with the new recovery posted yesterday? Odin is complaining that the MD5 hash is invalid.

<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> MD5 hash value is invalid
<OSM> recovery2.tar.md5 is invalid.
<OSM> End...

The md5 checksum of my download is:

Well i noticed that when i reboot or turn on/off my phone the mobile data stops working . I really don't what the problem is there, but i hope you know how to fix the problem. Because It gets really annoying .
I always turn off my wifi before i do reboots or turn/off my phone because it causes bootloops, ive noticed that in every rom for this phone. So i learned my lesson there. But now this mobile data problem is new to me . i am running on the newest build. I hope you can help . thanks ! I believe Vanir, Aokp, carbon doesn't have this problem. & I've known people with this same issue as well.

I think it can be the numbers 2 try to rename the recovery2 to recovery

On my third reset my wifi and gps are working ok! I think the battery life is just the phone screen requiring a lot of juice. 1408198927167.jpg

Question, in order to update to the new CM11 4.4.4 r2 update, will I need to flash the update or is there another way that will allow me to save my current settings and progress and still get the update?

You could just backup your data and then restore it after you flash the rom.

Thank you for the ROM... i flashed with no problems very stable and responsive... the original stock rom really blew on this phone... much thanks again
