Root (ROM) CM7.2 Admire port Boraichee

Yes I saw something like that too.Galaxy ace runs Cm7.2 and its very similar to the admire. Is there a way to port CM7.2 from the ace to the admire.

well im currently making some changes in the build prop for miui to at assure it will boot

The wifi modules have to be compiled seperately from the kernel in order to fix wifi. CM7 always breaks it for some reason.

This all all sounds great. Like I said before Hroark is a good guy to get help from he was the main dev to get it to the prevail and it works rather nicely, yes it has a few features that aren't working but very close. I think he may have his hands in CyanogenMod 9 as well for the prevail and these have very similar hardware. I would also recommend Bloodawn's ctmod with his permission alot of good work and I think both of these are ext4 roms which I'd most excellent for these little smart phones. I am very happy with mine. I have been interested in this phone Dec because my best friend has one and I want her to get the best out of her phone as well. Thanks for all your hard work devs and testers! :D

We've got Samsung's kernel and Gingerbread stock sources. Shouldn't be too hard to integrate Sammy's code into the CM tree.

We've got multiple people on this now, so it's just a matter of time.

Patience.

Actually what i am doing as we speak!!

Guy. Settle down. These things take time. Webst3r I know for a fact has school and stuff and I'm sure Bo is busy too.

Lmao. Im sure once it is done, and 100% Complete we will all know. Good things are worth waiting for, plus if we keep rushing them then a error could happen in the build and set them back. We will know when it happens cause Im sure it will be all over this forum. Do your thing Bubba, when its ready, its ready.

I was just asking I'm not rushing I just wanted to see if anyone had an update you know if they got anything working or not I'm sorry

Bo: Clean out some PM space. Can't PM you back lol

I've just been looking through the Sammy source, figuring out how it's structured, and how to integrate it into CM7.

The gameplan I'm leaning towards is this: build our kernel from source (so we can make sure that the driver modules in our CM7 build will be 100% compatible), then pull the CM7 source tree, and then follow Sammy's instructions for the 'platform' package, then build.

If all goes well, we should have CM7 with functioning Broadcom HCI.

I think its kinda shitty how everyone is talking about the last guy taking peoples money and running. He said for every 10 dollars he got he would devote one hour and I believe he did that, just didn't get to finish due to circumstances.

People are assholes. Move on.

I, and many other people (generally the only ones that matter) respect Unforgiven for the time he put in.

Whoever doesn't has no grasp of the realities of a project like this, and their opinions are void.

In short: **** 'em.

He put his time in but out of respect to people that did give take 5 seconds out let people know your done and say thanks to those who did. I understand people have a personal life. a little respect goes a long way.

Do you think that EXT4 has anything to do with the data problem?

EXT4 is just a filesystem. Should have nothing to do with the radio features.

UPDATE: Well, got the normal Samsung kernel compiled from source, adding a few modifications (EXT2,3,4) and going to attempt to compile and test the new kernel.

does anyone listen to what i say?

seriously, grab the prevail cm7, make an ext4 kernel for you phone... im willing to bank on it boots and youll have a 75% working cm7 rom :O

you guys share teh same chipset, wifi, bluetooth, camera etc etc... the biggest differences will be getting apns and minor cosmetic changes.

also for the record, this has 0.000002% chance of ever being official, so dont worry to much about dirty hacks. cm7 is over and cm9 is rolling

Funny you should say that, just literally got the kernel compiled and tested. :DDDD

I agree. I mentioned it before several times. Just hate to see you guys struggle when most of the work is already done for you. It's basically like when programming anything, you have a library (STL-Standard Template Library), etc. why re-invent the wheel?

Anyways, like I also said, Hroark said he would help in his CM7 prevail thread if he sees that someone is actually making a real effort.

Hahahaha what great timing. How'd that work out?

Adding my name to the kernel version so I can take a screenshot and flaunt it for you guys. Then I'll be building CM7.2, integrating the kernel and building a CWM zip for testing.

I'm familiar with not reinventing the wheel, but this is also a learning exercise for me as well. I'm a C++ programmer, and very familiar with Linux (running Ubuntu 11 with a custom 3.1 kernel built for my Core i7 rig, fasssssstttttttttt), but this is my first Android outing.

I agree, He has done alot for our phone, people need to relize that everything that is going on now, all stems from what he has started, He is the one that broke the ground and this phone.
