Root [ROM] CM7 TG-Reloaded (Final: 03-25)

I am not sure if it is an issue with this version, but the one just before this, would not auto rotate to landscape.

**EDIT**

Getting the same thing with the 1/18 build. Anyone else getting this?

Install the "Androlib sensors" app and see if the g-sensor and other sensors are all still working. Also check in settings to see if for some reason the setting for "rotate screen" is disabled or not. Flashing ROM/kernels can mess with the settings sometimes.

Just had parts of my screen become responsive while using slideit keyboard on the new kernal, maybe its my phone? ) :

Locking and unlocking my phone always fixes it though

It is enabled, but how do I install the Androlib sensors app? I am not seeing it, is it on the market?

Sometimes the best solution to a complex problem is the simplest. Let me know if there are any problems with removing that file. It may be that at some point in the dev process they needed the binary as a workaround to get both BT & Wifi working, but then later it got a proper fix and wasn't needed, but stil called it.
What's that one scientific principle called, "The simplest solution is usually the right one"? Generally applies to computers too :-D

I installed AndroSensor,

it tells me the following are not supported
Accellerometer
Gyro
light
Magnetic field
orientation
proximity
temp
atmospheric presser

Just wanted to give a huge thanks to Whyzor for convincing me not to upgrade my phone for at least another year. Your continued updates and support for the Triumph are awesome. I appreciate what you do, keep those updates coming!

Yes, just need help testing them a little more & make sure nothing major breaks. New build this weekend. I may have some other tweaks added too.

Thank you!(: I also want to say thank you for all your hard work , its amazing how much work you have done!

After I enable wifi for the first time after a reboot, the phone won't go into deep sleep even after wifi is turned off. Is this a known issue with the 1/14 build or the 1/18 kernel?

I was excited about the BT/wifi working, so I've had it on all day and noticed the deep sleep issue.

I am using the 1-18 kernel and just want to report that rotation seems to work fine. Also, I was bummed when TickerGuy left us (though he does pop in from time to time) Then you stepped up and took it to another level. My phone has never run so well.

Battery life is the best it has ever been (keep working on that please :) ) wish they would just make a good extended battery, then it wouldn't be an issue. I never had any of the gps issues that others have had (knock on wood) a few bluetooth issues with disconnects that may have been fixed since I have not had a chance to test it myself. All in all this rom rocks. My thanks go to you and everyone before you that made it happen.

The phone will not go into deep sleep as long as either BT or wifi is enabled.
It should sleep like normal with both of them disabled. Mine does.

Edit:
Also, it was really cool to see BT and wifi enabled at the same time with only a 10% CPU load.

Indeed. After disabling wifi and BT an hour ago, the phone still has not gone into deep sleep. It goes into deep sleep after a reboot, but won't fall back into deep sleep after wifi/BT have been turned on for the first time.

It may be the MMC wakelock bug still, or it could be something else. You'd have to install the BetterBatteryStats app in the OP to know. I can't reproduce it.

As you guys know, I've tried everything out there, and Whyzor, I gotta say, Reloaded is AWESOME! Thanks for this ROM, I'm blown away by the smoothness and the improvement to my touch screen!

Here is my test procedure, using JuiceDefender to automatically toggle data/wifi off when my screen goes dark.

  1. I disabled BT and wifi and rebooted the phone
  2. I started BetterBatteryStats and set a custom reference, then exited the app
  3. I turned the screen off and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  4. I turned the screen on and started CPU Spy to find that the phone had spent 5:13 in deep sleep with 6:23 total state time (81% deep sleep, pretty good)
  5. I turned on wifi, let it connect to my network and verified the connection by visiting google.com
  6. I turned off wifi
  7. I turned the screen off and let it sit for another 5 minutes.
  8. I turned it back on and started CPU spy to observe that the phone has spent 9:41 in deep sleep and 13:42 total state time (71% deep sleep)
  9. I turned on wifi and leave it on
  10. I turned off the screen and let it sit for another 5 minutes.
  11. I turned it back on and CPU Spy reported 9:41 in deep sleep (no change) and 17:46 total state time (54% deep sleep).
  12. I open BetterBatteryStats and sort by Kernel Wakelock and record the results
My results -

mmc2: 3m 29s
mmc1: 3m 29s
mmc0: 3m 29s

It appears that something gets wacky when the phone display shuts off while wifi is still powered on. If I disable wifi manually before the screen timeout, the phone goes into deep sleep normally.

Once the phone fails to enter deep sleep, it seems to be unable to re-enter until a reboot.

As I write this, the phone has been on for 32:45 (mostly with screen off) and the deep sleep timer is still at 9:41.

Your test procedure just reproduces the already known problem that having bt or wifi on prevents deep sleep (post #1). Must have BOTH off to go into deep sleep.

Oops! I should have also mentioned that I use JuiceDefender, so both data and wifi get turned off after I turn my screen off. I'm doing some tests with JD disabled right now.

Just a heads up on an app: I installed the Skyvi app this morning to try out and it seemed to totally bork my phone. Went into constant reboots etc. After finally getting it uninstalled had to go back and clear cache and davlick cache and reflash the rom. Everything seems to be ok now but just thought I would throw that out there.

Whyzor,
Just wanted to report that tonight was the first time I've had opportunity to do an extended, screen-off BT test. Passed with flying colors.
Also, I haven't noticed any ill effects from the BT/wifi solution.

Man, I'm happy with this phone, thanks in no small part to your efforts!

(crowd goes wild)
:D
