Is it wrong/rude/illegal to decompile/reverse engineer the drivers?
I'm sure there is a reason that it's not done.
The reason not all source code is released (and only the linux kernel part is because they're legally required due to Linux's licensing model). They have to protect the intellectual property of Broadcom, the maker of the Wifi/BT chip. They wouldn't want a competitor to copy their algorithms if it somehow has better battery life, or performance than others. As for decompiling, that's an even harder route because it would require reading machine assembly code instead of somewhat human-readable C code.
You've heard my story. Maybe I change my usage habits to make your ROM more realistic. Changing ROMs on the fly to suit my needs sounds appealing, but don't you have to replace your widgets every time?
Any suggestions?
No need to replace widgets, NANDROID (in recovery) backups & and restores EVERYTHING in a ROM. All the settings, it's like taking a snapshot. Not to be confused with Titanium Backup, which is an APP that can cause more problems than the convenience it offers.
