Root [ROM] CM7 TG-Reloaded (Final: 03-25)

On the performance setting. Would that cause it?

Just recleared the cache settings and reflashed. We'll see how it goes!

If you're overclocked using the performance governor then your CPU is locked at the highest speed enabled. I wouldn't recommend the performance governor for any overclocked frequency and especially anything over 1.4gHz.. and really I don't imagine it would be good to use the performance governor as a daily default unless you're doing some benchmarking.. not to mention your battery life will be absolutely obliterated.

It is set to On demand now but I am still having the same issue after reclearing and reflashing.

You have to lower your max frequency to no higher than 1024 in order NOT be overclocked. Performance is just a governor that determines how fast or whether to lock the frequency at the highest setting. Go into Settings - CM Settings - Performance - CPU Settings - Max Frequency, set it to 1024 if it's not there.

It is set to 1024 max. Have restored to back before flashing the new rom and still seemed to be trapped in reboot land. Do I need to just do the factory reset and start all over because even the TG CM7 is stuck rebooting every few minutes now (did not do that before)?

You probably missed a step or something's wrong with your phone. Have to start over & follow the directions EXACTLY:

Have gone back to the beginning with a factory reset, clearing all of the cache and then reflashing everything. On the plus side it has not rebooted as I sit here waiting for all of my apps to reload! Will report back on how it is working and hopefully this new update of the Rom will work now!

Right. I'm just suggesting that the performance governor is not good to use as a daily for ANY overclocked frequency, especially anything over 1.4gHz.. except for benchmarking. Do you agree?

Yes, I may even remove performance, & conservative governor (practically useless) in a future version, it just confuses people. Besides performance governor can be simulated by setting low & high freq to be the same. There may be a slight overhead in the algorithm still running, but it's just setting the same frequency, I doubt any benchmark would even pick that up.

So in the performance settings, what does the "use JIT" do exactly, I've got a good routine on keeping my phone very clean and fresh. It has to function with the dalvic cache, but can anyone explain it to me, please and ty

My phone goes into endless reboots when my SD card is inserted....but I chalk that up to a bad SD card which i'm in the process of formatting now and not the fault of the ROM.

Installed 1228 version yesterday and ran it for several hours. Noticed a good improvement in the lowering of battery usage.

You can see the improvement in the charging state "leakage". On the left is before the ROM change. On the right is after the change. The new slope is less steep.

Thanks for your work.

Went back to the start and did a clean reinstall of everything and so far so Good now. Thanks for keeping progress going on this Rom!

JIT is a new feature introduced in Android 2.2, it should be enabled by default unless you have problems (which I haven't heard anyone have on the MT).

i just wanted to say thanks i flashed last night........every things better performance, battery life, havnt found anything bad yet.....1 random reboot on first boot but havnt had one since......also it runs grand theft auto 3 with no sound but smoothly

So I loaded the new build and for some reason, it blows away the icons I had setup. Not the end of the world but a bit of a pain.

Seems to be running ok.. hopefully battery is a lil better as my battery with B08 sucks really bad. :(

Reading through Tickerguy's original CM7 thread and noticed he said when wifi was enabled, the phone will remain at "one level up" from deep sleep.
Is this the case in this ROM? I'm assuming most of the coding is based off TG's github. I'm only asking because I've never had the deep sleep problem in the last two betas. Wifi enabled would drain 4% per hour idle and 3G would drain 2% per hour.

Basically, my question is: could it be possible that while wifi prevents deep sleep just as always with CM7, could this version of the ROM allow it not rest at "one level up" but at full CPU wake instead?

I appreciate your work and am loving this ROM more than ever. Thank you for taking on future development of this port :)

Your icons were probably set up on stock launcher. You can download and install the stock Gingerbread launcher (google launcher2.apk) and your icons should come back assuming you didn't format data while flashing (or restore launcher with titanium if you have a backup)

Since reinstalling everything from the beginning last night it has all been working great. Much better battery life etc! Was recalibrating the battery with the Battery Recalibration app so after a full charge let it run completely down. Now, when charging it I am getting the reboot issue again. Never had a single reboot all day (using it a ton) until after the battery ran down and I started charging again. Any ideas where this is coming from?

I haven't changed anything with the wifi sleep code. The only thing changed was to a call to wake_unlock since it was preventing the kernel from going into deep sleep. I've never noticed a CM7 ROM on the MT able to deep sleep with the wifi on according to CPU spy.

No idea, sounds like it could be a hardware issue.

whyzor... can you modify the nexus live wallpaper to look like this one? it used to be like that but it got changed along the way. :( thankyou

I'm not really interested in digging into live walllaper code. The time invested would only benefit a few people. You could try searching for one that you like from another device and just install it on this ROM.

Since the phone got above the 15% battery mark all has been fine so maybe that had something to do with it? Anyway the update is great!
