Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

Yes I am. i read the topic and didnt see there was an issue. Will using another theme work?
I appreciate all the work you're doing. This is awesome

Well turned out it was the handcent app, if I set it to "default messaging app" it will not send or receive mms. I just turned off the notifications on the stock app and set handcent to normal. I have no problem using the stock app I just need the enter keep as a spacedown key not a send.

u might still be able to use handcent if u adjust the mmsc server.

I see that I'm not he only one that had problems with Handcent. I set it up just like I've been running it for almost a year on my Prevail. When I got my Marquee, installed CTMod, then installed Handcent, it wouldn't work. I tried that sucker for days man and it still would not download. Stock MMS worked fine.

I ended up going with ChompSMS and it works great. I liked it so much that I went ahead donated and got the ads removed. :D:p

EDIT: I'm sure that Handcent not working had nothing to do with CTMod since the stock and ChompSMS MMS worked perfectly. See ya Handcent ........ HELLO CHOMPSMS! :D

Yeah, that's what a lot of others have said too. I just can't get it to work on mine for some reason. It's all good though, ChompSMS is a nice app. It works just as well and I'm happy with it. Darn things just got me stumped as to why it won't freakin' work. Atleast I now know that it's not just my phone that's having issues with Handcent. lol:D

I got the same issue but it's not just with ctmod. handcent worked up until about a month ago

The only reason that I said that I installed CTMod and it didn't work was because I installed CTMod as soon as I got my phone lol. I just listed the steps I took. Didn't even try Handcent on stock. I'm 99.9% positive that it has nothing to do with CTMod because stock MMS worked perfectly. ;)

I'll go back and add that I'm sure it had nothing to do w/ CTMod, to my earlier post. Don't want people thinking I'm blaming it on the ROM because I'm not. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.:D

Its not the rom, I actually installed it on the stock rooted version and it did the same thing. Im still using handcent. I just removed notifications from the stock mms app so when i get a text only handcent pops up with a notification. It was as simple as just clicking off notifications on the original app.

One last question, does the update running in the background drain the battery? I have the screen at little to almost no brightness and my cpu set at 300/1200 on demand. It was fully charged. I sent a message and checked twitter real quick and the battery ran down to 93% in 5 mins.

if u use your phone extensively ive noticed a drain 1% every minute.

Its the screen size and the fact that ur running your cpu and gpu overclocked

Works fantastic Blood. This was my first root, and a bit scary:

It looks like some of the newer versions of the marquee (bought mine 2 weeks ago) require you to push power+volume+the button with four squares on it to get back to the factory boot screen so you can do a hard reset.

The routine is like this: hold power + volume + the 4 square box (menu?) button. The lg menu will pop up. After about 7-10 seconds, it will disappear, then reappear. Release when it reappears, and it will jump into the factory reset/wipe options.

I got stuck in a reboot loop once I'd flashed my boost mobile marquee and had the sprint software on it - before install clockwork to upgrade to CTMOD.

It took me 2 hours of being very afraid I'd bricked my phone before I found someone mention this on a youtube video comment, and they were right.

The only problem I'm having is with the browser. For some reason, pages that I've add to favorites will not appear in widgets made to store bookmarks, like Android Pro Widgets.

I assume it's because they aren't storing their favorites in the same directory. I downloaded a different chrome version (Miro or Miren perhaps?) and that worked, but didn't have the tabbed browsing that the version you've included with CTMOD has which is brilliant.

Anyone know an easy fix, or a different widget that plays nice with the bookmarks of the built in CTMOD web browser?

The ROM is great as always. I just have a few issues which may have already been addressed in this thread. Going to menu's which require my MSL force close. When I restart my phone, there is no signal until I put it into airplane mode and take it out of airplane mode. And when my screen shuts off the music player and Spotify begin to lag.

But once again, thanks for the great ROM. It's certainly faster and way better than the stock ROM that came on it.

My games such as GTA 3 and Sonic 4 EP 1 work great too. I just wish there was support for HID devices as I have a bluetooth game controller I use with my tablet and I would love to use it on my phone for Super Mario or Sonic when i'm away from home and don't have my tablet ;)

Keep up the good work, much appreciated!

i put this rom on my sisters phone, and ran voltage control once... she is complaining of bad battery life even after doing battery calibration.

What are the best voltage control settings for battery life? (I don't have the phone, but I'll tell my sister what you tell me).

Battery life can be determined by a number of factors. Your signal quality, your running processes, your brightness levels, clock speeds..I'm sure the list goes on.

I get very good battery life with this ROM. I run a minimum of 220 and a max of 1000 with deadline scheduler and ondemand governor for the most part. Brightness set to Auto unless I need it brighter otherwise. I also turn my Wifi on at home, that helps too. I don't run any applications in the background besides Gtalk.

Probably Min-220,Max-1000, gov-deadline and I/O-on demand. That would probably be the best settings and still have it run decent

Thanks that's interesting about the overheating. I have been using a case for as long as I can remember and sometimes do feel it get hot...off the case goes!:(

When it recently froze during my browsing on dolphin I don't think I had even been using for more than a few minutes so I honestly don't think it was hot but will keep a closer look at it from now on.

I really don't know what to do next guys. Any suggestions?

So I took off the case to see if it was overheating. Yesterday morning I wake up to find that my phone is frozen with the screen off...interesting. So I wonder maybe charging is overheating so last night night I take off the back case.
I wake up and it's fine but I go in check my emails and then try to browse one website and I can tell it's starting to get laggy. Force close pops up and after a 2-3 minutes I am able to close. I try to do more testing and go back in to the browser and surf but first website it does the same thing and force closes but this time I can't click anything. The screen freezes on and no buttons are responsive besides the lights for the soft buttons.:mad:

When it freezes it is random so I will have to do a little more testing to see if there is any overheating going on but I couldn't have been using it for more than 3-4 minutes when it starting acting up this morning.

My phone was doing that also after charging or sitting inactive for a period of time. I bumped my low clock speed to 300 and it quit doing it. It may not be what is happening on your phone but I would try that because its an easy fix.

If that doesn't fix it up I would probably reflash the rom/kernel and see if that fixes it.
