Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

Just a quick question how would I go about putting in a boot audio. I have already done the boot animation and tried to put my mp3 file in /system/media/audio/system, but no audio during boot. Would I need to put the audio file in the same boot animation location (/system/media) or need to put it somewhere else?

I'm not sure if CTMOD comes with the appropriate folders already, but you will need system/media/audio/system. Basically if you don't have a folder named system in the audio folder, create it, then put your PowerOn.mp3 in that folder and it should fix you up. For whatever reason, make sure that PowerOn.mp3 is exactly like that. For some reason it is case sensitive. If the P or the O are lowercase for me it would not work. I had the same trouble a while back when I first got this phone and rooted.

Save your file as /system/etc/poweron.wav and set it's permissions to a+r, u+w (user=rw, group=r, world=r).

Recently my marquee started force closing a lot of my apps. I am using CT Mod 3.6.8 and the ice blue theme from sik00. Have my max set at 1300 and min set at 500 with governor on demand. Until a few days ago these settings worked great for me. Now after uninstall and a re install everything seems to be OK. Apart from re flashing everything, does anyone have another suggestion?

I get a .acore FC every other boot or so, and was getting regular FCs on gapps until I downgraded gapps to 2.3.3 (through GooManager). OCCASIONALLY, I'll get a gapps FC since downgrading the package.

I don't know if the issue stems from 3.68, the green theme I am using, or what. But, it's not enough to make me stop using CTMod

Try rebooting into recovery, clearing the cache and dalvik-cache, and fixing permissions.

tried both and no luck.. is there a certain file size that i should be using and if so what is it. i read on a couple topics that it should be no more than 30 seconds if its at 128kbs. thanks guys for the help

I did as you suggested Jay. Hopefully this will fix some issues I've been having. Thanks for the advice.

:D

completely ignorant here.... what is the purpose of Goo Manager? I know I can see compatible roms for my marquee but as a general user what can I benefit from the program? Jay mentioned that he downgraded his "gapps" (google apps) but I am unclear on what that means. Appreciate all of the awesome feedback and support. :)

it also tells u when there is a new rom update from blood, but its kinda buggy, its said that ctmod had 3 updates in about 2 weeks. but u can also download blood's theme thru it to without having to go to the forums.

yeah monster, i kind of figured that out after I posted my question. anything else that the program can be good for?

It's good for up/down-grading gapps ;-)

I was getting nonstop FCs (which, coincidentally, JUST started happening again) from Google Apps (play store, google services, talk, and some other closed-source essential google apps), so I used GooManager to download a previous version of gapps in hopes it would fix it. For a while, it seemed to. Now, I have all of the same problems, again.

I'm going to try completely wiping my phone and reinstall

the FC's are cause the app signatures don't match the rom.

why'd you install gapps to begin with? anything thats not included in the rom can just be downloaded on the market or is in the removedapps.zip.

Blood, I'm still getting the occasional FC with the browser. I don't use it much but the past 2 times I've used it the thing has FCed on me. I start it right back up and it works fine. Running CTMod3.6.8.

Not a biggie , just wanted to let you know.

Because I thought it might work. I just reinstalled and didn't get any FC's until I installed GreenMod_Final, then I got one for acore and two for gapps. I've rebooted three times since then with no issues.

Haven't had that problem either. I use a volume control app though. That might be the reason I'm not having that problem. Give Volume Ace a try. I've got the paid version but the free 1 may help you out. :D

Kewl, I'll give it a shot.
Thanks

The theme was definitely the culprit. I reinstalled and set everything back up without GreenMod and haven't had a single issue :-)

How come when i download CTMod and extract the files to my desktop i dont see a zip? I remember when i put CTMod on my prevail i copied an actual zup file to my sd card. All i get now are files and folders. Any help with this?

Can anyone else verify this:

BT send a file from your phone to your puter and see if the upload arrow in the upper left is animated... Then BT send a file from puter to phone and see if the download arrow in the upper left is animated also.

I have animated upload but download is not animated...

I just installed the rom. I like it so far. One think that slightly annoys me. Can I change the way applications are displayed? Rather then move side to side, is it possible to scroll through the applications up/down like on the Optimus s
