Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

fwiw, I tried fast reboot and didn't do much, youtube just locked up. Going to try recommended kernel by blood to see if that fixes it.

Ya 1200 is perfect for this phone i think. Just installed it and it does feel much better! Will see if it farts out in a couple days but Ill tell ya pandora doesn't get all funky at screen off/screen on anymore. Thanks man!

I agree completely. After testing different speeds overclocking and underclocking the CPU 1200Mhz seems to be the sweet spot with this phone.

I have noticed however (and perhaps it is just me being the anal retentive perfectionist that I am, or the phone is being moodier then normal). After 2 weeks of having it set to 1200Mhz that the phone seems to be laggier then normal. I did figure out it was the governor, however I have yet to find one that seems to satisfy me.

I have bean using CTMod 3.68 for boost for the past 9 days and i have to say it is awsome no 3g issues are no MMS issues i would recommend this rom over the stock rooted ZVC.

Got a question. Why does CTMOD take so long to boot? it takes about a minute to boot from boot animation to usability. I have installed ICS and JB (both Alpha's) and it goes from boot animation to usability in under 30 seconds. And I have the same applications installed and I have the same programs loading at startup (via Autorun Manager Pro).

Now I have noticed that stock android rooted and all and CTMOD share this same issue. CTMOD is based on the same ZVC as the stock version.

I have Hyperkernal 2.2 installed and it is OC'd to 1200Mhz.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

it doesn't.

stock CTMod/Hyper 2.2 with nothing changed boots from the start of the LG splash to the lock screen in 21 seconds and from just the boot animation to the lock screen in only 6 seconds. now each boot may be a couple seconds different but thats the average time for me and with apps installed it takes a few secs longer but not much.

so I don't know why its taking you that long, other than something you have installed is slowing it down.

Ics and JB are going to boot quicker. Typically, even as alphas they are going to run smoother and have a more buttery feel. It is from improvements made in the OS and source trees themselves. Otherwise, it would just be GB with a theme and a few more features ;)

You can load any GB based rom onto your device and they will have longer boot times. It's not just CTMOD

I will look into it deeper. perhaps a fresh wipe and reinstall will help.

I just dug out my old MT4G and timed it and noticed that GB takes forever compared to ICS on this Marquee of mine. I am starting to think GB as a rule isn't optimized. Thanks.

fwiw I had loaded 1.5 - it just locked up as it was about to play a youtube video, going to try HYPER v0.2 and see what happens in the next few days.

edit: loaded V0.2 and lost wifi - settings showed wifi error?? Went back to 2.2 and looking for something to reboot the phone every evening as a temp fix

Try fast reboot from the play store

Not much use but good non the less. Still got a lot of battery left too. This is CTMOD w/ the 2.0 kernel. :D

Blood, just wanted to let you know that your gb test kernel kicks ass. I can now overclock to 1400 stable with zram enabled. Been running it at that for 4 days with no lockups, reboots or any issues. Plus my battery actually seems to be lasting longer. :D

I'll update my github later tonight. I'm working on the 3.0.8 kernel right now, using it with the CM10 nightly trying to figure out why the usb drivers aren't working with the marquee but everything else is except for ril. and for some reason the kernel doesn't boot with your rom, it just stays at the LG screen.

Awesome thanks. I would love to get the ics kernel going. Let me know if I can help .. I'm pretty good with kernels. I got the spectrum ics kernel running based off the p930 sources. :)

Mine takes extremely long as well. On the order of 40-50 seconds. I've reflashed twice with no change. 24 seconds on the LG logo, 34 seconds of clockwork flashing. (Just timed it).

I also have the bug where if you do not reboot the phone once a day, after 24 hours or so it will lock up. It won't lock while it's sitting, you go to run an app and it locks up. This has happened on both reflashes. I've installed a reboot script that reboots at 4 AM everyday, and I haven't had a lockup since.

My wife has an LG as well, and her LG splash stays up for as long as mine does, and she's unrooted. I wonder why yours is so quick Blood.

I do love the mod. I'm really looking forward to ICS though. My phone still lags at times playing various games (dead trigger just kills it) and I'm hoping to see an improve on ICS or JB.
