Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

Installed this rom yesterday hoping it will solve my issues with GPS but still the same thing. GPS pretty much does not work. It has very week signal, does not lock in to the satellites, when it locks in, it stays locked in for a few minutes and drops it. Most of the time it says "searching for gps". Tried installing, uninstalling maps, roms, soft resetting, hard resetting. I've been using maps for at least 2 years or so and never had any problems. All this started few weeks ago. Any ideas, suggestions?

Hey blood an update on your test kernel
1. I had reboots a few times once my battery life was getting close to 15% with min 220 and max 1000
2. Some games started to lag so increased to 1400 and phone rebooted while in the game
3. Battery seems to be worse

So i switched back to 2.2. Thanks for your work.

I'm in hurricane area but it's been going on for the past 2 weeks. So hurricane is out of question. Of course wireless networks were enebled, but no difference.

Does anyone know if I can tether with CTMod on Sprint, if so what is required? How do I know if I'm doing it correctly- wont be billed an arm and a leg? Hopefully I wont need to but if the storm knocks down a pole, I got a generator and hopefully this marquee can get my pc online.

Works with no issues for me on CTMod

You will know it worked when your computer connects to the internet. It will effect the billing based on how much data you use. With Boost data is "unlimited" but I am not sure what Sprint plan you're on. Won't use too much more data unless you start going nuts with downloads. You will know if you use it too much when you get the text message.
 
still running pretty smooth for me. I've only had a couple of battery pulls in the last couple of weeks and they happened while I was using it. Unlike the sleep of death from before. The one thing that I have had happen across each of the kernel's is they seem to get stuck on the max mhz setting and drain the battery every now and then. When I go into setcpu it's pegged. I can switch to a different governor and back again and that seems to kick it back into switching to a lower frequency, but if undetected my battery just gets drained. I don't know if it's just the setcpu app that isn't refreshing the display, or if it really is stuck. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for all the hard work Blood! Much appreciated.

Is setcpu the only app you are using? You don't have voltage control or anything else installed?

Also, as seems to be an issue in the past, did you save your settings to apply at boot? That can cause some issues as well. If so, clear your boot settings and that should help. If not, your phone may not like the app. I used antutu for a while but ended up reverting back to Voltage Control recently for similar reasons.
 
I had the same issue with voltage control, so I switched back to set cpu because I purchased the app and had more features available to me like time per frequency logging.
 
I've had it happen with An Tu Tu CPU Master and Voltage Control both. It just recently started doing it with Voltage Control so I switched back to CPU Master. For some reason it will stay on certain gov settings better than others. I'm running mine on lagfree now and it seems to be holding.

I don't see any option in Settings.

i think i remember when i got a phone(not rooted) there was an option to update Profile and update PRL, once i installed this ROm i can't find it.

I'm on Sprint.
currect PRL: 60686

is there some app to get my MSL #???

Just a little FYI, that's the way I've always changed a prl on a phone that had the option to UPDATE. Don't know why you posted the link for the msl either. You don't need that unless you are going to force a prl change.
That's a whole different ballgame.

I wanted to open an advance options to change http proxy "bs"
and needed msl to edit and didn't want to call sprint.

I installed ctmod on my marquee and I was poking around and found that in the LG Hidden Menu, Network Select was missing and you cannot use CDG2 shortcuts anymore. This acts just like the stock ZVC install. Any update on this? I like the rom, it was sleek and fast. Thanks for any help.
 
I'm sorry Blood but I went from CTMod to the MIUI mod.

Why? Those annoying clicking noises whenever I listened to music while browsing the web. Sometimes I set an ini script for voltage and the minimum was automatically set to 120 :(
 
Hmm. I've flashed both of those themes this week and haven't had any problems. This is how I installed mine:

While in CWM, clear cache and then clear dalvik. Go to ADVANCED and reboot recovery then flash the theme.

Also please make sure that you're flashing the correct theme for your carrier. Sprint or Boost.

I would definitely try what the Skater recommend if you re still having problems. If none of that works, do a factory wipe in CWM, go to ADVANCED and reboot recovery then flash the theme. That should definitely stop the force closes. You'll have to install all of your apps again but like I said, you shouldn't have anymore force closes. :thumbup:

Is there a way to change/modify sms/mms threads how it displayed?

I've seen a couple of screen shots where Date and Day displays in the home screen title bar.
what can i do to display Date in title bar?

Right after you flash your theme, while still in CWM, go to ADVANCED and select the reboot recovery, then go back to ADVANCED and select fix permissions. Wait on it to finish. It may take several minutes to complete then select reboot. See if that will fix your problem. If that doesn't work, doing a factory wipe then flashing the theme should work.

Check out either Handcent or Chompsms. Those 2 messaging apps will give you the options you are looking for. You'll just have to go through one of those apps and look for what you need. I use Chompsms and love it. It has all kinds of ways to theme it and modify options.

What is the specific things you are wanting to do with the messages? Let me know and I'll see if I can give you a step by step tutorial on how to do it. Please be specific with your questions.

As far as the status bar, I'm not aware of anything you can do short of tweaking the framework. Aokp roms let you modify things like that, but not with this
