Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

Which version kernel is most stable? Which link did you add back Blood and where can I find it?

Here is a link to the test kernel. As for which one is more stable, I think that depends on your phone. There's only one way to find out and that's to try them both. This is the newest. You'll have to read back a ways to find the other one. If you would have read back 1 page, you would have found this one. :p

Blood, just wanted to let ya know that I have been getting some serious lag out of the new test kernel. It hasn't actually locked completely up on me yet but it's came close. I'm gonna revert back to the 1st test kernel for now. Thanks

Seems to be running fine to me so far. No lag or fc's.

Same here. No locksups since install and I haven't turned the phone off. The only annoyance is that reflashing reset my governor etc, and I was down to 2% battery life because it defaulted to performance. That's fixed though and I have had no issues.

However, (this may just be coincidence), the phone feels a bit more sluggish. Did you back off on the GPU overclock in this version? I'm having lag in Temple Run and Reckless Racing that I don't think I've seen before with your other kernels. Of course, not having the lockups is worth it.

so hows that test kernel #2 been doing for you guys? had to do any battery pulls or restarts?

No FC's or battery pulls but I have noticed that my games lag some. I play Big Win Football and while watching games it lags pretty bad. Battery life has been down a little more for me as well.

I have had more battery pulls than with the previous kernel. So far it seems intensive apps like games, emulators, streaming media, trigger them.

My sister is running this ROM on her marquee. Randomly on August 9th, 2012 her phone started to only make calls on Roaming, using the Verizon network. Her phone has essentially been making roaming only calls since this time, which has increased our bill!

Anyone seen this before? Sprint wants her to take in the phone to a store so they can check it out. Should she de-root before she goes in? My fear is they will say, you have rooted, so it is your problem not ours.
Easiest way to unroot? Or, maybe she can just install a stock rooted rom. Suggestions?

Voltage extreme absolutely refused to save my settings with the new test kernel. I could change them to deadline and smartassv2, then save it. It would look fine after reboot, setting the correct settings. However, after it went to sleep for an hour or two and I woke it up, the settings would 'disappear'. Repeated uinstalls/reinstalls/restores of Voltage didn't fix it.

Finally, I flashed back to hyper 2.2. Reflashed the test, then reinstalled voltage. That was about 3 hours ago, and so far so good.

I still have not had a single lock up or battery pull related to the test kernel, and I have rebooting daily turned off, so in that regard it seems much better than the old. Now that I /think/ voltage is happy, I'm very happy with the test kernel.

she updated the PRL, and this looks like it fixed it. If she somehow updated the PRL when she was in the mountains would this have caused this problem?

Possibly. The fact still remains that the phone does not need to be set to roam because it won't if you are on Boost. The next time you lose signal the phone will start to roam again. If you are using Boost the roaming indicator is just something that will bug the hell out of you. I would just set it for Sprint only and be done with it. :D

Installed this rom yesterday hoping it will solve my issues with GPS but still the same thing. GPS pretty much does not work. It has very week signal, does not lock in to the satellites, when it locks in, it stays locked in for a few minutes and drops it. Most of the time it says "searching for gps". Tried installing, uninstalling maps, roms, soft resetting, hard resetting. I've been using maps for at least 2 years or so and never had any problems. All this started few weeks ago. Any ideas, suggestions?

Install Tracker Booster from the market. Open it, start it, select 'run in background'. Then open and run maps. Should greatly improve your lock on

I lost 3G today and tried everything I could to get it back, even calling Boost to see if something happened to my account.

I ended up wiping my data and it came back but, I went ahead and updated my profile then, after I updated the PRL, the phone went into roaming mode. After selecting Sprint Only it had no signal and showed the red X.

I'm going to reinstall the rom and hope for the best.

REINSTALLED-- nope...didn't help at all. Now I have a roaming phone. Geez....anyone have suggestion on what I can do to get this phone working again? I've tried the ##786# method, reverting back to stock ....nadda. Tried searching how to manually update PRL and have failed to get a how-to for this phone. Thanks!

UPDATE: well, it works again--- I restored the saved stock version again that I had when i first bought the phone and it went into activation mode, guess because I used the ##786#. It activated, updated PRL then Profile and I am on the boost network all is fine.

Thanks, the part I don't get is how come it's been forking great for years and all of a sudden it stopped? Didn't do any updates, upgrades, etc. Very strange.

Update:
Installed tracker booster. Very minimum to no improvement. Still the same message on the bottom" searching for GPS" . It sees 3-4 satellites at times but constantly drops them. Been trying to find a solution for the past 3 days, no luck yet.

Would you happen to be in the hurricane area?

Could just be interference between you and the satellites

Also have you enabled the option to use wireless networks to assist with location?
