Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

You need to use the bluetooth fix here. Just flash the zips in cwm.

[ROM][Sprint/Boost] CTMod 3.75 Final (11/18/12) - Page 31 - Android Forums

Alright, so here's the big question... I'm not noticing any bluetooth problems on my Marquee using the new beta kernel and 3.75 final (I use a Jabra Drive device). So if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?

Also, I'm looking for a good Marquee overclocking for dummies resource... what can the Marquee be safely overclocked to (where you see performance benefit, but are still within safety margins). I've been a little scared of tinkering with the "Voltage Control" app that came with CTMod. Or, should I overclock with CPU Controls in Rom Toolbox Pro? Quite frankly, I'm not sure what I'm looking at other than the min/max Mhz speed. (Governor? I/O Scheduler?)

Don't worry about Voltage control, the kernel doesn't support voltage changes, you only can set, govs, frequency and schedulers...So you can use voltage control for Oc.

the bug with BT only happens when you gotta enter a password for it, other than that its fine. I should have the bug fixed in the update tho.

any of the frequencies you can select are safe and won't damage anything, but a couple of them don't work for everyones phone, mainly 1360 and 120.

to start off you can set the min to 220 and max to 1200. if that runs fine you can keep increasing the max a little at a time, if it starts to lag bad you went too high for your phone and you gotta lower it.

governors control the cpu scaling and heres some info on schedulers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1558153

Phone has been on for nearly two days now with no slowdown/freezing!

I'm thrilled-- finally, everything seems to be in place. Looking forward to trying the new Rom/Kernel when you're finished with it.

Also, I overclocked using Rom Toolbox Pro cpu tool, to 1200 as you suggested. Honestly, I'm not really noticing much of a performance difference, although when I run a benchmark my megaflops/s appear to be floppier. (13.62 vs. 10.346 at 1000mhz)

Thanks again for all you work and advice.

Having issues connecting my faptop (laptop, dell, with linux mint 13). It shows i have to match the code that pops up on my laptop with something thats suppose to pop up on the lg marquee (boost).

I read above that that is an issue.

Ill keep my eyes peeled for an update; the ct3.75.2 didnt flash to the lg (for the prevail).

Ill do any transfers with the usb cable until then.

Great mod, minus the BT not connecting, its one slick set up. Thank you BD and all others that worked on it.

MIUI released their new launcher: MiHome Launcher 2.0.0 released, with MIUI V5 theme and more!

its actually really fast and smooth. heres some screenshots of it installed to CT:

I just installed it to check it out. It's not bad at all. The themes take time to load but they always have so that's nothing new.

Like Bloodawn said, it's fast. I'm impressed.

Here's my MIUI. :D

Wow I have to log in to download miui -.- why don't they like put it on goo.im or on media fire?

Because it's being tested. They are trying to keep track of the people who download it. They are also wanting those people who have it to let the MIUI team know how its running.

I've been curious about something. What is the reason that Marquee rom development seems to have stopped at Gingerbread? Is this simply a factor of the phone's popularity (or lack thereof) or are there serious hardware limitations?

Thanks

Lol.
If you scrolled down from the CTMOD thread a bit you would have found it. I only posted this easily found link because you're new. Search a little harder next time. ;)
Why oh why? - Android Forums

thank you! i did search using "why oh why" in both the title & within the post and both ways showed no matches; i even did it with advanced search & still got nothing. i don't know why nothing showed up for me, but thanks again.

Sometimes is best just to scroll through the threads. :D

Hi guys just need to confirm something. I'm using version 3.68 of CT mod. If I want to install the latest version, should I do a factory reset/erase all data, before installing the new version? I seem to recall BloodDawn saying that wasn't necessary, but can't seem to find that post.

P.S. Any SMS restore programs that actually work? Last time I upgraded the rom I lost all my SMS, and wasn't able to extract them from the backup. Any suggestions on how to restore the messages once the rom is upgraded?

You don't need to wipe anything, the install will automatically do it.

I used to use Sms Backup +, it worked well.

Btw, in a week or two I'll be doing another update so I dunno if you want to just wait for it or not.
