Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

question......can i use ringback tones with ctmod3.6 also my phone has been randomly rebooting itself dont know if others are seeing this happen so i just went back to ejo6 to see if its just another fa19 bug

I don't know about the ringback tones, if you have been able to use them before you should still be able to.

did you overclock your phone? if you have it clocked too high you'll reboot.

This is about as easy as it gets to add removed apps back to /system/app

➯ Download this: ApkInstaller.zip
➯ Open it using 7zip
➯ Drag and drop the apk's you need to the system/app folder in the zip
➯ Put ApkInstaller.zip on your sdcard
➯ Boot into CWM and flash it
➯ Thats it

pardon my ignorance but how do you drag and drop the apk's i need (and which 1s do i need) to the system/app folder in the zip??

My phone rebooted at least once daily while I had it oc'd to 946 with CT 3.5 irrespective of governor and scheduler settings. I didn't mind that it happened because I wanted to be sure it was something like overheating instead of the mod, and I suspect that's correct now that I've had 3.6 with the oc at 888 (an auspicious number in certain countries!) and the phone has not rebooted on me once in almost a week of regular use.

over heating is not good in any way. mine runs 90's and will only get in 100's if charging and talking to wife for 30 min lunch break the whole time and charging at same time.

Thanks for the advice. Incidentally, I have a soft silicon skin on mine that I'm fond of as I've already dropped it once and not a scratch to the device, but I'm thinking it may hamper the phone's ability to cool off - any experience with this?

i have one too on screen, and that will not hinder it enough to worry about. all phones are different, and some will work differently set at different ways. mine gets kinda hot just on a charge. just need to figure out what your phone likes.

I've experienced the same quite warm phone when charging and talking at the same time - not related to the rom I'm sure. Probably good practice to limit doing both at the same time for prolonged periods. But as I said with oc @ 888 I've had no issues whatever so I'd cast my lot with those whose experience with the latest CT rom is solid.:)

yes and everyones phone is different so need to try something different and see what works best for your phone.

has anyone ever found out why the phone reboots when its overclocked?

Some phones cannot handle being overclocked. Take mine for instance.... I can only overclock it to 900MHz-925MHz. Some phones can't even handle that. Some will start rebooting if set at anything over 800MHz.

Yep like mine. If I.go ANYTHING over stock the phone will freeze within 5 seconds or less. It will just freeze wherever the screen is and you can't do anything at all. It will stay like that locked until you power it off. Sucks not being able to be one of the cool kids :(

It's a fact i have two prevails one can handle being over clocked at 946MHz the other cant make it over 900MHz even with the same rom settings and set up

Mine will run any load at 900MHz but will only run at 925MHz when running the less CPU taxing apps. If I set it at 925MHz and try to run maps it will reboot after a few minutes.

and mine must be one of the lucky ones, i run 946 with no heat or any problems. some will and some won't.

Yep. Mine is one of the first Prevails that came out. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not but I'm very happy with 900MHz. It's 100MHz more than I had. :D

I was gonna get an HTC Evo when they come out so I would have a faster phone but have decided against it for now. The Solstice is going to need tires and they are right around $1000 (ouch). I'm happy with my 900MHz Prevail for now. Tires come first seeing as I'm traveling 160+ miles to and from work/school weekly. My little Prevail has been a great phone and will work nicely until I decide to get a new 1. Who knows.... I may wait until the next Black Friday rolls around.

take what we get and then try to improve on it, but can only improve so far and that is it!!!!! so what you have is what you have!!!
