Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

I know alot of people run themes me included my question is how can you go back to the original ctmod 3.6 theme after flashing other themes is there a ctmod 3.6 theme zip to go back without having to reinstall the whole ctmod

That's were backups are worth their weight in gold. Here is my normal procedure lol.

Fresh CT install. Before installing any apps I make a backup

Install all my wanted apps on stock theme and make a backup

Install a theme and make a backup

Everytime I want a theme I restore to the basic CT with all my apps and theme it then back it up. I then. Rename all my backups. You came rename any of your backups and call them whatever you want. JUST NEVER LEAVE A SPACE BETWEEN ANY LETTERS OR NUMBERS.

My SD card looks something like this

3.6bare

3.6loaded

3.6loaded.carbonlite

3.6loaded.darktimes

3.6loaded.redFX

3.6loaded.green

Etc,etc.

That way I can go restore any theme I want and I don't have to worry about flashing any themes over each other because they can mix and cause issues...

Its not necessary to save each theme as I do but I highly recommended you should always backup the bare CT mod and another after all your apps are installed. Just call them bare and loaded or whatever is good in your book. Then use your loaded version and blast away and throw whatever you want at it. If you get bored of what u did or mess shit up then you just restore your loaded version and leave well enough alone or blast away at it again :D

Im with you, I do the same thing minus renaming. The clockworkmod folder can get pretty big(up around 4-5gb worth of backups), but I delete all backups after I install a new rom. Because the backup folder gets so big, then you factor in having your sd card partioned, I think you really need a 16-32gb card to do all the fun stuff and still be safe with backups.

Yep :) I'm at 2.7 gigs but I just deleted 2gigs last week. I only got a 8gig card so space is limited. I got a 16gig waiting on me but I just gotta go pick it up from a special friend :D she understands my sickness and has agreed to accept it and help contribute to my insanity. Lol

I call it being safe others around me call it an addiction lol. Whatever..............:rolleyes:

Need some help here i get everything done correctly in your thread up until the part right after i flash the rom onto the phone, it just constantly re boots into clockwork, it loads up the kernal then does a reboot shows the samsung logo, then goes into clockwork, thats as far as i can make it and i have re flashed the stock, then rooted, then done it again still not working

is it possible to modify the lock screen to not JUST slide to the sides?
cause im thinking of getting a really awesome lockscreen and try to get it working for the prevail..
(and maybe add it to my theme) lolz

you know how to edit smali and xml's? cause your going to need to if you want to add a lock screen or switch to a different one.

Maybe one day, Microsoft will release it's stranglehold on exFAT and we'll see a real SDXC driver for Open Source platforms

Yeah right:rolleyes: I love my Xbox but 2 things always erked me about it, 1) how much you get charged for the hard drive, whether it comes with the system or bought separately, and 2) after all these years they still wont allow 3rd party wireless controllers to be made.

Heres a dream for the future of phone storage; why not make a hard drive attachment? Smart phones are so thin that it wouldnt be that hard to either make it a little fatter with a hard drive built in, or as an attachment that would go over the back of the phone. This would be a good idea in the next gen to next 2 gen of phones that are getting computing power equivalent to PCs from a few years ago. Having say a 500gb hard drive would allow for even larger applications to be used instead of just a couple mega-byte apps. But I guess for all this to happen they would first need a nuke battery to power everything.

Considering the roll out market on newer "high end" so to speak mobile devices you would think they would have thought of this but what do I know I'm just a consumer who needs more space lol :D

Anyone else having issues adding/importing contacts?

edit: it seems theyre there, as when i go to send a text, names show up as i enter the numbers, but nothing shows in the contacts list... makes it tough to call ppl.... names show up when i recieve a call..
 
this rom is running great, smooth. happy with it!!! on 3.5 i used apps to keep the running mem up and i had no problems with 3.5 and was great, now on 3.6 the running mem stays up and is fast and smooth!!!!!!!
 
question......can i use ringback tones with ctmod3.6 also my phone has been randomly rebooting itself dont know if others are seeing this happen so i just went back to ejo6 to see if its just another fa19 bug
