Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

I keep getting a force close every time I try to download a podcast from joerogan.net or death squad.tv This is a recent development as I just downloaded one yesterday and I haven't changed anything since then. Any ideas?

it would be helpful to know what app is FC'ing

It is the new chrome browser...not the one that came with 3.6. I just did a restore from the other day and its working now. Not sure what I messed but its working now. :-)

is it link your clicking? try changing from Android to Desktop mode if it happen again or click link again right after it fc. sometimes takes two tries

RTLFlat:
what version koumamod.apk you got. if it not 1.5 you need update from kouma kernel thread. 3.6 don't have update. and 3.6 might format but I flash formatter anyways cuz it take 2 seconds and then it for sure format. up to you but it not like it take long.

and if you don't select the path to swapfile or partition and click save in koumamod then you not using swap

I have the one that came in CTMod 3.6. In the KoumaMod settings it's Swap Path is /dev/stl13 and its priority is set to 100. Swapiness set to 60.

I looked at the current KoumaMod in /system and the correct 2 lines are uncommented that uses the SSM setup.

Sorry if it was asked before...here is an issue I am having with CTMod: on my wired headset, the button does not end the call anymore. It does answer a call so the phone recognizes the push but again, since CTMod (vs. stock) it does not end the call. Any ideas what can I do to fix that?

Thanks

get the new koumamod.apk

check kernel thread
I got tutorial thread bout it. check my posts or just look through first page or two. version 1.5

and what your setup? you can only use stl13 if you use /data with internal disabled

in accessibility in settings check power button end call. if that don't work ask blood why he broke it. you break you buy

I'm using SSM with 16gb sdcard 2048/swap-2048/ext-11836/fat but I thought it automaticaly set it all up itself when I installed ctmod. I ran SSM then installed ctmod3.6.

nope. get new app. gotta use a swapfile. only way you can make partition on ssm is if you got another position on sd (mmcblk0p4) which require advanced walk through from the prevailing Gods.

stl13 a no-no for you though. you trying to swap your data.

edit:
another option is
#
next to line in /system/koumamod next to part bout /data/dalvik-cache on mmcblk0p3. then flash wipe dalvik formatter zip for SSM. now you got only app on sd and dalvik back on internal so you can use that partition for swap. gotta # that line first tho and wipe and reboot

If you need help with a 4th partition swap setup with ssm, you can pm me also. I set it up on mine a while back. I'll try and make an easier way... maybe a bat file or something... Something to do this week on nights...:(

I'm guessing that I'm just mis reading and misunderstanding things that are being said to me on this forum. All this time I thought it was all setup and working the way it's supposed to, and it's not. My head hurts. lol I dont get it.

that wipe my sd huh? I had someone send me guide while ago for setting up 4th but every time I'm by computer to backup my sd I don't think about it. mmcblk0p3 is big enough that I could split in two if that could be done in terminal without losing my files....

True, and there are much easier options to set up swap. I sent it to you a while back via email, I think. It's much easier to use swap file, but I wanted to try ssm and swap partition... basically just so I could do it. It was a personal challenge, and I learned a lot doing it. That being said, its easier to set up a swapfile and use it. Unless you just want to challenge yourself. You need a PC, you will need to backup your SD card as it will format it, unless you want to rearrange your partition info; which takes some configuring.
So, all things considered, you can get the same gains using a swapfile instead of a partition... really no need for the partition swap. It's a personal choice.
:cool::)

O ya I guess that was you that sent me that.stop following me

and I got class 10 tho. right now my swap with priority 32mb file in /data/swap so still on stl13. when that over flow (rare) it go to 100 mb file on /data/app (mmcblk0p2)

I prefer SSM over data and partition swap would keep my space accurate. my data show 31mb free instead 63mb and it look like I got 100mb more apps than I do. plus it just keep it tidy and convenient.

I always set it to desktop mode when downloading through links thanks to one of your, or one of the other smart people's previous posts that advised me to do so. The only thing I had changed was I got rid of the default path in swap settings /dev/block/stl13 because it didn't seem to be being used. It is back on there since I restored, and it worked first try. Could that have been the problem?

I tried data mode with my class 10 16gb card... seemed sluggish to me even with swapfile. Ssm was much faster, thus the swap partition n ssm.

your on SSM so you're not able to use stl13. that's just the default for the koumamod.apk. it's not able to format partitions for swap as a safety precaution. can only create swapfiles but is able to activate pre-formatted swap partitions.

unless you are /data with internal data disabled checked.... and also mkswap'd stl13 and then clicked save in app....
then you aren't using swap. on that partition at least. it's not possible to do that on SSM. try clicking save on stl13 and then go to terminal emulator and type
free

bottom line after "swap" it say 0 0 0

in accessibility in settings check power button end call. if that don't work ask blood why he broke it. you break you buy

The button I am talking about is on the headset, not the power button of the phone itself. The accessibility settings change the behavior of the button on the phone itself.
