Internal storage and system storage are completely different... The ROM goes on system storage. "internal memory" is for user data.

why do you need a startup sound larger than 43MB anyways?
The stock startup sound is only 825k

Contacts are synced through your Gmail account go to your contacts click menu and click sync or go to settings accounts & syncs then click on your gmail then click sync and it should upload it then once your got the rom flashed to the newest one just add you gmail account in the account % sync in settings and it should sync and you should have you contacts back .

Go to market Download Titanium Backup , then once installed click on Titanium back then click the menu key >Click Batch the Click Run Back up on apps+Data and then it will back up your apps .

Once you flashed to the latest CMTROM just re download titanium backup open the app click settings key click Batch then scroll down till you see Restore All Apps + Data and tada your apps are back .

CWM has a built in restore mode.
After you flash, provided you backed up before you flashed
Choose backup and restore advanced, restore, choose the
Last backup, then choose,data,.sd-ext, reboot
Now you have what you had before you backedup, even your
Desktop icons, settings too.

I don't use titanium backup, it's not safe on some things, safe to just
Use the built in clock work mod, CWM.

Yesterday morning I put 3.68 on. I reinstalled the hand full of apps from a fresh new install. They all ran fine for about six hours. I rebooted the phone and a few of them are force closing on me now. So far, go sms pro, gmail, big buttons keyboard deluxe, and email won't work and keep sending me forced closed messages. Also, the new voice mail notification icon won't go away even though I checked my messages.

Any ideas?

Try installing CTMod again and then do a factory reset/ clear cache and Dalvik cache. Then install your apps again. Hopefully that will fix your issue. :D

I'm new to this, so I want to make sure I have the steps right. Do I follow the order you mentioned?

1. Install CTMod again from zip already on the phone
2. factory reset
3. Clear Dalvik cache

Do I need to format any portions of the SD card?
