Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

i still want to force choke the people that think that apps2sd means that it makes apps show up in the "on sd card" tab in manage applications.

Fyi people, it's just a list of which apps have stored information on your vfat partition of your sd card. You know, all those weird folders that are in there that you don't remember making.... Because you didn't!
lmao

to the previous post about the market.. I just installed 3.68 on mine and the wife's prevail. i did it a few times on mine just to see which mode i liked better. I find data mode holds more apps so I eventually went with that. nice job Bloodawn and Kouma...thank you greatly for this!!!
Anyways about the market. Everytime I flashed fresh i found that after signing in to google and opening the market for the first time the market links were wrong about my purchased apps and versions so before I installed anything I went to settings-> Applications -> Manage Applications-> All tab-> scrolled down to google play and tap-> tap clear data. then go back and open the market/play again and everything was fine.

@ Koumajitsu.. The Koumamod.apk doesnt make swapfiles or anything, you just point it to whatever swap partitions/swapfiles you may have made on your system already correct?

I couldn't find a deffinitive answer to that in the threads so I was just wondering. At first I thought it might actually make the swapfile on sl13 because it was the default on previous versions. didn't realize it untill i went into a shell and ran the "free" command while swap settings pointed to stl13 and got
swap 0 0 0

since then, I have made an init.d script to create the swapfile on stl13 at boot like we talked about in the irc and then pointed the swap settings to it.

is my understanding of this correct?

It does not turn partitions into swap, but it will make swap files.
SDparter will make swap partitions on your sdcard that you would then point to in koumamod

I am aware of the partition side of it and thanks for the partitioning app btw. works real nice.. strait and to the point

so is there a way to tell it to make a swapfile or do I just point it to (eg.) /system/swap and it will auto make the file when I hit save?
and if so, will it make a new swapfile at every boot or make it perm?
sorry for all the questions.. :/

say that u wanted to make a swap file in /system/swap make sure u have created the folder named swap in the system folder then with koumamod long press and navigate to system/swap once in the swap folder there will be a thing saying use current directory click that then it will allow u to choose the swap file size u want and make the file for you

and it doesn't not recreate files and it is there at boot (unless u delete it of course) But it may reformat it tho that i am not sure of myself

ok this is where im stuck i did what it says here after flashing and before adding anything but its not seeming to load after quite some time. now if i re-flash it works but without these settings, any ideas what im doing wrong?

After you flash 3.68, in cwm, do a partition, set the size to something
I have a 16gb class4, so i chose 4gig, (think it's like 3.9)
Choose your size.

Next it will ask for swap, make it 0

Reboot

Once desktop loads, make those settings in the mod.
Reboot. It should be good.

I had the same problem, C. The only way that I found to fix it is Odin. CWM backups wouldn't even fix it. :D

For PC transfer issues...

When ever this happens, its a corrupt file/driver.

just DELETE
-Samsung KIES
-Samsung USB Drivers Package (forgot the actual file/name)

Now, goto WHERE they WERE installed, delete the folders...

SEARCH on c: for "samsung" or KIES...etc

READ CAREFULLY WHAT SEARCH COMES UP WITH!!
read where it is....what it is.
UNPLUG THE USB TO YOUR PHONE, FROM YOUR COMPUTER.
delete.
REboot..

after windows has COMPLETELY finished loading everything...
plug in JUST the USB cord.

then plug in your phone to the USB cord.

windows will search, locally, or use windows Update...so make sure your connected to the net.

once its done. your good.

FOR WINDOWS 7 USERS:
use program, "WINDOWS 7 MANAGER"
choose UNINSTALL tab, uninstall those programs...kies,samsung driver package.

after it uninstalls, it will ask to scan for left overs, do that. DELETE what it sees, STILL....be careful and watch what your deleting..

reboot.
plug in your phone.

ok, this is what i did. i tried koumamod 1.5 no go because of signiture, tried 1.6 still no go. then tried 1.7 and whamo, so got swap working off rom, have extra mem there. delete all that and make one on sd card not the partitions or fat. was like wow working great. come home from work try to backup to pc won't work. so for the hell of it restore to before all this works just great. so restore back to the swap running and won't work again. was like man?? so restore again back to before f-in with swap and works great. so deleted THEM BACKUPS!!!!!! now when i installed koumamod 1.7 it layed over 1.2, which is what i'm back on now, and is runng great again. without swap mine runs great just wanted to try it. so will maybe try by deleteing everything and start fresh and see again. you got me maybe laying 1.7 over 1.2 and not deleting 1.2 first did it.
i don't know, wierd but back to normal now.

i think had nothing to do with pc was something i did on phone but back to normal now.

Anytime I check "disable internal/data" and reboot, my phone gets stuck at the kouma kernal logo. This is probably an easy fix and is caused by my hastiness, but help is appreciated.

You have to format your sdext if you change modes

Okay, on page 86 I had a few threads trying to work through problems, and they're back.

I'm getting multiple force close on various items, including: google framework, phone, email.

Almost seems like random items force close. I haven't seen a pattern to why things are being force closed. In the previous threads I was having a similar problem, but it was affecting all the apps I had installed after setting up the CTMod 3.68. It was suggested to reinstall CTMod, so I did. It is working better but still random force close items.
