Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

O.K., then it must have been a squirk with Goo Mgr..... As I said, I remember reading the exact issue before, but I don't know anymore where it is..... Maybe one of the other guys has more insight on the "Goo Mgr. issue" !! Don't worry about it, you're fine. I never got a Goo Mgr update notification myself.....

Sometimes Goo does that. I've had it hapen 2 times to me. It will alert you that an update is available and there isn't one. Lol. I was bummed the 1st time it happened because i was looking forward to a new updates. :D

I use minitool partition wizard and I have notice that when a make ext 4 then a put it in the phone. Then a remove the sd card and open mini tool partition the phone change the ext4 to ext 3

Ditto ! I second that !!

I am not sure what it is, I am not a dev........ Probably only Kouma or Bloodawn would know why the ext3 and ext4 are different on the phone and the Mini Tool Partition Wizard !!

Would like to know that answer as well..........

What is better kuma 1-6 or kuma1-7 for data mode

I believe they are the same, except in the new 1.7, when you choose DATA mod in the Koumasettings, there is NO more extra checkmark to check. It's now default since too many people had troubles when selecting DATA mod and did not put the checkmark in as well !

I'm making 4 partition vfat ext4 3gig ext4 3gig swap1500mb is this right then check data and disable data reboot then set swap to dev block andmmcblk0p4 is this right

Been running CTMod 3.68 for several months now, and have noticed that google voice search, as well as any voice recognition, causes a force close of the framework

What you need for DATA mode is a FAT32 and a sdext partition. You don't need a swap partition if you use DATA mode..... ( you still can setup a swap partition if you plan to switch to SSM mode later on ).

NOTE : Just make sure, after you setup all your partitions and formatted the sdext, installed CTMod3.68, booted up the phone and switched to DATA mode ( incl. "disable data" ), that AT THIS POINT, you need to reboot back into CWM Recovery ( hold your power button till you get the menu and select "Recovery".........) and RE-FORMAT the sdext partition ( NOT SD-CARD ). Whenever you select DATA or SSM or make any switch in the Koumasettings, your immediately need to RE-FOMAT the sdext !!! Or it won't work. After you re-formatted the sdext, reboot system ( might have to select "Reboot System" twice )...................

NOTE : This first reboot after selecting DATA mode can take 10-15 minutes, so be patient !!

Settings>>>Application>>>Manage Application>>>select "ALL" tab....look for Google Framework and clear cache and data, reboot !!!

Edit : Might want to go to CWM Recovery and wipe dalvik too !!!

Hey I just installed the CT mod, but my phone seems to still be running quite slow. I partitioned my SD card to give me 1.8 GB of space, but I've installed less then 512 MB of apps. Is there anyway to speed my phone up a bit? I'm currently using Voltage Controller with the I/O set to iso and the CPU governor to smoothass, but it doesn't seem to be helping much. Is there a better configuration for speed, I don't mind if it kills battery, I just want my phone to run smoothly.

What class is your sdcard?

And if you're not worried about battery life try setting it to performance.

Also, I haven't tried a partition larger than 1024 (1gb) maybe you could try making a smaller partition...

I bet it's the SD-Card..... Especially if you have or run more than 100+ apps, I think a older class2 or class4 really slows you down. I noticed even big performance issues when I compared my two Prevails, one with a class6 card and one with a new class10 card !!

And I have a 4096MB ( wayyyyyyy to big ) partition for apps on the class10 card, which runs great and fast. But if I ever need to re-partition, I'd use 1024MB !!!! My current 120 apps only take 590MB !!!

I will try getting a better sd card, that makes sense. Where do I find a class 10 sd card. Local stores would be awesome, like best buy?

Well, I bet you can get them in local stores, but I would NEVER get it in a local store, wayyyyyyy to expensive. You can get the best deals on micro sd-cards at buy.com / newegg.com / and amazon.com ( and probably other ones too ), you just need to make sure it REALLY is a class10 card.....

Just saw that Staples has a deal on it..... not sure if it's only online or also at local stores ! Here is the link :
Polaroid 32GB microSD (microSDHC) Class 10 Flash Memory Card | Staples

I got a 16 GB San Disk Class 10 Micro SD card capable of 30 MB/s transfer speeds for 20 bucks at Best Buy, so I didn't feel so bad haha. Anyway, reflashed CTMod, then I partitioned the new SD to 1024kb instead of 2048, and then adjusted my voltage control to deadline and iso with a min of 480 and a max of 900, and the phone is just flying. Menus are fast acting, no lagging between screens, working great. Thanks so much for helping me figure this out.

Hi everyone! This is my first post. I just want to start off by saying that I love the ct mod and my prevail phone, you just can't beat it:-) And the mod has done wonders for my phone. However, I have one small problem with the 3.68. Everytime I reboot my phone or the battery dies and I boot it back up all my homescreens/ desktop app icons are back in the drawer except for 3 or 4 of them. I tried scanning thru all of the post and couldn't really find anything. Sorry if this has already been discussed but its driving me nuts. It also defaults me back to the stock 3.68 Gingerbread keyboard instead of my market jelly bean keyboard everytime as well. If anyone could help or steer me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I just found out that the newest Android release, 4.2, has a swipe-enabled keyboard. If Bloodawn decides to update, I bet that keyboard would be perfect for this thing. :)

Hi,

well, I never experienced that issue you are talking about !!

But it the phone does it on "every" reboot or whenever the battery has died, I'd try to use Odin, reflash FE16_ROOTED_CWM5 and re-flash CTMod again...... since at this point, you need to find out if you have a hardware issue ( bad phone or sd-card ) or if it's just a bad flash.....

For the app issue you could try to go to Setting>>>Application>>>Manage Application>>>"ALL" tab and look for "Download Manager, Google Play Store and Google Framework and clear cache and data, then reboot and let the phone alone for like 20 minutes to re-sync !! Maybe this helps. I have no idea why the keyboard goes back to default.....
