Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

You might need to clear cache and data for :

- Download manager
- Google PlayStore
- Google Service Framework

Then reboot. That usually does the trick ! ;)

Settings>>>Applications>>>>Manage Applications>>> then the ALL tab and look for the ones above !

So why even use titanium backup, I'm confused. Maybe that's why I had such a bad time, I think I used TB before. My phone forced closed all the time. Still wondering then, why use TB if you have to reinstall all your apps from the market. Thanks again for your help

Not all ROMs are a complete overhaul, some are just minor changes... those occasions are fine for a tb restore.

Other times, if you bork something, and your backup isn't as current as you would like, but you just happen to have TB scheduled to keep your data current... THAT is the ideal time for a TB restore...

(BTW, I don't even use titanium backup... I just install my stuff from the market... with the exception of a few specifics I backed up using Es File or Root Uninstaller... and those are in the form of an apk... with no data attached to them)

I installed ClockworkMod per instructions. Then went into CWM and installed 3.75 via the instructions. Now when I power on, my phone loops between the Samsung startup screen and the Kouma Kernel screen and that's it.

Any suggestions on what I need to do (or redo)?

Thanks!

I guess theres still a lot of prevails floating around lol, 1000 downloads of 3.75 in 17 hours.

hope everything is working well for you guys.

Working well? Hell yeah its working well! I just ran Antutu Benchmark and scored a 3490! I ran it a few days ago and got 2070. The rom is awesome Blood. Your swan song for the Prevail is your best work for our phone.

PS - Did I mention it scored a 3490 on Antutu!:D

I'd go back into recovery and wipe everything..then reflash the rom. Might want to make sure your download didn't get corrupted too.

what baseband are you on? your prevail might be one of the old ones that still had a froyo baseband and if so you need to upgrade it to anything else lol.

Upgrade to anything else period to use, or upgrade to something else then go to 3.75? I'm a newb, so not sure how to answer which baseband I'm on ><

DITTO !!! My AnTuTu Benchmark went from 22xx to 3316 !!! Yeahhhhh

NOWWWWWWWW, Bloodawn, how or what did you do ????? Grinzzzzzz

this is exactly how I installed,

but I till get caught up on the Koumakernel boot screen.

I'm trying to run data @ 512MB

Any suggestions??

O.K., after you flashed CTMod...... Did you go to the CTMod Settings and change under Kernal settings to "DATA" ?????? If so, after changing ANY value in the kernel settings, you need to reboot into RECOVERY and re-format your sdext ( NOT sd-card ) again, then do a reboot and be patient.... in some cases, the first reboot after changing to DATA or SSM can take 10 - 15 minutes !!!!

BUT A RE-FORMAT OF SDEXT IS REQUIRED !!!!!

Ok let me rephrase my question . What scheduler & governer do yall suggest ?

when I used my prevail I had it at deadline and smoothass. some people seem to like sio with smartassv2 or interactivex so it just depends on what one works better for you.

so everything was working and you switched it to data mode but then it loops at the kernel logo?
Exactly, Everything went in fine, went into data mode ran the partition tool root boot and loop endlessly not just me losing patients I'm talking this has been an all day effort. lolz

Does doing everything in CWM really make a difference? I'm trying it now. wth. lolz

Sure does !!! I tried several times to partition and format a sd-card with Mini-Partition-Tool on my computer, it never worked in the phone...... there must be a slight incompatibility !!

And if you read the "Guide for Dummies", it also says that about re-formatting ! ;)

What theme I could use with 3.75 green me won't work blooxperia neither.

Quote ( out of the changelog ) :

" Themes for older versions will not work with this "

I guess you need to wait until someone releases new themes for it or finds working ones ! ;)

sounds to me like you don't have a partition on your sdcard, thats the only reason switching to data mode would make it loop at the kernel screen.

Well, he said in one of his previous posts :

"I'm trying to run data @ 512MB ", so he might created a partition, but after switching to "DATA" or "SSM", according to Kouma, the sdext MUST be re-formatted in CWM Recovery !!!!

I have created a partition, maybe out of sequence?

From the top:

ODIN FF19 ROOTED
CTMOD 3.75 FINAL
Reboot Recovery
Partition SD
Reboot
Change to DATA
Reboot

Where am I going wrong?

"REBOOT INTO RECOVERY" ( hold down Powerbutton for a second or two, select REBOOT, then RECOVERY)"
"THEN FORMAT SDEXT A G A I N "
"THEN REBOOT SYSTEM"

See above !!
