Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

This phone is so freaking annoying me, it was working all fast last night with governor of "performance" then today I decide to test the CPU tuner after uninstalling battery saver and getting CPU tuner my phone started lagging again even when I put I back the way it was wtf?!

I found that most of these "battery saving" apps aren't working properly and causing trouble. My Prevail runs real nice and fast since I have put on CTMod3.68 and now 3.75..... The ONLY main change I made to the system speed is to set VoltageControl to max 900 ( not even full blast ) and min. to 300 !!

Most people don't understand, that the Prevail is an "old phone", which runs really good and great with all the ROM mods, however, some apps, like games and other newer apps, might not run as well........Heck, it's not a dual or quad core processor what's in the phone, just a small, 800mhz processor.....

And trying to make it run like a 1.5ghz processor, by installing all kind of other crap, makes the situation just worst !!!

Just my 2c.......... Maybe we can make out of a VW Bug ( Prevail ) a BMW, but we certainly cannot make a race car or rocket out of it !!! ;)

Well I guess most people that were making themes for the Prevail and other phones are forced to stop at this point because it just takes too much work to do it manually...

Hopefully they get the new. Aapt.

I think if you just want to port your Old theme to the new one. You could use themed. Porter (beta?) I used it to port a prevail theme to a totally different phone no problem. I think I got it off xda. Not positive ill look for a link.

I use CPU master not tuner. For battery do everything manually turn this down turn the lights down turn off of apps running in the background, turn auto sync off things like that'll help conserve your battery. Like VC said most of these roms have built in stuff when you start adding battery savers and tuners that is what messes up your phone. If you're going to use the heck out of your phone just get a spare battery.

Try flashing koumakernel from its thread.

If that doesn't work, try replacing the koumamod.apk with the one from the koumakernel thread.

Ok....so couple of days ago I did the above mentioned and it finally worked, HOWEVER...... ...After I finally had everything set up I needed to reboot and, DAMN IT MAN, lol, it went right back to being stuck on the Kouma screen. I went as far as going into the ROM itself deleting the kouma.apk and inserting the apk from his thread then and also same with the kernel file. And still nothing....WTH...I want to run the ROM BAD but am running into a brick wall everywhere I turn. Any help peeps would greatly be appreciated.

THANKS in advance!!!

As far as I know, most system apps in a ROM are digitally signed to work with the specific ROM, you can't just exchange them, you might run into much more trouble.........

ever since i updated to the new rom, my phone has been running EXTREMELY slow... i'm not certain what to do as i have tried everything i could understand from this forum... someone please help me as i am in dire need of guidance in the finding a solution to this issue...

Have you tried wiping your dalvik cache ? ( boot into CWM Recovery, or turn phone off, then hold Vol+ & Power until you see the blue menu )

Maybe that helps..... :)

yes... i did wipe the dalvik... from the recovery menu... no luck in solving my issue... the voltage control is set at 200/900... sio/maxmin... i'm going nuts... it's force closing pretty much anything i try to do... phone calls, msgs, even the xperia home thing... bothersome...

Hmmmmmm, strange.... I have noooooo problems at all..... It's running nice and smooth.

Maybe you should re-flash the ROM......

I would do a factory reset ( a few times ) and then flash CTMod3.75 again....

( What are your settings in CTMod/Kouma currently ? DATA or SSM )

Did you restore anything with titanium backup?

data in the ctmod/kouma

then... what's another option of restoring everything i had.?. contacts, apps, texts, etc.?.

Contacts are synced with your Google account.

Texts can be backed up and restored with this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore
And you are going to just have to redownload all of your apps.

The new version of the rom was built using an entirely different base. By restoring stuff with titanium you put the files from the old rom into the new one... that's the cause of your problems.

Titanium backup isn't meant to be used for switching ROMs. Its not meant even to transition between versions. There is a reason that the rom formats your data partition when you install it.

my contacts aren't synced to google... i use gocontacts & export/import from my sd... will i still be able to import them from my sd.?.

Just an FYI, if you login to google for Accounts and sync and especially to use the Play Store then your contacts are more than likely synced with Google which is the easiest way to save and restore your contacts, every time you install a rom on your phone and login to google through Accounts and Sync you'll be able to restore your contacts by letting Google sync them back to your phone at that point... The only way that you won't have your contacts synced is if you have the contacts unchecked in the sync list...

The first thing I do when I flash a ROM is sign in to the market. That syncs contacts too.

You may want to get another keyboard then, that one might use too much ram, just a thought!

Hey guys, I just did a backup with TWRP and have successfully restored the backup after doing a complete wipe of my phone, so IMO TWRP is working fine, on my phone anyway... But here is the screenshot of the backup I created in TWRP...

What does this have to do with ct mod?
This theme stuff and anything else not directly related to ct mod should have its own thread. Not directed at you specifically... but some people are trying to get some help with the problems they are having with this rom. ;)

OK guys with lag i have been on superuser for a few hours and been running the crap out of my phone.. browser and youtube and everything else and since them my prevail has been in BEAST Mode...just sayin so far so good if your skeptical to change i will report back lol.....also i switched back to the system app voltage control and it keeps switching my settings around so going back to market lol
