How do I go about updating my ROM to this newest version without losing all my data/settings?
what about the arguments for keeping ext2?
as described here,
it says that ext 2 is less damaging to sd card and faster...?

I also have never had to force my wifi on any of the versions of CTMod. It works just fine for me without any type of apk. I have service with Boost activated on it. When I didn't have service for a while I was still able to use the wifi on 3.68 with no issues. What would cause it to not work? Asking because once I upgrade and move my servise over I still might use this little wonder for all sorts of things. My Prevail has no service activated on it and CTMod 3.75 uses the wifi just fine, even after reboot the wifi is automatically connected to the hotspot I use, so that apk isn't really needed as far as I'm concerned...
So in hopes of fixing the lag I also uninstalled and reinstalled voltage control. I then made it a system app again. So far so good. I will let you know more but I think it helped.

Edit- Thadd... did you unintentionally post in the prevail section? We can't clock to 1200
I was getting lag without the theme. Mostly after using the internet.
But mine is over 9000!
I hear you on that and I do clear regularly and might just be a fluke? I tried them then reverted back and seen a difference and now redfx no problem, Wired, Might have something to do with the combination of what I have and the theme to affect me only, but still wired. Still all is good now, ran the heck out of everything and no problems now!
I don't think koumakernel supports ext2 for data/ssm mode.
That's a question best for the koumakernel thread
Well then the theme wasn't the cause in your case? Might still be something installed. You can try to (just make sure you have a fresh backup made to fall back on), and do a factory wipe, reinstall the rom and no apps and use the web if no lag then install apps and if lag then an app issue. In that case you install 1 app use and if good, backup, then install a second and so on and so on untill you find the problem one or do 10 at a time if you have alot. 99.9% of the time it is what we install that causes the problems or what we change and do!
Keep in mind that even though there are no mods in place with themes, just like with computers, the more graphics that your display is showing the more graphics memory it is using, that's why most people usually switch to classic theme on Windows based computers so there computer can get back up to speed, well the same with our phones, the more eye candy you have it display the slower it will become...
Lol, that's why I'm glad we have the ability to OC our beasts to make up for the graphics power it's using...
ok that sounds cool,
thanks
would you please point me to a simplified procedure list of operations in order to set up the fresh install and setup of the CTMod with new 32 gig C10 SD card having partitions for virtual RAM and all apps with related data files, the optimal sizes of sd card dedicated for virtual ROM and apps with the best settings for maximum performance and stability.
thanks for the help
But he isn't actually adding anything. He is REPLACING the existing ones with different ones. As long as the images' size remains the same, performance should too.
This.I already know that he's replacing existing images, trust me I'm not new to this, all I'm saying is that even though the images are being replaced with new ones for a custom theme it doesn't mean that they won't use more ram/memory on the graphics side, and another thing, with a lot of these themes out here, there are some images that are different that are replaced to make the original image look better but in doing that they're possibly using more graphics memory, and when that's done it could slow down the functionality of the rom at that point... These phones aren't that much different than computers and if you have a good general concept of how they run then you should also know what I'm trying to explain here, it's not that difficult...
As I said, might be the sd-card and not you...... Before you go crazy, just try a different brand of card and start from scratch !! Sd-Cards can go bad.......
